St. Louis, MO (AP) - A seven-year old boy was at the center of a St. louis County courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible..

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the St. Louis Rams, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone....

Blackbookberry - A comedy website

Not a Blues thing, but it is a St. Louis thing

This fanshot is not a Blues thing. However, it is a post about an amateur comedy website that is being created right here in St. Louis. More specifically, a website that yours truly is acting and working in. Therefore, a Blues Jersey is bound to show up on the website or in one of the webisodes eventually. I also promise to do my best to get an actual paper Game Time into one of the videos, too.

Since I've been telling all of the thespians who will listen about the St. Louis Game Time website and the periodical, I feel as though I should return the favor and tell everyone here who would listen about the Blackbookberry website.

Please forgive me for the shameless plug here.

In addition to working behind the scenes with the camera, prepping areas to be filmed in, and chucking items into the frame from off camera, I also play the role of "Brad" in some of the webisodes.

Kyle Okposo: Suffers Mild Concussion Thursday

Update:
Okposo has been diagnosed with a mild concussion after leaving the ice on a stretcher following a hit from Calgary's Dion Phaneuf in Thursday's preseason game, NY Newsday reports.

Recommendation:
Okposo was motionless for several minutes before being removed by the on-site medical staff. The Isles took exception to the hit because they felt Phaneuf left his feet and delivered his shoulder directly to Okposo's head. Phaneuf's unwillingness to drop the gloves as the game progressed also irked the Isles, as they wanted him to back up his physical play. Fortunately, it sounds like Okposo is going to be OK, as he was cleared to fly with the team back to Saskatchewan afterward.

My letter to KPLR-11.

While watching the St. Louis Blues game on Saturday evening, I could not help but notice that the center ice appeared very washed out during the broadcast. So much that I could not follow the puck or identify the players. Either end of the ice had a very good picture from the same camera. Only the center ice was hard to view.

I have confirmed with friends that it's not just my television set. I have also been told that Fox Sports Midwest uses the same cameras and they do not have the same issues with the center of the ice rink. I believe this is due to either the cameras not being adjusted correctly for white balance or that the signal could be corrected before it is broadcast.

As a Blues fan who endures all of the commercials during your broadcast of Blues games, I would like to request that your station does "whatever it takes" to fix this issue in the future. With ticket prices dropping and the current special offers by the St. Louis Blues, I may find it necessary to buy a ticket for any home game that KPLR-TV is going to broadcast and attend the games instead of suffering through the deplorable picture on my television set.

Where do you usually sit for Blues' Games at DrinkScotch?

I usually catch tickets with a friend who splits season tickets with his two brothers. They are up in the front row of the upperbowl in Section 312, seats 2 & 3. Other than that, I could sit anywhere.

Maybe some of you don't have "usual" seats or just don't want the rest of us to know where you sit! ;)

Also, feel free to toss out comments about your favorite place to pick up tickets for games besides the box office. My officemates offer up tickets every now and then, but I've done well off of Craiglist and a friend has done well with vendors on the street.
