Where now
First off i want to say i wanted to wake up to a Mario Williams signed post i went back to bed 4 times to make it happen
secondly CanadianBillsFan i think a tuna feta cheese and hot sauce pizza sounds really delish
FLASH BACK remember this post Why Mario will come to buffalo
since we really dont have any cap room for more free agents roughly 10 mill enough to sign the draft picks
i think its time to cut a few players
Dwan Edwards saves 4.475 mill
Spencer Johnson saves 3.5 mill
Tyler Thigpen saves 2 mill
total savings 9.975 million
total cap 20 million gives me roughly 10 million to play with i can go after 1 big name or fill a few holes im choosing to fill holes now
Marcus McNeill OT he has been injured the past two seasons the same goes for Demetrius Bell but when healthy McNeill is light years ahead of Bell i think we could bring him in on a incentive laden contract avg 4 mill a year
Chris Carr CB was a healthy scratch most of last season had a very good 2010 3 years 9 million
on to the draft
Pick 10 Traded to the Seattle Seahawks for picks 12,76,106
Seattle Picks Ryan Tannehill QB Texas A&M
Pick 12 Buffalo Selects David Decastro G Stanford
Pick 42 Buffalo Selects Stephen Hill WR Georgia Tech
Pick 72 Buffalo Selects Frank Alexander DE Oklahoma
Pick 76 Buffalo Selects Vontaze Burfict ILB Arizona State
Pick 105 Buffalo Selects Nick Foles QB Arizona
Pick 106 Buffalo Selects Dwight Jones WR North Carolina
Pick 124 Buffalo Selects Coryell Judie CB Texas A&M
Pick 136 Buffalo Selects Matt McCants OT UAB
Pick 139 Buffalo Selects Josh Chichester TE Louisville
Pick 167 Buffalo Selects Darius Fleming OLB Norte Dame
Pick 200 Buffalo Selects Max Gruder OLB Pitt
Why Mario Williams will come to Buffalo
Many people are stating Mario Williams will never come to Buffalo but does not give any reasons why many will say no superstar will come to Buffalo That assumption is not factual yes Buffalo has pursued free agents and have landed many but we fans only lock on to the ones that choose not to come here I'm here with a few reasons why Mario Williams will come to Buffalo
1) The Ralph there are not many pure football stadiums left in the league i count Green Bay Chicago Denver New Orleans and in my humble opinion Green Bay is the only one who has a better pure football stadium than the Ralph good thing Green Bay doesnt have the cap room or a 4/3 defense
2) The Stache's 4/3 This defense is tailored to Mario and his athletic talents
The Over/Under 4-3 defense is a variation of the basic 4-3 defense that allows the defense to shift more linemen to the suspected point of attack. The alignment features four down lineman and three linebackers in the front seven, just as in a basic 4-3.
This is the same defensive line formation the Giants run
3) Kyle Williams and Marcell Dareus with these two fellas penetrating up the middle the more the offensive tackles have to be left all alone for Mario Williams to destroy
4) Buffalo The city itself the food the people the FANS Bills fans are the most loyal hardcore SOBs around nobody can top the tailgates the soul crushing abayarde the deafening sounds in the Ralph after a big play
5) a chance to de-sanchize and de-beiber two QBS
6) the chance to be part of something special that has not happened in fifty years A Bills Championship giving Buffalo its first championship since the sixties that alone can make men die happy
there you have it my six reasons why Mario Williams will be in a Bills uniform in 2012

If you were GM how would you run a team
The title says it all I'm not referring to how you would run the bills per say, but a NFL team and what kind of GM would you be.
what do you look for in a coach what type of coach would you go for a hotshot coordinator or a grizzled vet
How would you scout players, what interests you in a player Size Speed Game tape etc.
What type of free agents do you go for .
How do you play the draft do you stay do you trade down or trade up, would you Ditka a draft or two in his case for one player ( in case you dont know Mike Ditka traded away the saints entire 1999 draft picks and a 1st and 3rd in 2000 to move up 7 spots for Ricky Williams )
would you cut bait on picks or FAs that dont pan out
I'll tell you what type of GM i am

Everybody needs to chill
everybody needs to chill out the bills are a young team and we are in a rebuild it gets really old really fast with the bills stink fire chan nix is a idiot comments during this losing streak and it needs to stop
what were your expectations on this season really? if you're saying super bowl or playoffs you're lying to yourself
we all thought a losing season was upon us and some 8-8 so is 5-5 really that far off ?yes are team is young and we have a qb whose play swings up and down like a bi-polar fashion model how many wins did we have last year like 3 so we are plus 2 on isnt that a positive on this year i think so
the fan posts about how the bills suck or chan gailey shouldn't be the coach we should of got this guy or that guy are not needed why is every bills fan so quick to jump off the wagon when it runs into some rough road what happened to #BillsMafia and buffalo is beast i implore you not to tweet the players with negativity tweet positive tweets im pretty sure they know they lost today they were there show them the fans are behind them and WE WIN AND LOSE TOGETHER
so knock off the negative and stay positive and in the words of abayarde
Do not worry my Whagon Blasters. Today we. Protect our House with the power of our Souls. Stronger than anything in the universe we will Unleash The forces against does who step Foot in our Holly ground. They will fill the power of the Buffalo nation like never before. The earth will hear our sound Of Battle the. Roar of our fans will travel to the air like blasting lighting from the. Gods Today we stand once more like the Fist that will blast our opponent their Souls we will take and send it to Obiblion were all the other ones walk lost for ever

Time for a mock already?
