Daily Norseman Fantasy Football League 2 - Week 1 Results

Hello, Viking fans. Now with Monday Night Football being over for this week, all the games for week one are finished. Here are the results from all six games in the Daily Norseman Fantasy Football League 2.

Aussie purple team Vs. Gonzo's Friend's Team

Missing the draft, Gonzo2 struggled to prepare a solid lineup for week one. I did what I could, but that wasn't close to being enough to stop Aussie purple team. Powered by a dominating Eagles defense (38 points), Aussie purple team ass-raped me by a final score of 128.05 to 66. Things will change next week.

Masked Mooners Vs. All Day and All Night

The Masked Mooners took this one by about 30 points. Nothing explosive by their roster, but steadiness got them through. Their top scorer, Trent Edwards (21.1 pts.), was on the bench. All Day and All Night didn't receive much production from three of their premier starting players. Those being Matt Forte, Brandon Jacobs, and Brandon Marshall. They all combined for a total of 16.5 points. Final Score: 97.4 - 67.75.

The Vagtastic Voyage Vs. IowaVikings

IowaVikings has a fantastic roster. Everyone starter scored at least 9 points. However, their highest scorer, Matt Hasselbeck (24.25), was on the bench. IowaVikings is dangerous. Especially if Kurt Warner puts up numbers similar to last year's. The Vagtastic Voyage had both JaMarcus Russell and Shaun Hill on the bench. Both of them put up better numbers then starter Matt Schaub. With maybe a little roster tweaking, The Vagtastic Voyage could emerge with a lot better starters. Final Score: 55.7 - 103.6.

LAWDAWG VIKES Vs. Really Rottens

LAWDAWG VIKES got nearly nothing out of their starters besides none other than Tom Brady (28.8 pts.). Their bench had three players putting up good numbers. Now to the Really Rottens. What can I say? They have great players. Matt Ryan, Reggie Wayne, and Tony Gonzalez all contributed greatly to the 30.35 point win. Final Score: 67.6 - 97.95.

NYVIKES Vs. AllDay-n-AllNight

NYVIKES has the best roster by FAR. Powered by Tony Romo (38.85) and Purple Jesus (40.8) himself, they scored a whopping 142.45 points! Other notable players include Thomas Jones and a benched Mark Sanchez. AllDay-n-AllNight struggled to keep up with NYVIKES, but scored a great 103.3 points. Their starting QB is Drew-freaking-Brees (44.9 points!). Another great season by Brees could propel this team a long way. Final Score: 142.45 - 103.3.

Schefters Schisms Vs. VikesGal

Schefters Schisms had good numbers from 5 out of their 8 starters and pulled a victory out of their asses. VikesGal can put up some great numbers with a little roster tweaking, having Brett Favre and high-scoring Julius Jones on the bench. I'm looking forward to see how Brett Favre will impact VikesGal. He could do great, and he could do terrible. =). Final Score: 86.65 - 68.25.

Favre Addresses Illegal Crackback Block

We all know about the illegal block Favre threw on Eugene Wilson against the Houston Texans on Monday. Favre addressed the situation today and stated that he hoped he would be okay. Favre also said he never tried to injure anybody, including himself.

Well, looking at the game tape, it looked as if Favre meant to injure Eugene Wilson. Maybe a Packers Favre would do that, but never a Vikings Favre. Packers Favre did not have a soul, as he tortured Vikings' fans for than a decade and a half.

EDIT - The NFL will make a decision by Friday whether or not to fine Brett Favre for the crackback block. I'm not trying to be hostile against Favre, but he should be fined a respectable amount. If they fine Jared Allen for those hits on Schaub and Rodgers, they better fine Brett for that block.

Daily Norseman Fantasy Football League 2 - DRAFT REMINDER

For those who signed up for The Official Daily Norseman Fantasy Football League 2, I would like to remind you that the live draft will be held Thu 9/3/09 @ 7:00 PM Central. Tomorrow. 7:00 p.m. Get it through your head. I hope that everybody can attend and get to pick all their players for the upcoming fantasy football season.

Please do not ask to have the date or time changed, it is too late to edit any current settings. Below, I will list the draft order.

Guitar Hero Battle: Chris Kluwe Vs. Chris Mortensen

Hello, Vikings fans. I was browsing the list of videos on ESPN's YouTube Channel, and found some interesting Vikings videos. One of them featured a a heated Guitar Hero pro face-off between Chris Kluwe and ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

The video also features Jared Allen and Chad Greenway giving Mort an oil change. Brad Childress also makes an appearance near the end of the video.

The video also confirms that Chris Kluwe is a nerd, Jared Allen is still awesome, and Chad Greenway is a nice guy.

Notes- I still hate ESPN.

Daily Norseman Fantasy Football League 2 - For Those Who Didn't Get To Join Or Want To Have Fun

Sadly, I was late getting a team registered for Gonzo's League. I saw some of your comments on the post and decided to start a league so some of you can play fantasy football this year, too. There are 11 spots open. Like Gonzo's, this is a first-come first-serve league. There is not a league password.

The draft will be held on September 3rd at 7:00 P.M.

Mavs Sign F Tim Thomas

Another player on the roster. I love the idea of signing a new forward, but I would rather have someone with defensive skills. Tim Thomas almost has 1000 career 3-pointers, so there is no doubt that he can shoot. Maybe would could have inked someone a little younger-Thomas is a 12 year vet. What are your thoughts and comments?

Non-Related: Billy Mays Dead At 50

Another sad moment for the world. Billy Mays has been found dead by his wife at his home. Another tragedy. When will this madness end?

I have always been a huge Billy Mays fan. To see him go at the age of 50 puts me in severe shock. I have used his products for as long as I can remember. Rest In Peace, Billy Mays.

First Heath Ledger, Bernie Mac, James Brown, Farah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Ed Thomas, Ed McMahon, and now this. =(

Please hold these people in your prayers tonight.

Where the hell did the Daily Norseman Logo/Picture come from? Rumors are swirling around the site saying you painted it with the tooth of a woolly mammoth. This question cannot be left unanswered. Did you perhaps steal it? Where, Gonzo, where? Where did it come from? Thank you.
