The Kansas City Chiefs announced Monday that they’ve decided to release troubled RB Larry Johnson, a move that will have fantasy implications.

Johnson, once the top player in fantasy football, struggled to produce this season. He averaged 2.7 yards per carry and didn’t score a touchdown in seven games before being released.

That lack of production doesn’t bode well for his replacements, RBs Jamaal Charles and Kolby Smith.

Charles got the start in Johnson’s absence against the Jaguars but finished with just six carries and 55 scrimmage yards. Of course, the Chiefs were behind for most of the contest and had to abandon the run in the second half.

A talented and versatile back, Charles has the skills to make an impact in fantasy circles (especially in PPR leagues). However, he’s not useful as more than a flex option in larger formats.

Smith, who is coming off major knee surgery, appears to be the team’s red-zone back. He was on the field when the Chiefs got inside the Jaguars’ 20-yard line and appears to be the short-yardage back in this apparent committee.

The fact that he’ll be given a chance to score makes Smith worth a look off the waiver wire. RB Dantrell Savage also saw work in the backfield, but he’s third in the pecking order.

Fantasy owners need to remember that coach Todd Haley’s offense is a pass-heavy attack, so running backs are going to be inconsistent in the stat sheets.

But anytime a change of the guard occurs in an NFL backfield, it’s worth taking a chance on the new components in fantasy leagues.

As for Johnson, he should be released in all formats.

Bolts From The Blue Young Pats Fan...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look i don't think I have ever seen something so funny as i did last night at the Q.It was kind of sad, but REALLY funny.Sorry to say,but that happens.A teenage Pats fan was being booed from section to section as he was hanging with his Charger Fan buddy. He had a tough time finding a place to sit, as he left every section people started to throw hot dogs and nachos at him.He got brave and picked one up and threw it at a girl then he just got targeted even more.It was hilarious,i know i shouldn't encourage other people to do this, but the next time i hope the hot dogs have extra mustard...lol...My bad.I just can't stop laughing about it.Little dude i hope you don't take it personal, just don't where your Pats jersey to the stadium next time you go.

What do you guys think, were the guys at the stadium out of line?Or was it good ol' foot ball behavior?Either way i think it was f'n hilarious.Like i said sorry lil man...lol...ish happens!!!

Bolts From The Blue Larry English - When Should He Sign?

Should the guy just sign already? I mean do you guys think that he might be a hold out and ask for gobs of dinero? Or will he fall in line and get with the program and become an excellent pass rusher for our monster "d"?

What do you think i hope he is in that rotation week 1 @ the Raiders and gets a couple of sacks on J. Russell, that would be cool.I want to see what kind of dance he does as well, after the sack,Phillips gots the bowling strike, and Merriman the lights out, what do you think it will be? Or better yet what will he call it,ant suggestions? I'll start how about ," The English Lesson" or "English 101"....LOL....just a thought...well i hope to just see him play, and hope he becomes a force like Merriman.Wow what a sight that would be,i would love it...damn i can't wait for the season to begin....GO CHARGERS!!!!

Bolts From The Blue 7 Million Dollars for Coaching....on the couch!!!!!

Wow,Mike Shanahan is reportedly making 7 million dollars this season for coaching at home...lol.He had 2 years remaining on his contract before he got fired in december by the Denver Broncos. He can only receive said amount only if he keeps mum about the Broncos and anything going on with the organization, according to an article in the Denver Post written by the lovable Woody Paige;some might remember him from Cold Pizza and his frequent stint on Around The Horn. All Mike has to do is not bad mouth his former team in any kind of way and he gets paid, great deal huh? i wish i could get paid all that money for doing nothing...lol...maybe i should become a HOF coach and lead the bolts to a championship..twice.Well good luck Mr. Shanahan, the Broncos are going through alot this year. With their probowl qb leaving,a probowl wr wanting to leave as well and a 32 year unproven head coach replacing you,,,good luck on not being able to have a public opinion. What do you guys think?Would you be able to keep your mouth shut about a company that fired you and brought in a new YOUNGER guy and get your owed salary? or would you retaliate and lose it all,but have the sweet taste of revenge to savor?
