Trade Idea from a Wizards Fan
This is all speculation, but what would you guys think about trading
SF: Xavier Henry
PF: Zach Randolph
2010 2nd round draft choice
for
PG: Gilbert Arenas
SG: Nick Young
2010 1st rd pick (top 5 protected)
I can't take credit for this idea, bulletsforever member Spanky731 first proposed it, i'm just trying to get a viewpoint of how real this trade is from some Grizzlies fans.
Trading for Philadelphia's Number Two Pick
So... I was on ESPN looking around and in their TrueHoop segment, it said that the Philadelphia 76ers were shopping their second pick in the 2010 draft. ESPN said that Philadelphia was looking for someone to take Elton Brand's contract off their hands. I came up with the following trade just as a thought.
Wizards Trade
Gilbert Arenas, Andray Blatche, and a Trade Exception for cash
76ers Trade
Number Two pick in 2010 draft, Elton Brand and future 2010 draft pick
I personally think the trade works out nicely for both teams, the Wizards lineup would end up (if we pick John Wall and Evan Turner at 1 and 2) as follows
PG: John Wall
SG: Evan Turner
SF: Josh Howard
PF: Elton Brand
C: JaVale McGee
Or, the Wizards could participate in a three team deal that would include say the Miami Heat, WIzards, and 76ers
Wizards recieve:
Elton Brand (from 76ers)
18th pick in 2010 Draft (from Miami Heat)
42nd pick in 2010 Draft (from Miami Heat)
2nd pick in 2010 Draft (From 76ers)
Heat Recieves:
Gilbert Arenas (from washington)
Trade Exception (from Washinton)
Nick Young (From Washington)
76ers Recieve:
Michael Beasley (from heat)
Andray Blatche (from Wizards)
Wizards lineup after 2010 Draft; Free Agent Signings.
The 2010 NBA draft includes several prospects that seem to be promising, athletic, and full of "potential'
So. The Wizards have OFFICIALLY locked in a top 8 draft choice. So, I have decided to list a wizards starting lineup with four of the five players we have locked in for the 2010-2011 season, plus one of the top 8 draft prospects (listed by ESPN's Chad Ford
Number One Prospect: John Wall
PG: John Wall
SG: Gilbert Arenas
SF: Al Thornton
PF: Andray Blatche
C: JaVale McGee
Number Two Prospect: Evan Turner
PG: Gilbert Arenas
SG: Evan Turner
SF: Al Thornton
PF: Andray Blatche
C: JaVale McGee
Number Three Prospect: Derrick Favors
PG: Gilbert Arenas
SG: Nick Young
SF: Andray Blatche
PF: Derrick Favors
C: JaVale McGee
Note that Andray Blatche and Derrick Favors could be swapped at this position if necessary.
Number Four Prospect: DeMarcus Cousins
PG: Gilbert Arenas
SG: Nick Young
SF: Al Thornton
PF: Andray Blatche
C: DeMarcus Cousins
Number Five Prospect: Wesley Johnson
PG: Gilbert Arenas
SG: Nick Young
SF: Wesley Johnson/ Al Thornton
PF: Andray Blatche
C: JaVale McGee
Number Six Prospect: Al-Farouq Aminu
PG: Gilbert Arenas
SG: Nick Young
SF: Al-Farouq Aminu/ Al Thornton
PF: Andray Blatche
C: JaVale McGee
Number Seven Prospect: Ed Davis
PG: Gilbert Arenas
SG: Nick Young
SF: Al Thornton
PF: Ed Davis
C: Andray Blatche
Number Eight Prospect: Cole Aldrich
PG: Gilbert Arenas
SG: Nick Young
SF: Al Thornton
PF: Andray Blatche
C: Cole Aldrich
Note That there will also be free agent signings this summer, possible trades, and two other draft choices. These could be NOWHERE NEAR what the Wizards final starting lineup consists of at the start of next season, just a set of POSSIBLE lineups. My personal favorites would be the lineups with John Wall, Evan Turner, and DeMarcus Cousins. Also, I hope the Wizards can pick up one or more semi-big name free agents this summer.

Draft Talent and Trades!!!
So. As this years 2009-2010 NBA season comes to a close, the wizards will finish with the 3rd to 6th worst recrd in the NBA, thus landing them a high probablility of winning the draft lottery. However, there are fourteen teams that all want the number one pick, and come june, thirteen of these teams will not recieve their dream. If the Wizards draft pick lands them somewhere around the number 2-8 pick, what will they choose. The top 10 prospects (as ranked by ESPN's Chad Ford are as follows:
John Wall PG
Evan Turner SG
Derrick Favors PF
DeMarcus Cousins C
Wesley Johnson SF
Al-Farouq Aminu SF
Ed Davis PF
Cole Aldrich C
Greg Monroe C
Hassan Whiteside C
I think that John Wall and Gilbert Arenas would flow nicely on the offensive side of the court, and would bond well together.
Evan Turner is my favorite player in this years draft, and I think that if he and Gilbert can have good chemistry, they will be one of the most dangerous guard pairs in the league
Derrick Favors is a player who has shown signs of dominating the low post , however i am very uninformed about what other skills he has other than dunking.
