Twinkie Town POLL: Who is your Favorite Twins Player? (Non-Pitcher)

Here is a simple question to see who is the favorite non-pitching Twins player from everybody on Twinkie Town.  Joe Mauer will probably be the favorite, but maybe just maybe there will be a surprise on the horizon.  Hopefully there will be enough votes so we can get a good sampling.  Could someone like Danny Valencia get some votes?  Jim Thome? Justin Morneau?   Lets see who will win and Thanks for participating!  Go Twins!

Twinkie Town Help: Twins Players Nicknames?

I know The Common Man did this with a few players, but I though with the season just around the corner, we could come up with some fun nicknames for our current Twins players.  I've been thinking about this at work for the past week (don't tell my boss) and I think this would be kind of fun.  Many of these may have been coined from somebody already, but lets see who can come up with the best.  Feel free criticise, make up your own, or improve mine.

Here is my list:

C: Joe "Warning Track Power" Mauer

1B: Justin "I fight bears and drink maple syrup" Morneau

2B: Tsuyoshi "I am in the end credits of mario bros" Nishioka

3B: Danny "Hide your daughters" Valencia

SS: Alexi "Caught Looking" Casilla

LF: Delmon "I swing at every first pitch" Young

CF: Denard "Lets Get Denarded" Span

RF: Micheal "Inning Ending Double Play" Cuddyer

DH: Jason "The Only Prescription is More" Kubel

DH: Jim "Thome is my Homme" Thome

P: Carl "Pavstach" Pavano

P: Francisco "Cisco Kid" Liriano

P: "Big Spot Scott" Baker

P: Kevin "Slow-Ride" Slowey

P: Nick "Blackburn singing in the dead of night" Blackburn

The question is simple. Who is the most valuable player on this year's Minnesota Twins team?  There are many good options to choose from, but it's a tough question.  Any of these guys could be this year's MVP.  Who will come out victorious?I'm guessing there will be no clear cut answer.  We'll leave that up to you.
Lets hope the Twins contiune pushing toward the best record in the league!

GO TWINS!

Twinkie Town POLL: How will the Twins do against the KC Royals?

With Joe Mauer coming back from the DL on Friday, the Twins have a great chance at gaining some ground on Divisional Rivals this weekend when they play the KC Royals.  The Twins will start off by facing the ever greasy Sidney Ponson (RHP).  The Twins have many lefty batters that will be in the lineup.  Can the Twins gain ground on the other teams ahead of them?

Twinkie Town POLL: How will the Twins finish 2009?

The Minnesota Twins finished last year in Chicago missing the playoffs by a play-in game.  Many thought the Twins deserved the playoff spot instead of the Chi-Sox, but nothing can be done about it now.  The Twins have virtually the same roster plus the nice aquisition of Joe Crede at third base.  Justin Morneau, Joe Mauer, and Joe Nathan are only getting better, and a young staff of starting pitchers are starting to gain confidence.  Can the Twins do as well as they did last year; better?

Twinkie Town What WAS the BEST Twins Game of 2008?

The Twins played the Chicago White Sox on 9-25-08 and had a rough going at the beginning of the game.  Kevin Slowey was pitching well, but got injured during the game and left leaving the Twins down 6-1.

The Twins slowly came back and Denard Span Tied the game in the 8th with a Triple to score Carlos Gomez.

Alexi Casilla lined to center to win the game with a walk-off single in the tenth!

In my opinion, by far the best game of 2008!

Twinkie Town How do you get these games???

The Twins played at home on Sept. 25th 2008 against the White Sox in an amazing come from behind nail biter! Denard Span hit the game tying triple in the the eighth inning and Alexi Casilla won the game in extras. How can I attain a copy of this game on DVD???  I think this would be an amazing game to have on hard copy.  Please let me know if you have any idea.  Thanks
