Pac 12 Basketball Scheduling Plan released for next season and beyond

UCLA plays USC twice every year as usual. For the next 2 seasons, we play the following teams twice each (home and away): Arizona, Arizona State, California, Stanford, Washington and Washington State We play the other 4 teams (Colorado, Utah, Oregon and Oregon State) once per year. Each 2 years, the schedule rotates so that the teams you play twice changes.

Misery at Cal - Our troubles have just caught up to us...

So the roller coaster ride continues...  after the disastrous 0-2 start punctuated by the 35-0 blanking by the Trees and then the rising from the ashes to beat 3 straight, including ranked Houston...

Well, call it self-torture, but even though I am working and will not be able to go this weekend, I caught myself browsing the likes of the ucla athletics/ticketmaster and stubhub websites. Looks like some good seats still available (and probably cheaper and easier to get than the rest of our remaining home games), just in case anyone was wondering and is able to go. As for me, I'll rush home after work, avoid any texts, and go straight to the dvr just like last week, hoping to hear the 12th man show up in full force like we have recently...

Chills of another kind - Thanks to BN and Thoughts about TX

Well, as anyone can see and I've professed in the past, I'm a newbie to the site.  What you may not be able to see is that I, for one, am hooked on BN.  I've been back in the area for about a year...

Boise State Bronco's AD Bleymaier (a former Bruin) and How He Created the Bronco's Blue Battlefield

From the fishwrap, "Bleymaier, the godfather of Boise's blue grass, grew up in San Pedro, played football at UCLA in the early 1970s and was an assistant athletic director for the Bruins before arriving at Boise State in 1981." Interesting story about the blue field which the Oregon State squad will take on the Bronco's in this weekend's matchup. Apparently, Oregon St. even painted one of their practice fields blue to prepare. I, personally, never liked it, although I must admit it definitely catches the eye. I'm sure it does give them an advantage too, camouflaging their players and all.

Larimore is Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week

From the website, "Larimore, a sophomore from Santa Clarita, Calif., collected a career-high and team-high 11 tackles (10 solos), including three for loss, forced a fumble and broke up a pass in UCLA’s 31-13 win over No. 23 Houston. " Congrats to Patrick Larimore! We all took note of all his hits. I'm glad to see that the Pac-10 did as well. Hopefully, it'll add to the momentum going into this week's monster game at Texas! Jetski and Jeff Locke also got nods (nominated, although not chosen).

Coach featured in new UCLA Magazine

Maybe He had something to do with our win... :)

Case Keenum Cleared to Play vs. UCLA tomorrow

Looks like he is still a game-time decision, but has been medically cleared per protocol. One of the team physicians, Dr. Lowe, states: "Once an athlete is able to be placed into game conditions anxiety, bright lights and crowd noise can trigger some residual symptoms from the previous concussion." "If an athlete has to fly to a game, changes in barometric pressure with take-offs and landings can also trigger concussion-like symptoms such as headaches, nausea and dizziness. If that's the case the athlete wouldn't play."