DeMarcus Cousins has "unlimited potential" and is a above average in the paint, has a nice shooting touch for a big man. However, I am concerned with his mental wellbeing, and he seems to be a little bit weird at times.
Wesley Johnson has a good shooting touch from three point range, and is VERY explosive in the paint (with dunks). not sure if he will be a star in the NBA, but he should be at least a average role player.
Al-Farouq Aminu is a very talented player who can post up just about anyone in the college game, however im not sure if this will translate into the NBA.
I was watching a few highlight tapes of Ed Davis, and every single play was a dunk. literally. every one. he reminds me of what i saw out of JaVale McGee in college, but stronger. Very explosive, however i dont tihnk he will be a legit starter for a year or so.
I am also uninformed about Cole Aldrich, however from what i have heard, he seems like he will be a good consistant, solid center in the NBA that will put up around 10 points and 10 rebounds a night.
Greg Monroe seems like he will once again be returning to college basketball, however if he surprises the general public and goes to the NBA, i think that he will be a above average player in a few years, however im concerned about his leadership, not been able to really "take over" a basketball game when ive watched him play.
Im dont know much about Hassan Whiteside, however scouts seem pretty impressed, he seems like a above average post player.
The point is, this years draft seems pretty talented, however i think that there is a big drop off in talent after John Wall and Evan Turner.
If the Wizards dont get a top two draft choice, i hope that they explore some trade options to get a higher pick.
Maybe a Gilbert Arenas+our pick for a top two choice.
This might work if a team such as the Warriors or Pistons get a high pick.
This years draft also seems like it has a good variety of big men, and i would like it if the wizards could move up their draft pick from cleveland to get a more assertive big man.
Im also hoping that the wizards tank their last few games so that we can end up with better odds of winning the draft.

2010 NBA Draft: The John Wall Possibility
So far, this season ;
Abe Pollin has died
Gilbert Arenas has been suspended
Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison, and Brendan Haywood have been traded
Seven Day 'Dray has proved himself to be a legitimate player that can keep up with the NBA's elite
Ted Leonsis has purchased the Wizards
The Wizards Roster currently consists of:
Gilbert Arenas
Javaris Crittenon
Here is my analysis:
Point Guards: Shaun Livingston, Gilbert Arenas, Earl Boykins, and Randy Foye
Gilbert is still a little bit iffy with me, and even though Grunfeld says he will be with Washington next year, this may not be so (Leonsis may have other ideas). Still not a pass first point guard and prefers to shoot. A negative asset when it comes to team chemistry. Shaun Livingston has really impressed me- maybe because he actually PASSES the ball. Doesn't have the greatest shooting touch or scoring ability, but I would like to keep him as a substitute point guard for next year. Earl Boykins bothers the shit out of me, because of his excessive dribbling. I would not be sad nor happy if he is brought back next year. I think of Randy Foye as a raw version of Gilbert Arenas. He can score whenever he wants and has the potential to be a star, however he shoots a lot for a point guard and also has a negative chemistry.
Shooting Guards: Mike Miller, Nick Young, Quinton Ross
Mike Miller has to be my favorite player on the Wizards. He has amazing fundamentals- can shoot, rebound, pass, and drive. He also has a fairly high Basketball IQ and doesn't commit many turnovers. I would be absolutely delighted if the Wizards brought back next year. Nick Young also has potential, however he is very raw, and careless with the ball. He has a nice stroke from three, however he's a VERY streaky shooter and inconsistent. Quinton Ross hasn't seen much of an expanded role, however i think this is for good reason. He, like Mike Miller, seems to have very good fundamentals, however he can't really score and is overall a very quiet player. I would be fine with not seeing him next year.
Small Forwards: Al Thornton, Josh Howard
Al Thornton has a lot of potential. He can drive, and is very explosive at the rim, and is a excellent rebounder. He has a mediocre shooting touch. I would like to see him back next year. I am also impressed with Josh Howard. He shot the basketball a lot and had a score-first mentality, however the team chemistry with him on the floor was pretty good. I enjoyed watching him, and would like the Wizards to sign him next year (at a lower salary of course).
Power Forwards: Andray Blatche
Andray Blatche has shown amazing potential this year and has averaged an amazing 24.5 points per game since the all star break. He will be back next year unless something crazy happens, and I am happy about that. I would like him to get stronger over the summer and come back looking similar to Dwight Howard (in my dreams). I also hope that the Wizards can sign another Power Forward over the summer to help out 'Dray sometimes. (im PRAYING for Josh Smith)
Centers: JaVale McGee, Fabricio Oberto, James Singleton
JaVale has once again proved to me that he will most likely NEVER be a star in the nba. He is still is as scrawny as ever, despite his workout videos over the summer. He can NOT play defense other than the occasional block, and other than Oleisky Pecherov, it looks like any center in the league can score on him basically at will. He has NO offensive game, and constantly is missing 5-10 foot floaters. It's time to give up on javale, DC. Trade him, release him, i really dont care. As long as he is gone. Fabricio Oberto most likely will retire next year, but really, who even cares. He doesnt get much playing time on the Wizards, and when he is playing, he isnt doing much. I still am crying on a daily basis about the fact that he was basically signed at the cost of DeJuan Blair. James Singleton looks like he can be a good role guy who can come in and give you 5 points and 5 rebounds a night. He is explosive at the rim and can finish strong. I would like to see him in a Wizards uniform next season.