i am assuming buffalo will be picking in the range of 20-22
also assuming nix will continue the trend of getting bigger
Pick 1 Morris Claiborne CB LSU
the bills need a secondary with the lack of a pass rush the corners are getting exposed more than ever Florence is in his 30s McGee as well time to inject some youth and height (6'1) to the secondary
Pick 2 Vinny Curry OLB Marshall
are pass rush has been zilch i think its time to remove Kelsey and get bigger and tougher in that department
Pick 3 Ray Ray Armstrong SS Miami
Wilson has been amazing this season age is a factor as well as injuries Ray Ray is a raw talented tackle machine
Pick 4 Josh Chichester TE Louisville
a converted receiver stands tall at 6'8 and 240 good speed decent blocker could be are Aaron Hernandez
PIck 5 ( second 4th ) Carmen Messina UNM
yes i am a homer but the dude can tackle and UNM is ALWAYS on defense
Pick 6 (seahawks pick) D'Anton Lynn CB Penn State
another big fast corner we need them bad
Pick 7 JR Sweezy DE NC State
rotation rotation rotation rotation keep are guys fresh Sweezy is a solid rotational player
Pick 8 Kyle Wilber OLB Wake Forest
another big pass rusher
pick 9 Art Forst OG Rutgers
the dude is massive and will move people at will
observations from the pats game
we'll i would first like to sat WE WIN WE WIN WE WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN second thing i observed was WE WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINWIN WIN

Supplemental Draft 2011
There are six prospects in this years supplemental draft
Terrelle Pryor QB,WR,TE Ohio State
Caleb King RB Georgia
Mike McAdoo DE,LB North Carolina
Torez Jones DB Western Carolina
Tracy Wilson DB Northern Illinois
Keenen Mace DE Lindenwood
Below are my choices
Terrelle Pryor has hopes of being a NFL QB he very well could be if the team drafting him has every intention of sitting him for 2-3 years, He ran a 4.41 official forty at his pro day leading some to believe he is better suited at WR or TE. Tightend would be the spot i would see him playing at 6'5 230 he would be great in space and could see the field from the start
pick worth 5th as a TE 7th as a QB
Mike Mcadoo here is where it could get interesting we do need pass rushers but with Merriman seemingly back to his probowl self and Carrington finally being able to get Kelsey off the field from his stats it looks like the last time he played football was 2009 two years away is a long time
pick worth 6th
Keenen Mace have not seen much on this guy except he use to play in the indoor football league he is listed at 314 pounds and runs a 4.8 forty with the uncertain depth along the line he is worth a shot
pick worth 4th-7th

so cap is coming let the pickups begin
so with the cap being put into place a few teams are over the cap *cough* dallas *cough* *cough*
i have been thinking on the players buffalo should target when this happens
dallas
Doug Free LT/RT they may not have the cash to spend on him
Martellus Bennett TE could be a interesting find stuck under the wonder boy Whitten
Bradie James LB 3/4 linebacker
Antonio Cromartie CB our db squad could use a playmaker like this
LaMarr Woodly LB dead fit for a 3/4 defense
Bucs
Aqib Talib CB i prefer Cromartie but Talib is a very nice second place
Chris Cooley TE yes he could be a cap cut
Ryan Diem LT protects Manning well sorta
Tyson Jackson DE due a lot of money could be first to go nice depth could be that 4th de we need
Green Bay
Nick Barnett LB 3/4 linebacker we need them
thoughts any players you would want
bills vs steelers highlights interesting note check the 5:15 mark and who was in the back field after a nice move and would be sack if he didnt get horse collared
The NFL wideouts a division ranking AFC EAST edition
A post by Sergeant Major Thor about wideout corp rankings got me thinking about this and i just wanted to dive in to this a whole lot further with it so lets get started
key notes
deep pass % is The proportion of pass targets in which a receiver is greater than 15 yards beyond the line of scrimmage.
