Giants, Rockies? or Giants, Dodgers?
I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but how would you guys feel about us sweeping the dodgers, and having the playoffs race end up being a giants/dodgers wildcard race towards the end of the season, with the rockies taking the division?
Would you guys rather have the giants and rockies make the playoffs, or the giants and dodgers?
Just an interesting thought that came to mind, since it looks like the rockies only lose like once every 12 games or something ridiculous like that.

Bonds attending Outfielders reunion on Saturday? Maybe.
Apparently, Bonds is on vacation in Hawaii for the week, but will be back in SoCal today.
Andrew Baggarly:
I emailed Barry Bonds’ publicist, Rachael Vizcarra, earlier in the week to find out if the All-Time Home Run King would attend Saturday’s outfielder reunion at AT&T Park as part of the 50th anniversary celebration. She responded a few minutes ago:
"Thanks for your email…we are doing great…Barry has been invited to the reunion at AT & T Park this weekend, but I’m sure you’ve heard he’s on a family vacation, so we are not sure if his schedule will permit…"
It'd be great if he showed, especially since I'll be at the game.. I know the fans will definitely be good to him; I know I will.

Ewww: Baron Davis in a Dodgers Jersey
Baron Davis, how could you! I guess it's not really that big of a surprise, kind of want to see a picture though.
Brian Wilson's Arms Crossed Explanation
So I've been wondering about what the heck that arms crossed finger pointing thing that Wilson does after he finishes a game meant, and this article here explains it well (link below). It's actually an interview by Andrew Baggarly and he quotes Wilson in his own words. There's actually a pretty interesting meaning behind it. In short, it's like a mix of a mixed-martial arts reference and a Christianity symbol (yeah, weird huh?). Pretty deep for Wilson the comedian lol. Anyways, I just thought it was interesting and to share it with you guys.
Oh and I like Vizquel's comment (I didn't even know he did it):
I asked him about teammates dropping the X, including Omar Vizquel who does it every time. (Omar doesn’t know what it means. “I just like him because he’s crazy,” Vizquel said.)

Damn the All-Star Game... and its four day break!
My favorite thing about baseball is that games are played nearly every day, and I can flip on the TV and watch my favorite team. Now I have to wait until Friday before I can see the Cain vs. Sabathia matchup!? GRR, I say! What am I gonna DO!?!
I mean I guess the All Star Game is fun and all, but it's not as cool if you only have a pitcher from your fav. team that will pitch for one inning max, and a closer that will probably only pitch one inning as well. Too bad we aren't the Cubs or the Red Sox huh?
(Lincecum: You can be in my Fave 5.)

Poll: Barry Zito... 50%?
So i'm listening to KNBR, and the topic of the night of course, is Barry Zito. Callers are calling in applauding and praising Zito. A lot of them are saying the old Zito's back, etc etc. Honestly, I wouldn't go that far, but I would say that along with the night at Cleveland, he's starting to show that he IS capable of putting up a good performance. Hopefully, he's turned the corner, and this is the beginning of something awesome ;)
I will say that I'm glad he got the win though, would be a shame if he didn't get the win after pitching like that. I know you could say the same for any of the other pitchers, but I think ole Barry needs it more than any of the other guys. ...confidence booster, motivation, etc etc.
Keep up that curveball, Z!
....BEAT LA!

Players you would like off the team
Which players on the current SF roster would you not mind being traded away or let go of? I know sometimes people get attached to certain players, whether they're a just good player or they just have a very likable sense to them.. or both; but there are also the players that one wouldn't mind being traded away or released. This doesn't necessarily mean you have to hate them or anything, but maybe you just don't see them providing much to the team.
My current list is:
Tyler Walker - not just cause of yesterday, but dude.. he just blows.
Pat Misch - no comment really. nothing special imo.
Eliezer Alfonzo - I didn't even expect him to ever be brought back up again
Jose Castillo - Mr. I-swing-@-everything and error-man
Vinnie Chulk - never really liked him to begin with
Kevin Correia - I don't know, he seems like he could be good at times.. but he reminds me of a Tomko =X
Rich Aurilia - (even though he's been better lately.. haha and I don't want him to play for any other team.. just for him to retire or something.. selfish, i know.)
*I would have Zito on the list.. (might be me just wishing) but I'm hoping he'll get better eventually.. hate to see so much money wasted!
*Sometimes I wish we had a better manager too.. some of Bochy's decisions make me so mad >=(
Hmm I know this is sorta OT but I wish Jeff Kent hadn't left the team. He was my favorite player at the time.. sucks haha.
I'd like to see what some of your guys' lists would be (be honest! we all have opinions), even though I already have an idea of who the favorite of this list would be. =X

Poll: Who will be the first Giant SP to pitch a complete game?
Actually, I'm new here so I don't know if this has been done (searched for it), but yeah. I actually want to see how many people throw in a vote for the fourth answer =)
My vote's for Cain, since he's really good when he's "on".
Lincecum throws too many pitches sometimes, and walks hurt.
Sanchez... still don't know enough 'bout the guy.
Zito.. well, aside from the obvious... I don't think Bochy would let him close out a game where he's not leading by more than 3 runs.
I'm interested in seeing the results! =)

Pinch Hitter Position?
Remember when Mark Sweeney was our full time pinch hitter. I thought that he was excellent at playing that role. What do you guys think about implementing that into our current team? Do you guys think it's a good idea (assuming we have a qualifying candidate for the position), or if it's just a waste of a player/position on the roster?
I guess it's still a pretty tough job, to get called up in the middle of a game and be asked to produce a hit, but i think it would serve to be a very useful tool to have in many situations.
Maybe we could turn Denker or Horwitz into one? My original thought was that Bowker would be good for the position, but he's turning into a good everyday player, and it might just be a waste.
