"The big focus was on the inability to slow down (forget about stopping) Kenny Britt. He burned Mikell, Allen, and Ellis Hobbs for good gains. Hobbs was most frustrating because he's the veteran corner. As I re-watched the game I noticed that Hobbs didn't look right. He seemed to be moving gingerly. I don't know if he pulled a groin muscle or what, but he was super slow coming out of his breaks and trying to change directions. If he was hurting, Hobbs should have told the coaches. Britt destroyed us in the fourth quarter and we lost the game in large part because of that. Allen actually had very good coverage on a couple of plays, but Britt made good catches. Other times Allen was out of position or slow to react. Allen is a rookie and he's going to take his lumps. The same thing happened to Brian Dawkins and Wes Hopkins when they were cutting their teeth at free safety."

Lawlor shows the common sense that many lacked this week when ripping on Nate Allen while going easy on Hobbs.

"It's a shame that it had to come to this, but there's just no other way to stop Skip Bayless than to stop playing sports," Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig said in his final statement before forever closing the books on the national pastime. "Ending baseball is a tragedy, but if our sacrifice means Bayless stops spewing his petty, hateful vitriol, it will all be worth it."

Bleeding Green Nation The Bulletin Board

I thought it would be fun to keep a log of some bold statements made by the Cowboys fans that have invaded BGN threads the past few days.  I hope everyone listed below will come back on Sunday night or Monday to either live it up or man up and say they were wrong.

I will edit  this as more are made/pointed out so feel free to do so in the comments section.

Bleeding Green Nation McDermott to officially be named DC

The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have officially named Sean McDermottdefensive coordinator. Head coach Andy Reid will introduce McDermott at a press conference at 1 PM on Saturday which you can see live on PhiladelphiaEagles.com.

McDermott, 35, was one of the few NFL assistants to have successfully mentored two different position groups, after stints as a linebackers coach and a secondary coach. He worked closely with Jim Johnson in all phases of the defensive game plan and was the longest tenured defensive assistant coach under Johnson.

Bleeding Green Nation BGN Attitudes

I've been coming to BGN for well over a year now.  Only a few months ago I felt compelled enough to create an account, simply to post an NFL Network video of the Deon/McNabb interview that someone was looking for.  I have made a few comments since then, but for the most part I enjoy reading rather than contributing.

Over the past few months, however, the vitrol by "veteran, regular" posters has been increasing ten fold toward new members.  While some of it is justified, the comments sections are sometimes turned into something like this:

lolz u noob nise 1st post we needz linemanz not dat stoopid WR u nub lawlz

OMG OWND!

LAWLZ SNAP! +111199919191919

For once, I'm going to offer my two cents: While I recognize that the reposting of old/played out stories can get on your nerves, posting things similar to the slight exaggerations above makes you look like a complete and total idiot.  I would much rather read a post with poor spelling and plagirised mock drafts then this high-five gotcha' garbage.  Another post about Braylon/Boldin/Crabtree that you don't like?  State why it's a bad move, and explain your reasons.  LOLZ WE NEED OTZ NUB is not an acceptable response.  Comparing the dates of your account creation isn't a good way of making a point, either.

The silent majority of readers does not care whether you joined one, two or five years ago.  We do not care that you just "owned that newbie" -- just as you feel the "noobs" are getting out of hand, so are these schoolyard antics that seem to be turning BGN into Yardbarker.  Hold yourself to a higher standard and cut this BS out.

Thanks for reading.

Bleeding Green Nation McNabb Deon Interview - Video

Hi everyone -- long time visitor to BGN, just never made an account.  I was reading Clyde Simmons post about the interview last night on NFL Gameday Final and dug up the video clip on NFL.com

McNabb - Deon Interview on NFL.com

Personally, I wouldn't take anything said in this interview seriously.  Deon is a "front running" broadcaster and you all know he'd be yucking it up with the Cowboys right now if they could actually live up to expectations.  If you've seen Jeff Lurie's comments over the past few weeks, I think it's fairly obvious that he wants McNabb back next season and I'm sure they'll get a deal done with him and veterans like Dawk and Runyan when the time comes.