catch rate is The proportion of passes targeted to a receiver that are caught.
i am excluding tight ends and WRs under 10 targets but will add in the receptions for a accurate catch per drop rate
AFC EAST
Buffalo Bills targets receptions touchdowns yards per catch catch rate % deep pass %
Steve Johnson 142 82 10 13.1 57.7 20.4

Buffalo receivers had 26 drops a avg wideout catch rate % of 54.16
there were 257 catchable balls thrown there way and had 231 receptions for a 89.88% completion rate or 1 drop per every 8.88 receptions
( side note on the Bills tight ends added 22 receptions on 25 targets which added to the Bills numbers 0.949% completion and 0.85 more reception per drop)

When FA starts this is who i want
Well when ever free agency starts i have a few people i would like to bring in undrafted FAs are in here as well
i know that the bills will not go after most of these players but a fan can dream
Quarterback
Pat Devlin Delaware the only udfa that would have a shot on our team
JP Losman Tulane/Buffalo/Las Vegas/Oakland/Seattle yes i want him back he didnt get a fair shot and at worst we can sub him in on 3 and 50 to throw to Evans
Tyler Thigpen he has knowledge of Gailey and his workings and is a definite upgrade over Brohm
Tight Ends
Weslye Saunders South Carolina he is a run blocking TE who can catch some passes
Kevin Boss Giants a good run blocker redzone threat
Offensive Tackles
Jared Gaither Ravens he's still young and when healthy is a absolute force on the line
Marshal Yanda Ravens can play tackle or guard and Buffalo likes versatility
Offensive Center
Samson Satele Raiders i do want would in the center but i like depth as well for the just in case moments
Kris O'Dowd USC can come in and compete for a spot in camp when ever that is
Defensive Ends
Shaun Ellis Jets nothing i would like more to take a jets player and use it against them and Ellis could come cheap
Marcus Spears Cowboys a run stuffing end with very little against the pass
Rush Linebacker
Vernon Gholston Jets wait what why well he's 25 a lot of upside i know we have Maybin and Merriman already but if "Lights Out" gets "Knocked Out" it leaves us with Moats and Maybin i trust Moats but Maybin stiff iffy on
Strong Side Linebacker
Quincy Black Tampa Bay We have Kelsey as a starter we need depth for the inevitable Kelsey moments
Cornerback
Fabian Washington Ravens Starting caliber corner injuries have hurt him if he stays healthy can be a real nice corner for us
Kendric Burney North Carolina Depth at corner is a must could be a starter in a few years
My 2011 draft how i would do it
The only way i would trade down is if my player wasnt on the board anymore
and that player i would take at 3 is Patrick Peterson CB LSU 6'0 219lbs
this is the pick buffalo should make these kinda of cornerbacks do not come around often last one i remember was 2003 a 6'2 CB by the name of Nnamdi Asomugha based on that alone i would draft him but if you add in his speed and tracking abilities his 32 inch arms you have to draft him carolina and denver will be kicking themselves for not drafting him and by drafting a lockdown corner you can fix the run by added players in the box and leaving him by himself all alone on peterson island where he will vote the wideout off his island and *cough* Whitner *cough* will be in the box to stop the run
with pick 34 its a lot tougher to take in account i want to say Kyle Rudolph would be there but would Atlanta draft him in the first to be the heir to Gonzalez or could we grab a 1st round DE that falls or Maybe a Tackle ? tough call for Nix especially if his Board has players bunched up but i have my board and my pick is
Jaabel Sheard OLB/ILB Pittsburgh 6'3 264lbs
Von Miller is a great pick for anybody but with the talent reaching deep in this draft i dont see the need to draft a Linebacker till round 2 Shead is a great pick for us he has one heck of a bull rush he lacks the speed needed to get around the edge he could play inside or outside Shead can help out in two positions and Buffalo loves that
with pick 68 there still will be DEs and CBs and even a few TEs that i would target but there is this voice in my head its Gus Johnsons voice and he is yelling tha the Bills RT has just been Bull rushed in to Fitzpatrick for a Safety thats why my pick would have to be
James Brewer OT Indiana 6'6 323lbs
Classic right tackle mold not as strong in the run blocking as you would like in a right tackle but can be coached up has long 35 inch arms to keep defenders off of him a solid depth player with the ability to win the starting job in camp
TRADE ALERT I trade Picks 100 and 133 to the Ravens for Pick 90 in the 3rd round and select
Greg Romeus DE Pittsburgh 6'5 264lbs
What a steal in the 3rd round i get a first round player who missed all of his senior season because of injury Greg can keep the edge and with his 35 inch arms his swim moves are just so beautiful to see will be the bookend to Alex Carrington for years to come
