I would like to thank Bernard Pollard...
I would like to thank Bernard Pollard for falling on Rob Gronkowski's ankle because let's face it, with a healthy Gronk this game is different. Also, the usually sure-handed Wes Welker, for dropping a crucial ball that without a doubt changed the outcome of this game. I don't want to take anything away from the Giants, they were the better team and they earned this win, but man does it feel nice to have things go our way for once. And a final thank you to the officiating crew. With the exception of a questionable non call on Sterling Moore where he hit Manningham in what I thought was early, the crew did a great job in the most important game of the year. All year we watched the official screw the Giants over and over again, but not this time. It still doesn't feel real to me, but the New York Football Giants are indeed World Champions!
The injuries continue to mount...
The latest news is that Hakeem Nicks now has a knee injury. No detail on how bad it is, but with the way the Giants luck has been going I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be serious. When will it end, football gods? This is starting to get pretty ridiculous. Story here on NFL.com http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8222d142/article/giants-coach-coughlin-mum-on-nicks-knee-injury?module=HP11_headline_stack
Why have we not signed Lofa Tatupu?
I thought that the Giants should have at least looked at him with Goff, but now that Goff is out for the year come onnnn. This guy has a lot of talent and he's only 28. Kawika Mitchell? The guy that was decent at best for us FOUR years ago?? Come on Reese, this team is getting hit with injuries left and right and youre just sitting back and watching the damage. Spend some money for crying out loud, you have it.
Sage Rosenfels the new Giants backup QB
Just read the news on NFL.com, snagged him for conditional picks in 2011. Also part of the deal is Darius Reynaud, WR/KR. Couple of good moves in my opinion, this solidifies the backup QB spot and also gives the Giants another option in the return game. This most likely marks a return to the practice squad for Rhett Bomar and the end of D.J. Ware's tenure as a Giant. Your thoughts?
Keith BULLUCK
It's only a minor thing, but far too many people keep spelling this guy's name Bullock instead of the correct spelling, Bulluck. Also, how does no one know who this guy is? He was a pro bowl caliber player for the Titans for 10 years. He had a stretch of 5 consecutive seasons with 127+ tackles. He earned the nickname "Mr. Monday Night" from constantly making big plays like interceptions on the biggest stage. This is a huge addition to a, let's be honest, very weak linebacking corps. Yes he's coming off an injury, but I think an injured Keith Bulluck might be better than a fully healthy Goff or Wilkinson.

Bruce Campbell shifting to Right Guard
Here is a link to an article on NFL.com about how Campbell has been playing guard in minicamp. If he ends up starting at RG, whats the offensive line depth chart going to look like at the beginning of the season? Carlisle was the starting RG last season, any chance they move him to RT or center? My best guess at the starters would be Henderson, Gallery, Satele, Campbell, Carlisle. What do you guys think? P.S. I think it's obvious that I am a Giants fan but the Raiders are and have been one of my favorite teams for a long time.
Jason Pierre-Paul it is.
The moment we've all been waiting for...only to be disappointed. A lot of us here at BBV were not rooting for JPP at 15, and with Derrick Morgan, Dan Williams, and Bryan Bulaga still on the board most of us are scratching our heads. Pierre-Paul is no doubt an athletic freak, but his lack of experience at a high level really worries me. Everyone is going to have their own opinion about his pick, so I'll let the poll do the talking.
We've already added one Rolle...
How about Myron Rolle? I'm not convinced that Kenny Phillips will be healthy at the beginning of the season ( I don't think the Giants are either) and Myron seems like the kind of guy the Giants are constantly on the lookout for. Extremely intelligent, Myron gave up the NFL draft last year in order to become a Rhodes scholar and further pursue his education. He also recently ran a 4.5 40 time at his pro day as well as a 6.44 3-cone time, a very fast time for the 3-cone drill. It's often said that safeties and middle linebackers must be the smartest players on the defensive side of the ball, and this guy fits the bill perfectly. Most scouts put him in the 4th to 5th round range, but I believe that he could go as high as the 3rd. I know we already signed Antrel Rolle and Deon Grant, but our secondary was so bad last year and it never hurts to have a lot of depth and a player that can be groomed for the future. What do you guys think, is Myron Rolle worth taking a look at in the middle rounds?
Just looking for your opinions...
I know you guys have a lot of people coming through here trying to make their own mock drafts and gauge the interests of Cleveland Browns fans, but I was just wondering about one player - Jimmy Clausen. I know you just got Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace, but I don't think I would be comfortable with either of those guys and neither is a long term solution. So, what do you guys think about Jimmy Clausen and what do you think the Browns chance of drafting him is?
Does Cofield stay?
With Fred Robbins and Barry Cofield set to become free agents, it's pretty much a given that Robbins will not be on this team in 2010, and with so much talk about the Giants taking a DT in the draft, are the Giants going to bring back Cofield? I guess only time will tell. If the Giants do decide to hang on to Barry, I believe a DT in the first round isn't going to be likely with the roster at DT being Chris Canty, Barry Cofield, Rocky Bernard (if he's lucky enough to stay on the team), and don't forget about Jay Alford. That would give the Giants an opportunity to go after a LB or DB in the first round, two other areas in need of immediate attention. However, if Cofield is allowed to walk, DT sounds like it would almost assuredly be the Giants first round selection.
Giants QB Coach Palmer Retires
According to Michael Eisen of Giants.com, New York Giants Quarterback coach Chris Palmer is going to retire after spending three years with the team. Eli Manning has continued to progress every year and is already a Super Bowl MVP and Pro Bowl quarterback. How much is this going to affect Manning going forward? It is important to have stability at coaching positions, especially for quarterbacks. Hopefully the Giants find someone who is capable of continuing to help Eli Manning become an elite quarterback in this league.
O'Hara Giants Lone Pro Bowler
No Steve Smith? None of the analysts even mentioning his name or Eli's? It's hard to make a case for any one on the defense, but the offense has been pretty good all season. Steve Smith is currently leading the NFC in receptions and has 6 TD's, but got beat out by 'popular' picks Miles Austin, DeSean Jackson (ugh), and Sydney Rice. Also, if any Giants linemen should have made it, it should be Chris Snee.
I'm not throwing the towel in just yet...
While the G-Men have slumped into a 4 game losing skid, the players, coaches and the fans have to be feeling pretty down. This team has not played up to expectations coming into this season, but has shown flashes of being good. We're all upset with the coaching staff, but does anyone really think that Gilbride or Sheridan are going to get the axe halfway into the season? Absolutely not. Should they? That's a whole different question. The Giants are an average 5-4 heading into the bye week, but the good news is that key players like Boley, Canty, and even Aaron Ross will all have plenty of time to get healthy. A game and half behind the Cowboys in the NFC East sounds awful, but I still believe this team has what it takes to overcome that and at least make the playoffs, possibly even win the division. I'd rather have this team playing their worst football in the middle of the season before their bye than at the end of the season when the playoffs are fast approaching. So don't hit the 'flush' button on this season just yet, there's still light at the end of this tunnel.
Bradshaw has broken bone in foot
according to Ralph Vacciano, Ahmad Bradshaw has a crack in the outer part of his foot, a place that a more serious break could occur easily. bradshaw is not planning on having surgery immediately, but ultimately it will probably happen. this is not good news, bradshaw has been very effective spelling Brandon Jacobs, and without him the Giants rushing attack would take a serious blow. the injury bug has bitten hard and still has its hold on the New York Football Giants, hopefully they'll be back to full steam at the end of the season when the games really start to count.
