Because we don't have enough draft nonsense as it is.
I'm going to make more. So Polian is talking about Miami moving down to our spot to pick up Tannehill. I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but it is being discussed by people far above my pay grade as something that could be a serious possability. Better yet Polian put what he thought the price should be. The Dolphins 8th pick, and their second and third round picks.
Super bowl shuffle, without all that Bear crap.
Howdy ho fellow Viking fanatics. Up and coming is the biggest game not involving the Minnesota Vikings there is. While this puts the game on an equal standing with some curling events the flow of the nation is such that most if not all of us will be watching this with at least 300 of our closest friends. Because of this I thought I would introduce you to how my friends and I cook up our superbowl breakfast.

Ask a Norseman
Heya Hogs, I've come down from the glacial north to chat with you about our upcoming game. You all might look at the 2 and whatever Vikings and think to your self this is going to be an easy game! Our QB is going to look like Brady! I just have this to say about that, you might be right...
Ask a Norseman!
Heya Saints fans yes you guessed it another round of ask a Norseman! With exciting questions answered like why is a Vike fan leading Satchmo's fantasy league?! Or can Allen finish off his single season sack record against Brees? How about my favorite, guessing how many yard Bress can throw against the North Hennipen Junion High School secondary we have playing for us currently (the over under is 500).
Well as you can imagine it's taking a lot of humor to retain sanity as a Vikings fan right now, and with Ponder, AD, our entire secondary, and our pride injured and no longer playing this looks like a game that could turn into a serious route. With that said though I have to say we have held close against some tough opponents in the past and I think we can make it a game. So bring your vodoo dolls and gris gris, boil your cauldrons and mash the bug paste up for this week you face the Vikings and we shall not go meekly into that dark night! (Something rage rage...)
So, ok back down from my caffeine rush there... How are you all doing this season? Everyone still making fun of Grumps?

Ask a Norseman
Well usually I don't do this for teams in the conference since it devolves into slurs and derogatory remarks fairly quickly. Last time I was here though it went pretty well and so here I am again ready to answer any and all question posed to me. So here we go....

Howdy all you Mile High club members. (see what I did there?) Just a spot to talk about the upcoming game this week against the woe begone Minnesota Vikings and the resurgent Denver Broncos.

Webb states he's happy doing what Frazier wants him to
Here's an interesting story I picked up and maybe this will end some of the crazier Ponder/Webb - Webb QB/WR debates we have on here.
http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_19242123?source=rss
In this he basically states that he's happy doing what he does, he enjoys the QB position and it seems would want to stay in that capacity. It also talks about him in UAB as a receiver and how he thought he did there as a route runner and as how soft his hands were. This is all in a short interview so once again add that grain of salt. Currently I see him as our back up QB for the future, and it seems so does he.
Ask a Norseman!
Heya Cat Scratch Fever I'm down from the Daily Norseman and thought I'd stop by and see if any of you have any questions about the Minnesota Vikings this year. Should be a fun match up between two teams that many people don't think match their records. Well unfortunately we do have the record we have and honestly right now we deserve it.

Ask a Vike
Howdy all you Chiefs fans I see you are in the same sinking boat as we are... Well let's call it foundering for now. The Vikings are coming down your way and hoping for our first win, I don't know much about the Chiefs other than we got Allen off of you in an excellent trade for both sides, and your missing your big pieces off your offense.

Ask a Viking fan
Heya Bucs, just a couple of questions for you as we enter the weekend and look forward to the up and coming game. What happened to your running game last week? Is Blount having problems or is there some other reason you just couldn't get it started? How do you like your chances against Allen and the defensive lines ability to put pressure on the QB. Who do you think your break out player will be and who do you think you'll need to be a solid player to make sure you win? Last, I don't know much about your defense how solid is it and what do you think the main strengths are?
Anyway thanks for answering any of these questions, and if you have some about Minnesota feel free to ask I would be happy to share anything I know (or think I know)

Ok party people Arian Foster is an idiot. By now some of you may know that he tweeted a picture of his MRI onto the web now take a closer look at the top left corner. Those numbers sure do look like a date of birth and a social security number don't they? So anyone thinking about getting a credit card?
Ok since we are stuck in la la land waiting for people to come to their senses I decided to get creative
Yes I know the title said nothing about what's going on here. Here's my thought. If you could get either the NFLPA / Owners or the entire governing body of Minnesota into a room what would you do to help them speed their slack um speed them up....
Yes it's finally official
Reverschel has finally made it into the Urban Dictionary. Check it out now we're legit!

Who you going to cheer for?
Looks like a lot of fans in Detroit are going to be making it to this game. As a Vikings fan who'll be watching it on the interweb I was just wondering who you think the fans will be rooting for most? Now I know most of you here may vote differently, I'm looking for what you think the dome will be like not just your personal views. (figuring any who are on this site are pretty die hard Lions fans)
Ask a Norseman
or a Viking fan for that matter. Here to answer any and all of your questions about the Purple and Gold. It looks like we're stepping up in the right way here lately and solidifying behind our new coach Frazier. Honestly losing Childress has been a huge boon to this team and I expect this game to be a good solid one.
I think the main things to watch for in this game will be can each defense get to the others QB. Now it looks like we'll be playing TJ so that will help us avoid sacks, but he is a terrible QB. Which means we'll have to rely in Adrian Peterson. I'm not sure how stout the Giants run defense is but this will be a test for them for sure.
On defense we've had a resurgance on our defensive line with Kevin Williams playing like a man possessed. This is allowying Jared Allen to get to the QB much more reliably and I think this is where we need to step up. If we can get pressue on Eli I can see him making mistakes and helping us out.
This game will be fun to watch Skol!