with pick 122 im starting to target high upside players and small school players as im looking at my board im thinking how has nobody snatched this guy up yet i put the call in ignoring all trade calls and tell them to rush that card up there and select
Virgil Green TE Nevada 6'3 252lbs
this is what i wanted to see from Nelson unfortunately all i want to see from Nelson now be able to get on the field maybe Nelson comes around and we could have a two tight end set that rivals New England Green is nimble for a tight end has hops 42 inches and is a decent blocker
with pick 169 i select no surprise here
Cedric Thorton DE Southern Arkansas 6'3 309lbs
i have always been a fan of Thorton this dude is massive and would be a welcome addition to my DLine rotation great bullrush and a sweet punch to keep the blockers at bay
with pick 206 and 245 im basically looking for a long shot kinda of player a real boom or bust type
with pick 206 i pick
Darrius Morris OT/OG Temple 6'4 319
could play any position along the oline which could get him a roster spot
with pick 245 i pick
Keanemana Silva SS Hawaii 6'1 206lbs
ran a 4.4 forty only reason i would pick him a super fast safety intrigues me could make great special teamer and depth safety
Mock 3.0
it has become very clear who our pick at 3 should be its a pick that will help out not only against the pass but against the run as well even in the return game
with pick 3 buffalo selects
Patrick Peterson CB LSU
Peterson is the definition of a shutdown island of a corner with Peterson on one side and the three musketeers on the other the safety is free to press the box and help out in the run defense
with pick 34 buffalo selects
Martez Wilson ILB Illinois
our outside linebackers are set what we are missing is a solid ILB next to poz our linebackers could be a solid group for the next 7 -10 years
with pick 68 buffalo selects
Luke Stocker TE Tennessee
We have nobody at this position that has proved to be worth keeping Stocker is a immediate upgrade at the position and would be a instant starter
with pick 100 buffalo selects
Cedric Thorton DE Southern Arkansas
With Stroud and McBusto gone depth as well a eventual replacement for Edwards Thorton will have time to sit and be brought along in our system
with pick 122 buffalo selects
Shilo Keo SS Idaho
I doubt MR. Twitter will come back for a price i/buffalo had in mind Wilson can start for us while Keo gets he learning on Keo is a hustle player who i think will fit buffalo just nicely
with pick 133 buffalo selects
Chris Hairston OT Clemson
fits the RT mold good run blocker decent pass blocker solid oline addition
with pick 169 buffalo selects
Steven Friday OLB Virgina Tech
Even with the current OLB on the roster it doesnt hurt to add a speed rusher in the fifth especially if Maybin has to resort to his modeling career while on the healthy scratch list
with pick 206 buffalo selects
Chykie Brown CB Texas
Depth Depth Depth decent dime back at this stage could see nickle back in a few years
with pick 244 buffalo selects Pat Devlin QB Delaware
Had a horrible workout stock took a nosedive should be qb number 3 to start the season
offseason wish list and draft
there are a few free agents i hope buddy nix will target and i am sticking to his philosophy of adding moderately priced free agents as well
linebacker kirk morrison he is really good in run support you know the plague we have had forever
offensive tackle jared gaither think we can snag gaither at a good price yes he has back problems but i would sign a tackle with back problems over a tackle with blocking problems any day
tight end kevin boss great blocker good redzone target
quarterback alex smith yes that alex smith why becuase he will be cheap better than brohm and i dont think buffalo drafts a qb this year
olb thomas howard very good linebacker and could come cheap will help in run support
running back kevin smith i doubt the lions bring him back and he is a definite upgrade over ganther
defensive end alan branch mcfargo was a healthy scratch his entire career at least branch saw the field
safety donte whitner this is to you wise up you're not an elite safety and you will not get paid like one i think your'e worth 5 mill a year at most i hope you spend this offseason learning how to cover tight ends and play the pass otherwise you can and will be replaced why here are a few players who can do what you do minus all the twittering
bernard pollard
roy williams
deon grant
george wilson <--- my fav to replace you
now that im off the soap box on to the draft
pick 3 patrick peterson cb lsu
shutdown corners dont come often and when you have a chance to snag one do so
pick 34 derrick sherrod ot mississippi st
yes bell will be the starter in 2011 but he is a free agent next year time will tell if we want him back and its always good to have a backup plan
pick 68 buffalo selects casey matthews ilb oregon
we need to get better at linebacker and matthews is a clear improvement over the castaways we had last year
pick 99 mario harvey ilb marshall
