Downhill... and no I'm not talking about the Browns...
Why have the "fans" from cleveland.com/browns site invaded this one? I can always count on good comments from a handful (not trying to leave anyone out) ChrisPokorny, Buckeye Brad, Roger Dorn, Rufio, kwoog and a few others... but man if this site hasn't been infested by some of the least insightful, argumentative, negative "fans" next to those on the plaindealers site. It's really hard to read through all the noise.
Chris,
This site, even through the loosing seasons, didn't seem to be a place for rampant negativity and immaturity. I don't know what 'powers' they give you as moderator, and I'll assume you have better things to do anyway, but it would be fantastic to ride this site of some of the worst offenders. Then maybe the Browns will start winning ;)
Appreciate the effort you and a few others put in to making this a good place to find out about the Browns and for the insightful comments on key topics. Hope it stays that way.

Preseason is Meaningless... Right?
I went in hoping the preseason would be a good indication of the regular season or a glimpse of what is to come. Many Browns fans feel it's the same ol'story of hopes for a winning team but the reality of a disaster, failed expectations, based on the preseason. Look around the league at teams who you would expect to do well that aren't in the preseason. So much is held back from players and play books that you can't get a good feel. Teams blitz more often because the play book is so limited there is no counter punch to the blitz.
The Browns will start the regular season with ALL their starters, with 0-0 record and something to prove. The hype or confidence in winning the Cowboys and Steelers games is gone but there is no need to panic for the season. If the Browns start the season 2-2 or better we have a great chance of winning the division this year.
I'm still looking forward to the season with my expectations adjusted slightly.

Browns vs. Giants preseason game the best thing for the Browns
- The loss to the Giants was a wake up call in preseason when the records get wiped out.
- The next preseason game became important not for a tune up game but to see how our players respond to adversity.
- Cribbs high ankle sprain should heal before the Cowboys game
- Anderson injury not serious long term and gives Browns a chance to evaluate Quinn in an important game. This evaluation had to take place sooner then later and Anderson will be back in time to start the season.
- The holes in the secondary are a surely not to be missed by Savage who will remove any excuses of budget or signing bonuses and sign an impact player before the season begins.
- Embarrassing performance by the O-line which not only got kicked around but allowed the #1 QB to get hurt. That performance will not soon be forgotten by those 5 - 7 guys
Did I miss any?
___Ok so the Browns didn't read my post. I'm not even sure I should get direct tv now...