So, how does the NBA draft play into all of this, you ask?
WELL, I think that:
JOHN WALL IS THE SOLUTION TO THE WASHINGTON WIZARDS FRANCHISE!!!!!!!
If the Wizards recieve the number one draft choice in the 2010 draft, i would love to see them draft John Wall. Mr. Wall has basically unlimited potential and can pass like hell. With him on this team, the Wizards chemistry would improve greatly, and their game would be much more balanced both offensively, and defensively.
So, this is my dream roster for the Wizards 2010, 2011 season.
Point Guards: John Wall, Shaun Livingston.
Shooting Guards: Gilbert Arenas, Mike Miller, Nick Young
Small Forwards: Josh Howard, Al Thornton
Power Forwards: Josh Smith, Draft Choice
Centers: Andray Blatche, Draft Choice, James Singleton
This would mean that we have John Wall, Gilbert Arenas, Josh Howard, Josh Smith, and Andray Blatche as our starting lineup. John Wall and Josh Smith are energetic and would be a great dynamic duo. Gilbert would get to stop pretending to be a Point Guard and would get to actually focus on doing what he does best- SHOOT (hehe guns, shoot). But seriously. Josh Howard seems like a legitimate player, and with a little bit of encouragement Al Thornton seems like he could be an excellent 10-20 minutes a game player. 'Dray can continue to be 'Dray and put up around 15 a game (no longer the 1st option on offense). Nick Can improve, James Singleton can provide a spark off the bench and Josh Smith can give us all those amazing highlight dunks.
So there you have it. My solution to the wizards summed up in one fan page.

Trade Idea for Suns' Stoudemire
Hello. Ive been thinking about possible trades for the wizards which would be beneficial. So far this is my latest idea. What do you all think about this:
Washington Trades: Forward Antawn Jamison and Center Drew Gooden to Suns.
Phoenix Trades: Forward Amar'e Stoudemire and first round draft pick to Wizards.
This trade would allow the Wizards to experiment with Amar'e. This summer, if we sign him, he can be the wizards centerpiece to rebuild around. If we dont re-sign him this summer, we would get MAJOR cap relief from Gooden and Jamison. Also, we get a draft pick to find young talent.
Also, if i'm the Suns, I like this offer. It seems like it would be more appealing to them than their asking price from the Clevland Cavaliers (J.J. Hickson and First round draft pick). The Wizards lineup would be as follows if this deal were to go through.
PG: Randy Foye
SG: Mike Miller
SF: Josh Howard
PF: Amar'e Stoudemire
C: Andray Blatche/Javale McGee
Wizards Trade for Josh Howard, Drew Gooden, give up Butler, Haywood
According to dallasnews.com the Wizards and Mavericks have reached a "tentative" deal which would send Josh Howard, Drew Gooden, James Singleton, and Quinton Ross to the Wizards while the wizards would trade away Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, and Deshawn Stevenson. You can see the story here http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/stories/021310dnspomavstrade.10ffd1520.html
My initial thoughts: At first, I was disgusted that the Wizards would give away two of their most solid (and my personal favorite) players for a injured downgrade of butler, drew gooden, and two projects. However, one of the apparent perks of this deal was to finally get rid of DeShawn Stevenson, who has played HORRIBLY lately.
After this trade, the wizards should (and most likely will) trade Antawn Jamison. Drew Gooden plays power forward and Josh Howard can also play the 4. Antawn dislikes playing the three, and his natural position is the four.
After this Trade, the Wizards Roster looks like this:
Starters: Substitutes: Reserves:
Randy Foye Earl Boykins Fabricio Oberto
Mike Miller Nick Young Quinton Ross
Josh Howard Dominic McGuire James Singleton
Antawn Jamison Drew Gooden
Andray Blatche Javale McGee
Although I was skeptical of this at first, I am starting to grow on this deal. Now, Andray and Javale will be given more Playing Time and oppertunity to develop as players. Also, we will be shipping out one of the worst players offensively in DeShawn Stevenson. But, what really makes this deal likeable is the Wizards lineup if they decide to trade Antawn Jamison for J.J. Hickson and Zydrunus Ilgauskus. After this deal, the Wizards lineup would be as follows:
Starters: Subs: Reserves
Randy Foye Earl Boykins Fabricio Oberto
Mike Miller Nick Young Dominic McGuire
Josh Howard J.J. Hickson James Singleton
Drew Gooden Javale McGee Quinton Ross
Zydrunus Ilgauskus Andray Blatche
One of the major dissapointments of this deal is that Rodrigue Beaubois was not included in this deal. I REALLY like his play, and think he would be a nice addition to this ballclub. Furthermore, if we decide to void Gilbert Arenas's contract (keeping my fingers crossed), Beaubois would be a nice backup point guard.
Thats all I've got, thoughts anyone??