i dont think he will last the second half of the 4th if we want him get him here he is a super run stop linebacker very quick to read the play will be a welcomed addition
pick 125 cedric thorton de south arkansas
sleeper pick great size for a 3/4 end and a good first step
pick 131 jermale hines ss ohio state
i doubt whiner will be back and i am fine with that hines will be great depth while the wilson byrd show takes flight
pick 165 zach pianalto te north carolina
gailey wants a blocking te that can also stretch the field here he is
pick 194 bruce miller olb ucf
project player but who isnt in the 7th round
How the top 2 picks can affect the bills draft
The Bills draft will be swayed by how the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos draft this is a given we're all in the same boat and dont have the luxury of going need over the so called BPA
Carolina does not have a second round pick this year the logical thing for them do do is trade back 12 to 15 spots grab a second rounder in the time i have followed other teams draft I've noticed that Carolina never trades down only up this is due to the philosophy of their GM "worry about next year next year and this year this year" stock piling picks isn't his thing which makes hitting on his picks all the more important
In this draft there are two sure things as players coming out AJ Green WR Georgia and Patrick Peterson CB LSU
Carolina has many holes to fill on defense and on offense and looking at these two positions CB and WR
WR CB
Steve Smith Chris Gamble
David Gettis Richard Marhall
Armanti Edwards Robert McClain
Brandon LeFell Captain Munnerlyn
First the WRs two are guaranteed to be back next year Brandon LeFell and Armanti Edwards both who are products of last years draft class Steve Smith could very well be trade bait and Clowney and Gettis are able depth players
Now for the CBs last years starters will most likely be back Captain Munnerlyn and Richard Marshall
Chris Gamble injured for most of last year could be back but with a salary north of 6 million it will be a coin flip
McClain and Stanford were both rookies last year i believe the odd man out will be Stanford as he was a healthy
scratch for the season
Carolina will take a player with the biggest impact in their opinion and that is AJ Green WR Georgia with this pick they will give Jimmy Clausin a big target and will help in the evaluation of Clausin as a franchise QB
also looking at the Panthers defense if they choose to stay in a 4/3 defense they have a gigantic hole at DT and with no second rounder i expect a trade for maybe Albert Haynesworth
Denver Broncos wow after the Mcdaniels fiasco and the redirection the team went is amazing Mcdaniels literally took a playoff team and set it back about 5 years maybe even longer the broncos have three really big holes that need to be filled CB DE NT since there are no NT worth the second pick that narrows it down to CB and DE
Players the Broncos may be targeting Patrick Peterson CB LSU Marcell Darius DE Alabama Nick Fairley DE Auburn
CB DE
Champ Bailey Justin Bannon
Parrish Cox Ryan McBean
Andre' Goodman David Veikune
Nate Jones Kevin Vickerson
First the CBs Parrish Cox for the most part is looking at prison Champ Bailey is looking to switch to safety as well finding a contender to play for those two players are huge losses for the broncos Syd'Quan is a good nickle back and could develop into a good starting corner Andre' Goodman is entering his tenth year and didn't make much of an impact last year Chevis Jackson is in his third year and expect is packing his bags that is four count them four CBs that the broncos could/will lose
Now for the DE's Vickerson and Bannon look entrenched as starters the depth behind them is another discussion Mcbean would be the favorite as of today to stay with the team and they may very well keep them both but a talent upgrade is sorely needed
Denver is going to have to replace Champ Bailey and Parris Cox and i feel they will do so when they draft none other than Patrick Peterson CB LSU as a team you can get by with strong linebackers and corners Denver can address the d-line in later rounds and still get quality players
This leaves us at number three who will we get ? i have a few ideas and will share later on down the road
first five picks 2011 nfl draft
the carolina panthers select aj green wr georgia
the panthers will not select a qb as i have stated they will give the pickle every chance to succeed and give him as many weapos as they can what many people don't realize about the panthers is the gm calls the shots on personal decisions the coach can have his input but the gm calls it
the denver broncos select patrick peterson cb lsu
bailey has stated he wants to move to safety and be on a winning team parrish cox is heading to jail the broncos secondary is in shambles and peterson is that help they need i also doubt elway trades down unless someone gives him the farm ala ditka trading away his entire draft and most of the year afters for ricky williams
the buffalo bills select ............
