Mahinmi Got Some Action
I don't know if anyone has seen this here, but I think it's hilarious. As we all know, Ian Mahinmi has not seen any action this season, but I am rooting for the kid because I am really hoping he turns out great for the Spurs. So I'm just glad he's finally getting some actions this season even though it's some weird kind yet funny action. Here's the video proof courtesy of spurstalk forum.

Why The Spurs Lost Against The Lakers!!!
This is why the Spurs lost today!
After the Lakers game today, the 15th Annual SAG Awards was held in LA!
During the game, Parker was thinking about what to say to Brangelina.
Bonner and Mason were thinking as to how they can get Parker to let them go with him.
And everyone else on the team was trying to remember if they had set their tivo to record the event!

Kobe's Big Balls Meet Spur's Defense
Kobe's talent is undeniable, but I never really liked the guy for so many reasons. For example, the "Big Balls" dance he did after he shot the three to take the lead was really annoying. And right after he did that I was wondering where was Boo Bowen and his defense to stop the dude.
That would have really been funny if Boo Bowen did that. The Spurs will no longer be called boring, Bowen suspended for the rest of the season, and Kobe's "Big Balls" swollen for weeks!!!

Just Years Left 'til 2012 (Spurs Armageddon)
Today, Phil Jackson became the fastest coach to win his 1000th NBA regular season game. So, I was very curious to see how Pop is stacking up with one of the greats. Popovich is in contract until the 2011-12 season unaccidentally the same year as Duncan's expiration date, as the table shows below, by then Pop will have 800+ regular season wins that is of course me assuming/projecting that the Spurs and Pop will average 55. Of course, lots of things will factor out like injuries and all that.
(Mathematically, it should be 58 which is the average of all the previous seasons except '97 Duncanless '98 Strike and this season)
Beyond that, I think most of us are hoping that TD comes back and signs an extension that will make him a Spur until age 40. With that, Pop should get his 1000th regular season win.
Time will catch up to the Spurs sooner or later, Tony Parker will be slower and poof there goes our penetration. Manu will be unManuesque and there goes Manu. Duncan will... oh I don't even want to think about it.
Anyways, it just goes to show that we really have something to be thankful for, the Spurs. Especially now that 2008 is coming to an end and 2009 is about to begin which means that we are closer to 2012.
But hey, CHEER UP! I watched a special on History Channel about the Mayan End of Days which predicts the world will end in 2012. Whether that is true or not, one thing that will surely end in 2012 is our beloved Spurs!
2012 metaphysical speculations
2012 is claimed by some with New age beliefs to be a great year of spiritual transformation (or alternatively an apocalypse). There is disagreement among believers whether 2012 will see an end of civilization, or humanity will be elevated to a higher level.
Many esoteric sources interpret the completion of the thirteenth B'ak'tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar (which occurs on December 21 by the most widely held correlation) to mean there will be a major change in world order.
Astrologer John Jenkins has asserted that on this date, there will be "an extremely close conjunction of the northern hemisphere winter solstice sun with the crossing point of the Galactic equator and the ecliptic", an event that will not be repeated for thousands of years.
Several authors have published works which claim that a major, world-changing event will take place in 2012:
-
The 1997 book The Bible Code by Michael Drosnin claims that, according to certain algorithms of the Bible code, an asteroid or comet will collide with the Earth.
-
The 2006 book 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl by Daniel Pinchbeck discusses theories of a possible global awakening to psychic connection by the year 2012, creating a noosphere.
-
Riley Martin claims that Biaviian aliens will allow passage aboard their 'Great Mother Ship' when the Earth is 'transformed' in 2012.
-
Terence McKenna's numerological novelty theory suggests a point of singularity in which humankind will go through a great shift in consciousness.

How to Steal Boston's Thunder: Spurs Fight!
I don't know about everyone else here, but I am sick and f'in tired of hearing about the Boston Celtics. I'm tired of hearing how KG is the best PF of all time, is a passionate team leader and a winner (The last time this is still the same person that went home at least 10 times in the first round). Tired oh hearing people saying that Rajon Rando is the next coming of Isiah Thomas. Tired of hearing people saying that Ray Allen and Paul Pierce are first ballot hall of famer and unselfish players. Finally, Doc River a great coach! You've gotta to be kidding me.
Thus, here's a way to steal some of Boston's thunder.
We make someone in the Spurs fight someone during an NBA game!!!
Heck, it's almost Christmas day and we still haven't seen anyone get suspended for fighting yet.
Here's some of the choices I really like:
1. Tim Duncan going to the stands to punch some (at least ten) Phoenix fans during the Chrustmas Day Game (AKA Tim Duncan doing his best impursination of Ron Artest).
2. I don't think French man Tony P. can fight (see last year's playoff games against Hornets when he invited CP3 for a dinner), so I'm just going to put him on a Rap off against Kobe and Shaq and see who sells more records.
3. Everyone seems to want to fight Boo Bowen, but I think Robert "Wally" Szczerbiak for kicking him on the face in which Bruce Bowen and Pop calls a great defense
4. Manu... I honestly don't have any clue who I'd put up against Manu on a fight just because I think he'd kick anyone's ass with the Argentinian martial art that the world do not know exists. So i'll leave this to anyone's imagination.

