I hadn't heard that Miami was interested in Blake, before. However, I'm not all that interested in trading him away. If this trade were to go down (maybe closer to the trade deadline when we know if Bayless can be the backup PG), what would you want in return from them?

"The Portland Trail Blazers have summoned Nicolas Batum back to over concerns about his shoulder that has been a persistent issue over the past six months according to Romain Brunet of Le Monde."

The rest of the article is the same interview we had earlier in the week. I hope either Batum gets to go back and play pretty fast, the experience he's getting seems to be really good. Or that he decides to call it quits until camp, so his shoulder can get 100%.

I saw this article about Joel Freeland, and wanted to make sure everyone had a look. It doesn't share a lot of new information, but it is a nice breakdown of what we know about him so far, and where we might be going with him.

"Joel Freeland is listed as a 6'10"/6'11" forward currently with CB Gran Canaria, of the Spanish ACB League (same league as Rudy) and has been described as both a power forward and center. His playing style has been compared to David Lee of the Knicks and former NBA player Keon Clark."

Blazer's Edge Information request-owner info

The other day I read a brief blurb about how attractive RLEC is because of his large expiring contract, and the 5.1 mil covered by insurance.  While there have been numerous posts describing possible trading partners who might be dropping salary for 2010 or blowing up their rosters, I haven't seen an analysis of the different owners who might be looking to save money.

Specifically, I'm hoping that someone in the community who has better research skills than myself, might look into the financial situations of NBA owners, especially in light of the general economic troubles in the country.  Additionally an analysis of how likely they are to make a trade to cut salary in light of their financialy situation would be very cool.