now the bills have a few options here if luck declares he is the pick if not they can go a few routes
marcel darius looks like a versatile weapon for george edwards darius can be a 3/4 end or a 4/3 dt
prince aknumara is another option with are cb's leaving or just plain sucking i hope they dont go cb in the first unless its peterson is available many options in the later rounds with quality players
we could also reach for a player as we have in the past but from what i see from nix is the reaching wont start till round 2
the cincinnati bengals select nick fairley de auburn
the bengals defense is putrid they couldnt stop the buffalo bills with brian brohm at qb that bad
the arizona cardinals select robert quinn
cardinals really shot themselves in the foot last year when they couldnt upgrade a weak linebacking unit or replace dansby
another player could be allen bailey of miami then i see the cardinals taking a nose tackle in the second
a few notes i could see in the draft i could see a cant miss first rounder slipping to the second and buffalo trading it's second rounder to carolina for next years first this years third and fifth carolina loves to bet next years farm on this years gas prices
mock draft time
now im fully expecting that we are going to win this game and im super stoked about merriman signing
now heres the thing im starting too think that luck will not come out reasons why
- he only has a year and a half worth of credits left to get his degree
- he stated he is gonna talk to his parents about the nfl
- he stated he enjoys college experience
so im guessing we will pick 6th and im guessing that the jacksonville will trade up to get either mallat or locker and they will give up a 3rd 4th and a 6th in the process so we fall back to pick 17 and have plenty to chose from with out reaching any of the offensive tackles will be good or even cal's cam jordon
round 1 pick 17
Derek Sherrod ot mississippi state
round 2 pick 38
Demarcus Love ot arkansas
round 3 pick 70
Mike Mohamed ilb calfornia
round 3 pick 81
Davon House cb New Mexico State
round 4 pick 102
Schuylar Oordt te northern iowa
round 4 pick 108
Cedric Thorton de central arkansas
round 5 pick 134
Mario Harvey ilb marshall
round 6 pick 166
Luke Stocker te tennessee
round 7 pick 198
Owen Marecic rb/fb/lb stanford
why we will get andrew luck if he declares
right now we sit picking in the number 4 spot for the draft ahead of us are the panthers bengals lions now we can cross off the lions and panthers from drafting andrew luck why ? the lions have stafford and the panthers with all their problems it's not at the qb position the o line is in shambles a lot of injuries have hit them and their defense just plain blows with the remaining schedule the panthers can win 2-3 games and be out of the luck race now the bengals they will draft a qb in round 1 just not luck they will draft ryan mallett mallett is their type of qb big armed qb who loves to throw it deep they will see a lot of carson in him and be omg and pick him leaving us with andrew luck at worse pick 1 at best pick 4 this is how i see the draft going picks 1 to 5
pick 1 detroit patrick peterson cb lsu
pick 2 cincy ryan mallett qb arkansas
pick 3 buffalo andrew luck qb stanford
pick 4 carolina da quan bowers de clemson
pick 5 denver prince akanumura cb nebraska
hopefully so...
well it looks like i might be getting my first win this season in fantasy football i have danny woodhead and rob gronnowkskifkio left to play and im down by 3 points my opp still has nick folk so it might be close i know woodhead is good for at least 4 points and gronowski is hit or miss i should of probably played my other te vernon davis but who knew after 14 weeks of non production he would pop out 18 and fitzy didnt help either with his whopping 6 points brees had 22 :( either way im hoping to at least get one win this season and maybe spoil somebodies playoff hopes
second thing is buffalo has made great progress this season which i like i know byrd hasnt lived up to his freshman year but he is in a different scheme and teams from what i seen haven't really thrown his way i like what i see from gailey and his adjustments at halftime
this offseason buffalo should try to fix a few problems with free agents mostly depth though buffalo doesn't really go after high price big name guys unless its to please the fans and sell tix
we need a inside linebacker to go next to poz
and i say moats is beastn right now
that is all :>)
some a few rants with a little bit of rave with a kinda mock at the end
first off i gotta say steve johnson is really coming along and i already forgot about that guy we drafted a few years ago ahead of him
next is for the life of me i cant get a win in my fantasy league ( trents checkdown ) everytime i score big points my opponent scores just a little bit more i hate you eli manning why cant you just slide like your big brother
fitzy always seems to play better while playing from behind or maybe the coaching is better when we're behind i dont know it seems odd though
chris kelsey if i dare say it actually is starting to look like a football player
