Starting the season 6-2 and finishing 9-7 is pathetic. I've scoured NFL.com, ESPN.com, CBSsports.com, and many others for reasons why this happened. I still have yet to find anything. Coaches and players have to be on notice from the GM and even the owners. I know we won the Super Bowl last year, but we can't own the division for 5 or 6 weeks and not make the playoffs.

If we could let Gilbride walk and make Pat Shumur our OC, and send Fewell packing to allow Jim Hermann to be our DC, I believe our team would be better than alright. As for Free Agents:

Sign Defensive Tackle Sammie Lee Hill 4yr/$23million

Draft Needs: OT, DE, LB, CB, SS, WR, C

1.) Alec Ogletree ILB Georgia

2.) D.J. Fluker OT Alabama

3.) Kwame Geathers DT Georgia

4.) Darius Slay CB Mississippi State

5.) Mario Benavides C Louisville

6.) Rex Burkhead HB Nebraska

7.) Jeff Mathews QB Cornell

I know it's a little early for this, but I just thought I would place one just for craps and laughs.

In round 1, we could go a number of ways, and we always pick B.P.A., but I think we will go defense.

1.) Alec Ogletree ILB Georgia: I think we could possibly look at him if he's there. A 3 down thumper of a linebacker, that has all the tools to be a very successful linebacker in the N.F.L. In my honest opinion, he's the 2nd best MLB, in the draft.

In Round 2, I think we switch to offense and still sticking with B.P.A., we take the best Offensive Tackle left on the board.

2.) D.J. Fluker RT Alabama: With our issues on the line, especially at RT, Fluker could be that dominant road grader that we have been lacking since Kareem McKenzie.

Round 3, switching back to defense, we concentrate on our secondary. Stevie Brown is a revelation in the secondary. With him, Will Hill and Kenny Phillips at Safety as well as Tyler Sash, I think we could go Cornerback. Taking the best available corner in the draft.

3.) Sanders Commings CB Georgia: At nearly 6-2 216lbs, he is a physical specimen. He is more than capable of being Webster's replacement. He could be moved to Free Safety in some defenses, but I think his best option is to stay at Cornerback.

Round 4 could have a plethora of possibilities, Offense and Defense. We have the option to take and groom a replacement for David Carr, a replacement for Ramses Barden, Justin Tuck/Osi Umenyiora. We could draft a TE. Going back to Offense, I think we take a replacement player. Someone who could be groomed as a backup, and then a possible starter.

4.) Ryan Nassib QB Syracuse: David Carr isn't getting any younger, neither is Eli Manning. This pick would make perfect sense, due in part of David Carr's age. He has the arm strength, accuracy, and size to be a good QB for a backup. He could be Eli's replacement, or we could develop him like the Falcons with Matt Schaub, and get numerous draft picks for him.

Round 6, seeing how we wasted a draft pick by trading away a 5th for an injury prone Keith Rivers, we will not be drafting anyone in the 5th round. So on with the 6th round. Another offensive player here, someone who could develop to be a solid Special Teams contributor and be a factor later on down the road

6.) Dri Archer WR/HB/KR Kent State: Smallish in stature, but a big-time playmaker. At 5-7, he's like Andrew Hawkins, but has DeSean Jackson speed, quickness, and explosiveness. He could relieve David Wilson as KR, and replace Bardens as WR.

Round 7, will be the end of a very good draft if it all falls this way. I am not saying it will, but it could.

7.) Tavita Woodard DE Hawaii: Athletic, fast, physical pass rusher, could be groomed as a replacement for a #6 DE. He could spend a year on the practice squad and take Adrian Tracy's spot if he leave's via free agency.

I know it's a little early for this, but I just thought I would place one just for craps and laughs.