5. Scalabrini V.S. Matt "Red Rocket" Bonner to fight it off on the Texas Bowl presented by Walker Ranger with guest referee Chuck Norris.

6. Ian Mahinmi V.S. Pop for always considering him to play on an NBA NBDL game.
7. Pop V.S. Me for not making me see the future of the spurs, Mahinmi.
8. Big shot Bob is gone, but I'd still pay to see him knock Nash's ass on the ground and give us the Championship

9. Sean Elliot V.S. Doug Collins or Bill Walton (man I hate these two announcers and would like to very much see their ass kicked by one of our announcers)
10. RC Bufford V.S. Danny Ainge (This Guy is one lucky bitch and not a f'in GENIUS!!!)
In conclusion, I really hate the Celtics for one reason. If they win one more championship, the Celtics in Garnet's era will be remembered more than the Spurs in Duncan's era. Thus, we might as well be remembered even if that is going up to the stands and punching fans' faces.

Matt Bonner the Chuck Norris of the NBA

I found this funny post in Yahoo about Matt Bonner and Walker, Texas Ranger.
The fans comments are hilarious!
I thought this was the funniest:
"Matt Bonner doesn't rebound, the ball automatically falls in his hands for fear of it's life if it bounces anywhere else."
Some guys were even comparing Red Rocket to Brian Scalabrini which is madness!
Red Rocket > Scalabrini ALL DAY!!!

Schottenheimer: Old/New Browns Coach
There's a rumor going around:
"The Cleveland Browns could look to the past if they decide to replace head coach Romeo Crennel.
ESPN is reporting that according to team sources the Browns are looking at Marty Schottenheimer for the 2009 season.
While Schottenheimer has achieved much regular season success (200-126-1 record as a coach), his teams have not done well in the playoffs (5-13). Schottenheimer most recently coached the San Diego Chargers but has also served as head coach for the Washington Redskins, Kansas City Chiefs and the Browns.
The sources also told ESPN that the Browns would also consider former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher if he were interested in a return to the NFL."

Derek Anderson and his Angel
One thing is definitely for sure, and that is there is an angel (No, I don’t think it’s Romeo Crennel, at least this time around) out there that is looking out for Derek Anderson. Back from the dead a.k.a. the bench is Derek Anderson.
With the Browns missing another playoffs and Brady Quinn out for the season, we are once again saying "there's always next year". But if you really think about it, that next year starts now or at least next week.
Derek Anderson's game for the remaining of the season will have lasting affects that will carry out next season or years to come. If Derek Anderson lights it up again just like last season, then what?
It probably means that we have two quarterbacks again next season. And I always hear people say "if you have two quarterbacks, then you don't have one" or something like that. And people will probably be happy with that, but remember that's what we were feeling at the beginning of the season when we had pro bowl quarterback and a first-round draft pick quarterback waiting on the wings just in case the pro bowler goes down, and look at where we're at.
Another outcome if DA plays well is that Brady Quinn gets traded which could fetch the Browns at least a second-round draft pick. Another outcome if DA plays well is that he gets traded and could fetch the Browns at least a second-round draft pick.
I just hope that either one of them gets traded because I just really don't believe in having two competing quarterbacks. And, they're both young enough to have time and really become a solid quarterback so long as the team around them is solid and as fans learn to have patience or two.
Now what if DA plays like the DA of this season, you know 50% completion, play bad two straight weeks then play great enough the third week to salvage his job and do it all over again, that probably means that he's gone.
If he's gone, he is either let go which means that we will get nothing out of him, not a pick. But then, the Browns could keep him, you know just in case Brady Quinn is just as big as a bust.
I just hope that if DA plays well, he'd play like the next coming of Joe Montana. And, if DA plays terrible, I hope he'd play like the next coming of Ryan Leaf. I just don't want him to play mediocre where we would be guessing who the real Derek Anderson is.
Now if Derek Anderson could just make his angel come and play with him on the field on Sundays or have his angel look out for Brady Quinn.