now thats over with
i know nix doesn't like to trade all over the place but i think that is whats needed rather than trying to shoehorn players in to our draft spots
many teams are looking for qb's this draft arizona minnesota seattle san francisco tennessee washington cincinnati carolina oakland <kinda maybe
and should look into trading back and picking up picks especially is andrew luck is not available at our pick
the positions of need on this team are a lot less than what i thought we needed
high priority
pass rushing linebacker
qb of the future
2 tackles to block for the qb
medium priority
stack and shed linebacker
a man coverage corner
tight end
low priority
d-line depth that can actually make the field
o-line depth that can actually block
my high priority big board by position
qb
andrew luck stanford
jake locker washington
ryan mallett arkansas
pat devlin delaware
nick foles arizona
andy dalton tcu
ricky stanzi iowa
jerrod johnson texas a&m
pass rushing linebacker
von miller texas a&m
akeem ayers ucla
mark herzlich boston college
robert quinn north carolina
steven friday virgina tech
jeremy beal oklahoma
dontay moch nevada
offensive tackle
derek sherrod missippi state
joseph barksdale lsu
darius morris temple
anthony castanzo boston college
gabe carimi wisconsin
matt reynolds byu
demarcus love arkansas
jason pinkston pittsburgh
nate solder colorado
this draft as long as luck is not in are future
we should start with the tackle position with the first two picks then go pass rushing olb in the 3rd or second depending on how far we trade back and available players then build the dline to have a solid rotation that resembles the ravens dline after that we should get are man coverage corner and a tight end then draft depth after so my mock would look something like
traded back 12 spots thinking with arizona or minnesota should end up there and the trade i had in mind goes we get their 1st 2nd 5th and we swap 3rds
round 1 pick 15
buffalo selects derek sherrod ot missippi state
round 2 pick 3
buffalo selects gabe carimi ot wisconsin
round 2 pick 15
buffalo selects curtis brown cb texas
round 3 pick 15
buffalo selects steven friday olb virgina tech
round 4 pick 3
buffalo selects cedric thornton de central arkansas
round 4 pick 12 <--- from seattle
buffalo selects dj williams te arkansas
round 5 pick 3
buffalo selects davon house cb new mexico state
round 5 pick 15
buffalo selects mario harvey ilb marshall
round 6 pick 3
buffalo selects kristofer o'dowd c usc
round 7 pick 3
buffalo selects alex wujciak illb maryland
UPDATED MOCK SO GOOD EVEN BRIAN GALLIFORD THINKS SO :)
look it's in the title brian thinks this mock is great...... if only i could get him to read it
with the recent good play of fitzy i believe he will get a nice 3 year contract this offseason somwhere in the 8 to 9 mill range
poz is another we will resign because of his leadership on and off the field and nix's likes that in a player hence chris kelsey being resigned
there is only two players i want buffalo to go after this offseason
the first being tank tyler i believe he would make great depth along our line as a de or nt he can do both
and the second being quincy black he has really come on strong in his coverage skills and has a quick first step in rushing the passer
and now for the mock
with pick 1 buffalo selects
andrew luck qb stanford
even with fitzys strong play as of recent we still need to grab that franchise qb fitzy can start next year and gailey can teach luck what the nfl qb should be doing
with pick 33 buffalo selects joseph barksdale ot lsu
when you select a franchise signal caller you need to protect him we have two weak links in our line lt and rt this pick would replace one of those weak links
with pick 65 buffalo selects gabe carimi ot wisconsin
this pick would replace the other weak link in the line and we can finally say good bye to the worlds biggest turnstyle
with pick 97 buffalo selects vinny curry olb marshall
our linebackers stink we have no pass rush vinny curry can rush the passer no doubt about it
with the other 4th rounder im guessing somewhere in the 110-115 range buffalo selects
cedric thorton de central arkansas
stroud is getting old mccargo cant even make the field we need to think long term and this guy is a player
with pick 129 buffalo selects chykie brown cb texas
mcgee is old florence always has that perfect timing to get a pass interference call thing going for him
brown has the speed to be good gets beat sometimes but will get better with experience
with pick 161 buffalo selects chase beeler c stanford
i think luck would benefit having his college center with him in the pro's and could really force the hangman for playing time
with pick 193 buffalo selects mario harvey ilb marshall
gotta stack players on players folks stack'em up
updated mocks yes mocks one with luck one without
andrew luck may or may not come out if he does awesome if he doesnt thats ok i have a mock for that
first up mocking luck coming out of school and in to the b-lo
with the first pick in the 2011 nfl draft the buffalo bills select ......................
