I've read through several posts about the Favre signing and have yet to see anyone mention this potentially unjust act -

Was John David Booty even told that Favre would automatically be getting the number 4?

When Sage joined the team, he had to attempt to bribe Sidney Rice with money and gifts to get the number 18 (and obviously failed).  Clinton Portis had to pay like $20,000 for #26 when he joined the Redskins (and I believe was taken to court). Jeff Feagles wore the #10 his entire six-decade long career (seemingly) and got a weeks vacation out of Eli Manning for it!

Did they just throw the red #9 jersey in Booty's locker before practice and hope he wouldn't notice?  Did Farve at least throw some cash or a few autographed balls his way for it? Did they even let him know that Favre was coming? 

Now, I know he's Brett and he IS the #4, but JDB still deserves something.  I'm sure a guaranteed roster spot would suffice...
