The Slipper Still Fits New Rivalry For Gonzaga?

Jim Hayford has had great success in exciting the spokane community about basketball other than basketball, while building Whitworth into a D-3 power. Recently, Hayford was named the new head coach of EWU, this provided a similiar challenge that he faced at Whitworth, where he built that program from nothing, to the #1 team in the country this season. If he has similiar success with EWU, he could likely revive the days of the Presidents cup, and the major rivalry between EWU and Gonzaga, which would liven the basketball community in Spokane to new heights.

With Glen Dean recently saying he will stay, it could create an instant showing of success similiar to Billy Grier at USD.  After Dean said he will stay that secured the fact that EWU will not lose one player from last years team which showed signs of good ball, with their win over Montana.

If Gonzaga plays EWU again this year, it could have the makings of an upset, I want to know if you, my fellow zag fans would love or hate the return of the presidents cup? and your thoughts, if any, on the new hiring of Jim Hayford.

The Slipper Still Fits Giacoletti leaving?

I thought that Ray had turned down the Northern Illinois job, but according to a 2 day old ESPN rumors he is likely to sign with NIU for the head coaching position. If this is true I would wonder who would replace him as an assistant, and what repercussions does this have for Lloyd, or Few possibly leaving? I was hoping you guys could bring up some names you think could replace him, or people you would love to see as an assistant for Gonzaga.

The Slipper Still Fits 2010 Recruit Kendall Williams

A recruit I am very intrigued by is 6'3" PG from California, Kendall Williams. He already committed to UCLA then was either dropped by or dropped UCLA. I think he would be a good fit as someone to come in at either PG or SG for meech on an offday. I think Williams and manny at the 1 and 2 when steve and meech are on the bench would be a tough defensive duo due to their athleticism and length.
