Pounding The Rock We could be a Cavalier's Fan...

As sad as all of us are, we could be like the Cavs fanbase, who have waited 7 loooong years for their King to bring them a Championship. I just read a great post by Wojnarowski about how egotistical Lebron and his cronies are. It makes me happy to have great players, who care about their team, above all else. Tim Duncan is the reason our Spurs have won 4 Championships and established his team as THE Dynasty of the 2000's. I really do not care where Lebron ends up, because I know that his ego will always get in the way. I am really sorry for all of the fans who have invested their hopes in Lebron James. He is like Jordan and Kobe in that he has an enormous ego, but he lacks that killer instinct to win it all, despite the fact that he "cares about winning above all else". I find solace in the fact that we have All-Stars like Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker who put everything aside for the team, and their loyal fans.

I came upon this video earlier. It is the best video of Ginibili's greatness I have seen.

Pounding The Rock Heading to San Antonio

Hey all, I am going to SA for the weekend on the 9th (Saturday). I am heading there from Wichita Falls (waayyy up north texas) and I was wondering if yall knew when our favorite team holds their practices. If anyone can give me some info, or any fun things to do in SA (other than the riverwalk, hemisfair park, AT&T Center) it would be really helpful. Also, if anyone knows of a shop dedicated to spurs merchandise, I really want to find me a Hill jersey. (it's all maverick shit stuff up here.

GOSPURSGO!

Pounding The Rock Lottery?

*This is just me wondering* If we are unable to acquire a key wing player, or PF/C during this offseason  should we throw this next season in the can and get a lottery pick? Kinda like we did when The Admiral was hurt and we were able to get Duncan. I'm not going to act like I know college basketball, because frankly, I do not. But Surely, surely there will be a young up and coming player that we could get our hands on right? Let me know what yall think.

Pounding The Rock Get Over It!!

Well the message boards and convos are alive again with anti-Spur chatter, as usual. They need to take a page from the Eagles and GET OVER IT! I've almost, keyword almost, become immune to ridiculous people implying that the Spurs are a sinking ship. How long have they, and ESPN been saying this? 3 years now? Every now and then I'll get into a heated online debate during a game on the Conversation page on ESPN and it leaves me fuming. But then I look at our 4 Championship banners and everything seems to be OK. I really wish Timmy can rally our boys and get at least 2 more before its time for his jersey to make its way to the rafters.

Pounding The Rock Parker needs to have score first mentality

If we are going to make it anywhere w/o Manu this postseason, and with Timmy's knees the way they are, Parker is going to have to play 35+ hard minutes each game with a score first mentality. Is it just me or does it seem like he can get to the paint willingly, at anytime? As I have been watching these final games down the stretch I have begun to realize that Parker doesn't attempt to get in the lane as much as he should. I'm not saying for him to drive EVERY single time, because our 3-point shooting is what keeps us afloat. But if he would look to drive about 60% of the time our offense would be a force to be reckoned with. The way he was beating Oden and Pryz in the paint early on in the game made me smile because I am hoping, praying that Pop realizes this and pushes Tony to take over every game, instead of having Timmy post up 50% of our offensive plays. Tell me if I am being being too Parker (trigger) happy in my opinion?
