OT: Private Colleges Have Higher Grade Inflation
I just thought this was an interesting read from the NY Times blog. I guess money can buy you better grades.
"In other words, both categories of schools inflated their grades, but private schools inflated their grades more...The authors suggest that these laxer grading standards may help explain why private school students are over-represented in top medical, business and law schools and certain Ph.D. programs: Admissions officers are fooled by private school students’ especially inflated grades."

Hi All and Happy Thanksgiving.
Hopefully we've moved beyond yesterday's anger and frustration from the desecration of our beloved Bruin statue. Check out Coach Neuheisel's twitter page, where he noted that the UCLA staff has been working tirelessly to repair the damage done.
They've even built "a seemingly inpenetrable [sic] den," according to RN. His page includes links to pictures of the before and after.
My thanks to the workers for the incredible job.
Wish I could be on campus to see this new den, though.

I'm a current student at UCLA and today is the first day of Winter Quarter. This afternoon, when I headed to my dorm, I was very glad to see Presley. He was with a woman, who I believe is his mother. His father was also there but was walking much ahead of them. They were leaving the hill where the dorms are, walking down Bruinwalk to campus. When I went to dinner at De Neve with my friends, he was also there having dinner with EJ Woods and another FB player. Didn't introduce myself (too timid), but it was great to really see him on his first official day as a UCLA student-athlete.
