I'm a 53 year old college professor living in Utah. Grew up in Indiana, became a Giants fan when I was 11, and my Little League team won the city championship, which won us a trip to Cincinatti to see a Reds game. The Reds played the Giants, and we got to take infield with the big leaguers. I tried to get Pete Rose's autograph, and he was rude and obnoxious. I ran off, trying not to cry, and ended up on the Giants' side of the field, where Willie McCovey took care of me, signed my glove, introduced me to his teammates. Giants won the game, on a home run by Willie Mays, and I've been a fanatical Giants fan ever since. Married a South Bay girl, go back every summer to see in-laws and catch as many Giants games as possible, follow the rest on the internet, MLB.com etc. Love independent film, avant-garde drama, jazz, the 49ers and fond memories of Dick Dietz. Hate the Dodgers, not much else.