Questions and Answer time, with a Viking fan.
Howdy all you rowdy Buffalo fans! I'm Grime from the Daily Norseman and I'm here to help answer any and all questions you may have about the mighty Vikings! This looks like a good solid game against two of the most dangerous teams in the NFL! Ok seriously, neither of our teams are looking all that hot in the standings but they're still our teams. So, if you have any questions about the upcoming game from how our new coach is panning out, to what offensive formations we like to run to what is Jared Allens favorite flavor of squishy I'm here to help you!

Kinda like an ex...
Ok so Childress is fired and my ability to use the word leprechaun on sports related sites has plummeted to an all time low. There is a lot of celebrating to be sure and some hearty pats on the back and some wavering but strong support for the new captain. However, we do have a problem.
CHILDRESS FIRED!
So there I was at my local Mexican resteraunt enjoying my Chimichanga as my Dallas Cowboy buddy is waxing exultant on how they turned their season around by getting rid of Wade. When what crosses my eye but Childress getting canned. I know many of you will be suprised that i'm so happy about this. BUT HELL YES
Now the question is I'm sure Frazier is taking up the riegns for a bit, but who will be our next head coach in 2011?
So I found something in my Grandpa's old foot locker
I know many of you will scream fan shot at me for posting this here, but c'mon this was brought by a man to this country a man who grew up in pre WW2 Germany moved to the states because of Hitler then joined the war effort when it brought us into it. This is a piece of history a piece that I might add brings the Vikings and many others together in a common hate. I am not saying Childress is Hitler but I am pretty excited that even Hitler hated Childress.
By the way at the end of this you'll see why Hitler was a real loser... Seriously, what a punk.

Ask a Norseman.
Hello a friendly visit from your rival this week. Currently most of Viking fandom is in a full spiral of death melt down over the Moss/Childress fiasco. Hopefully however, our team will still step up and play a solid game. Well wishfully actually,as looking at our record it doesn't seem to be something we've been doing lately.

A question to the Daily Norsefolk
So here we are Friday and we're looking at the re-emergence of our golden boy T-Jax. Yes this very weekend while we watch our Vikings we will have the chance to see this man come back out of obscurity and lead the team to a much needed win against the Patriots. Now who else looks at that and kind of feels a kick to the stones?
So I’m going to put a poll down (because I love polls) asking us who we think we WANT to play. Not who we think Childress will end up putting in because honestly making myself think like Childress always makes my day a little less bright. Sort of like killing puppies.
Who would you want to have a beer with on the Minnesota Vikings?
Was thinking about this tonight as I'm getting ready to walk out of work and hit the local watering hole. Out of all the people on the Vikings which one would be the coolest to head down to the local watering hole and throw back a couple of pints of bitter with? I can think of several I would pick.
I would like to start this by saying Hello ya bums
I feel a bit bad about all the bad blood we have between our teams. And honestly I like a lot of the people here and have made CSC as my next favorite site to go to other than DN (of course) Personally always like the Saints.
The Vikings Golden Years
I have been wandering about the land of SB and in my travels have visited many odd and mystical sites. Many of these sites have had serious things to say about our Vikes. Most of them believe that we are over the cusp and that we are an aged balloon with nothing inside and only a papery thin shell that has become brittle with age.
To this I say suck it. Seriously, it seems like every one out there thinks that our team is straight up geriatric and that next year we'll be losing 6-10 starters that we have no back ups for. In the same vein of course when asked about their back ups they are all glowing reviews about how fast this guy is or how amazing this guy over here who's been on the practice squad for his entire career is going to be.
So let us get our hands dirty a bit and look into this quandary.
More after the jump-
Who the hell is R.J. Archer
And why is he the only QB that the Vikes have coming to Winter Park? Good God if this is another Chilly project I'm going to flip
Which team will be the most disapointing in 2010?
Yep it's a looong offseason
If you could have anyone who would it be
Ok I stole the blatantly off of CSC but hey it's the offseason stealings legal right? Ok here's the schtick I've been hearing about all these incredible people that other teams don't want anymore but who we need so badly Childress would be willing to wear a dress to get them (wait he does that all on his lonesome) So who do you want?
So I read somewhere that you guys might be shopping Cromartie
I read that you all might be shopping Cro for a running back. What do you all think about Chester Taylor. He's got great hands, a good running back and a great pass blocker for Rivers. With Sproles in free agency this year and LT showing his wear and tear do you think this would be a good or bad trade?
Thanks for any input. Oh and how about another trade, Rivers for Tarvaris Jackson! Ok just kidding about that one (no really please take TJ)
Congrats Saints!!! Couldn't have happened to a better team
On the behalf of Vikes fans I congratulate you on a great game, and am happy to see one less winless team out there. May the smile that came from this game last a life time. You guys played a great game and your coach called it expertly. Your D got in Mannings face all day and in the end it was fitting that it was taken to the house by one of your outstanding DB's.
Congrats again, and we'll chat later this year when we're doing this all again!
Skol Vikes!
What to do about QB next year
This is just a quick post to talk about what we should do about a QB next year. Wait for Brett? Pick up McNabb or another senior QB? Let TJ take over and start looking for the next best thing?