andrew luck qb stanford
this pick is a no brainer we need to upgrade the talent at the qb position and luck has it great vison well coached in college has strong pocket awareness and mobility
with pick 33 buffalo selects
darrius morris ol temple
darrius can play pretty much anywhere on the line solid very athletic for the big man i have him pegged as a left tackle in buffalo he is one mean sob i know i dont want to get in his way
with pick 65 buffalo selects
gabe carimi ot wisconsin
came in to the season over hyped and the stock has taking a fall for it he is the perfect fit for a rt in buffalo's run till it works then stop running offense has a real strong pop and can seal the edge on off tackle and sweeps another great pick to revamp our crappy oline
with pick 99 buffalo selects
dont'a hightower ilb alabama
when you switch to a 3/4 defense it helps to have 3/4 players otherwise you're stuck in a hydrid crap fest of a defense hightower is a solid thumper with average cover skills great run stopper and very agile for his size
* update to hightower he is either really favoring the knee or has lost a step or two my guess is he is favoring the knee and doesn't want to get hurt but his stock is on a train ride to the 4th round chooo choooooo
with pick 132 buffalo selects
mario butler cb georgia tech
mcgee is getting older youbouty and corner are avg at best by the time we phase out mcgee butler will be set to take his place across mckelvin great tackler has some hieght on him 6'1 to break up passes at its highest point
with pick 170 buffalo selects
martin parker de richmond
here is another small school big talent player has the mold of carrington in my opinion better against the run needs to get a stronger push at the line in his pass rush
with pick 208 buffalo selects
weslye saunders te south carolina
he was kicked of the team buffalo will most likely not spend a pick on him but a 7th rounder for a player with a huge upside makes sense to me
im guessing the marshawn pick is a late 4th
so with that pick buffalo selects
john moffitt g/c wisconsin
with urbik in the fold now it seems as wood will slide to center moffitt will provide great depth to all 3 inside line positions
now folks with andrew luck not declaring for the draft
buffalo will swap picks with san francisco for alex smith the only knock on alex is his decision making he is getting better at it san fran will make a change to please the fans ( sound familiar ) and we get a good qb for a small price and sets us up in the draft to get what i think is the best oline product in college sports right now
with pick 11 buffalo selects.......
derek sharrod ot mississippi state
this guy reminds me of johnathon ogden to the t not yet as strong as ogdon but very technical with his foot work and hand position i repeat the best oline product in college to man the left side
with pick 33 buffalo selects
von miller olb texas a&m
he has played hurt the entire season so his stats have taking a hit because of it he would of been a top 5 pick if he came out last year <--twss but sometimes that happens you when you stay in the stock may go up it may go down doesn't mean your a bad football player just means s**t happens and luckly for buffalo we get a sack mechanic
with pick 65 buffalo selects
gabe carimi ot wisconsin
came in to the season over hyped and the stock has taking a fall for it he is the perfect fit for a rt in buffalo's run till it works then stop running offense has a real strong pop and can seal the edge on off tackle and sweeps another great pick to revamp our crappy oline

again im guessing the marshawn pick is a late 4th
so with that pick buffalo selects
john moffitt g/c wisconsin
with urbik in the fold now it seems as wood will slide to center moffitt will provide great depth to all 3 inside line positions
Few notes from what i saw today in college football
i was skipping back and forth between the Alabama and Arkansas games and a few things i didnt like at all
in the alabama game
Dont'a Hightower ILB Alabama
confirmed my thoughts on him he is really really overrated and slow to the ball and i am now wondering if he is fully recovered from his knee injury and i still have him valued as a mid to late 3rd rounder he has talent but the knee is what is worrying me i dont know if he is trying to protect it ? i doubt he comes out this year he will stay for another year and improve his draft position
Marcell Dareus DE Alabama
this man is a beast he was all over the backfield making plays and had a really nice sack he moves really well for a big man solid bull rush with a nice underarm swim move to boot if luck doesn't come out or off the board i wouldn't mind one bit to drafting him
Greg McElroy QB Alabama
i like Greg as a mid to late round prospect doesnt have that strong arm like everybody wants he is more of a game manager in the Kyle Orton mold smart with his decisions can be a decent pickup in the late rounds
Alshon Jeffery WR South Carolina
this is what i look for in a receiver good hands good instincts an all around player if you guys get a chance to watch the highlights of this game take a look at that one handed spin catch he pulled off he is only a sophomore and i dont know if he will come out next year but he is a prospect on my board and should be on Nix's also
from the Arkansas game
Ryan Mallett QB Arkansas
no way no how do i want Mallet anywhere near Buffalo he may have a strong arm but when you over throw the open receiver by 20 yards ala Losman like mister Mallet needs to work on touch passing and decision making before i would even consider a pick on him
Demarcus Love OT Arkansas
he is working his way up that draft board another solid outing strong hands good foot work will be a solid RT in my book very strong nice push at the POA would like to see a more natural knee bend when pass blocking
all in all a good day for football
GO BILLS
dear buddy nix please send the 4th rounder and a 6th rounder to atlanta for..........
thats right fellows the one the only LAWRENCE SIDBURY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
link to a rumblings post on him
please oh please buddy nix i cannot stand the pass rush we have sidbury is a instant upgrade for are rebuild
i want to see that spin move in a bills uniform i plead with you make the trade heck if they want maybin make the trade i can see sidbury having a dumerville type season 1 million sacks 500 tackles 499 for a loss instant upgrade
