Tennessee: The Girl Who Doesn’t Realize She’s Cute It seems like just yesterday she was in high school with bad acne and thick glasses (Tennessee losing to Wyoming at home in 2008). But my, oh, my, look at her now. It really is amazing what a little Clearasil, contact lenses and Monte Kiffin’s defense did to her. Much like the hot foreign exchange student, get in good with the this girl/Tennessee now. Do it before she realizes how good looking she is (and how hideous you are. Seriously would it kill you to put a little gel in your hair once in awhile?). More importantly, do it now, before the SEC Championships start rolling in. College Football and the Women We Love Saw this linked on Roll Bama Roll, the whole article is pretty funny.

Dear Fans, It's Time! The start of the 2009 football season is finally here, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to play our first game inside Neyland Stadium. The excitement around the program is unbelievable! Our players and coaches have worked extremely hard this summer and in fall camp. As I said back in November, we will not be out-worked, and I still stand by that statement today. Saturday’s season opener against Western Kentucky will be a landmark day for our entire program. I encourage everyone to come out early, enjoy the VolWalk and cheer loudly. Part of what makes Tennessee so special is the fans. Your support, enthusiasm and excitement is contagious. Our coaches and players can feel it so join us for the Vol Walk at 10:35 beginning at the Torchbearer. The weather forecast for sunny is 83 and partly sunny – perfect weather for football. If you don’t have tickets yet, check out www.uttix.com. The Big Orange Nation is a team of one and I would like to ask each of you to help us show the rest of the college football world just how united we are. We are asking fans to create a "SEA OF ORANGE" in the stands of Neyland Stadium. The official 2009 Tennessee football t-shirt is on sale at your favorite Vol shop. Buy your shirt, wear it to the game and let’s create an event that none of us will soon forget. If you are in town on Friday night, join the Pride of the Southland Band, the cheerleaders, and Smokey for the 3rd Annual Big Orange Blast pep rally and concert featuring country music star Sara Evans at World’s Fair Park. Thanks for your support. I will see you at Neyland Stadium on Saturday! Let’s Lock In. It’s Time! Go Vols! Lane Kiffin

For starters, Tennessee isn’t going to be as down as many think. There’s some talent there and the new coaching staff has injected some much needed enthusiasm and confidence. It could be a tight battle in The Swamp.

Twenty of the 31 days in July are set aside for NCAA coaches to "evaluate" prospects; the days are broken into two periods. The first period ran from July 6-15, and Pearl missed every moment of it, which could be damaging in terms of recruiting.

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/story/11963941/rss Not a big deal at all considering its admirable what coach is doing and his assistants are still hard at work on the road, but it is interesting to note.

Lane Kiffin and Tennessee - Right Program, Right Fit?

My job right now is to help UT be the program it used to be. Those good old days need to be now, in the present. And I want it to be that way not just for my four years but even beyond that. I want to come back like Peyton Manning and keep an eye on things and make sure it's going the way it should."

"I don't have to worry about all the crap you face in the SEC with its ridiculous, nit-picky rules and regulations on everything you do. I'm a guy who likes to walk down the street and not have to worry all the time about people watching me, waiting on me to screw up. I have that here."

Not missing a beat Kiffin said "Well, you can tell she is a Florida Gator, she's been drinking all day." Making mention of the beer in her had. Again laughter from everyone including her. The funniest part was as soon as he said it turned to look at the cameras at the side of the room and said "Aw man, they got me again."

Whatever Foster plays, he just hopes he's not asked to flip sides on the offensive line as he did under former offensive coordinator Dave Clawson last season. "As far as that strong/weakside stuff," Foster said, "I wouldn't venture that I would ever see that again."

"I admit that my senior year I was a little distant, and I stayed away from people," said Foster, who's now projected to go during the latter rounds of the draft. "Last year was hard for everybody. We saw it all crumbling before us. There was finger-pointing in the locker room, and the morale was terrible. "It was sad, because I knew what the program was and what it should be. I guess part of the reason I didn't say much is that I didn't want to add to the negative atmosphere. Everybody could feel it, and they would be lying if they said it wasn't negative. There was just so much arguing that I didn't want to make it worse."
