Got 2 bucks and a stamp to say thanks to Canucks.com?
Was just thinking it would sure be nice if everyone would send in a post card from wherever in the world they live to the Canucks' Derek Jory (@canucksgame) as he's always asking where everyone's from and lives to hear from people from around the globe. It seems like there are Canucks fans in every corner.
Also I thought it would be nice to show our support for the monster season and also the amount of tweetups (however brutal the record), live tweeting during games, the events, Fanclub stuff etc the club puts on. They really do put on a good show. Anyways. Just a thought. Anyone up for sending in a simple postcard?

"Rodeo" - NHL edition
Their hands are quick and steady,
Their minds are always clear
They’d tear the hearts from their own chests,
Just to bring the Cup back here
They know they’ve gotta battle
They know it’s gonna hurt
These players pay in sweat and blood
For the chance to end Stanley’s curse.
Well it’s skates and sticks
It’s blindside hits
It’s the roar of an angry crowd
It’s the wild-eyed struggles
The lineup shuffles
That make this game go ‘round
It’s the sleepless nights
It’s the red-eyed flights
It’s weights and cardio
It’s the hits and the checks
And the fame they’ll get
When they finally bring Stanley home.
We do our best to cheer them
When our boys play at home
But it’s on the road they need some help
Their weakness starts to show
And it’s not long til we wonder
If it’s time to let it go
This dream we’ve all been chasing
Of bringing Stanley home
Well it’s skates and sticks
It’s blindside hits
It’s the roar of an angry crowd
It’s the wild-eyed struggles
The lineup shuffles
That make this game go ‘round
It’s the sleepless nights
It’s the red-eyed flights
It’s weights and cardio
It’s the hits and the checks
And the fame they’ll get
When they finally bring Stanley home.
It's the goals and the gloves
The sweat and the blood
And it's all to bring Stanley home.

Who's all going to the Home Opener tomorrow?
I bought tickets for myself and my dad. It's his 1st Canucks game experience and he has NO IDEA what he's in for. I cant WAIT! I feel more excited for tomorrow night than I did when I was a kid and it was Christmas Eve. That's pretty damn excited.
We're having dinner first then enjoying all the fun stuff at the Party on the Plaza. Apparently everyone in attendence recieves a commemerative Pin and a special program. EEEK!
My regular seats are 323, row 5. Close enough to see faces, center ice so I can look directly at the Jumbotron, high enough so I can see every inch of the ice. I usually pay $85 per seat, this game was $210 per seat. Totally worth it!
Anyone else going?!
Don't Stop Believin', Canucks Edition
Just a west-coast club, trying not to screw shit up
They took the long way 'round but it'll get them there.
Just a bunch of guys, Sedins known to mesmerize
They took the long way 'round but it'll get them there.
A goalie in a press-filled room
Known to all as Bobby Lou,
Hates to lose and face the media
They drone on and on and on and on
'Nuck fans, wonder, what the hell it's gonna take,
Their patience tested every night
Dank snipes, Ryp fights, Kesler's all heart every night and
Red lights, goal horns fill the night
Giving blood to make a play
Johnson blocks shots every day
Breakin' every bone to stay on ice,
Just one more night.
Some we win, some we lose,
Kesler loves to sing the blues
Oh the struggle never ends
It goes on and on and on and on.
Nuck fans, wonder, what the hell it's gonna take,
Their patience tested every night
Dank snipes, Ryp fights, Kesler's all heart every night and
Red lights, goal horns fill the night
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
'Nuck fans wonder
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
'Nuck fans wonder

3 Reasons why GucciCowgirl is an irrevocably committed Vancouver Canucks fan.
(Disclaimer: I know with absolute certainty, that due to the nature of this club and it's fans, some of these reasons will already have been covered by other posters. Just in case you're wondering, I do know that. That being said, I do, however, hope to bring something new to the table. Let me know if I #fail. I may not be a Leafs fan, but I still know how to handle rejection.)
1) Solidarity among Vancouverites
The city that never quits - Vancouver. Day and night, this town is loud, opinionated, and passionate. There is no better place to have such a strong organization as the Vancouver Canucks'; the mountains, the ocean, the rain and the drizzle make as perfect a backdrop as a hockey city could ever want. I have lived in low-market cities (Phoenix, AZ) where tickets were $18 a seat and the stands were never more than 1/3 full. Even if you were to pick up the entire Organization and relocate it into the heart of Phoenix, there would never be the passion and hype that is felt here in Vancouver. This city is such a mosaic of ethnicities, cultures, religions, political affiliations, and social classes that to have found one common thread to bind us all together is incredible. On any given day

Roberto Luongo or Cliff Curtis?
Why does Lou's bobblehead look more like Cliff Curtis than Bobby Lou?
Believe in Blue - an Ode to the Canucks
WE ARE ALL CANUCKS
I am not a Leaf's fan, or a Habs fan, I don't dream of dynasties or cosecutive Cups, (one would be enough!)
And I won't jump ship because you tell me "it's easier to be a Red Wing's fan!"
I am not a bandwagoner, or a pessimist,
My allegiance doesn't change when wins are scarce - in fact, I cheer louder.
And I know that solidarity means never losing hope...(even when Burrows can't keep his yap shut and earns a game misconduct during double overtime)
When I'm frustrated with Lou, it's because I know what he can accomplish.
I don't expect him to make every save, even though I know he can be really, really good.
I know that respect is earned, Not bought, drafted,or traded.
And I believe that perseverance and hard work will eventually pay off.
The Sedins taught me that.
I believe that numbers alone don't tell the whole story,
and that just because someone makes a mistake, it doesn't mean they ARE a mistake.
I believe that standing ovations can be given after an empty-net goal,
Especially one that was followed by a bow-and-arrow salute.
I know what sound like "Boos" are actually "Luuuu's",
That playoff towels were our idea,
That anyone who uses the term "Sedin Sisters" is just jealous,
and that 'Believe in Blue' is more than just a catchphrase.
I believe Rogers Place will always be known as the Garage,
That Nazzy deserved better than how we treated him,
That Linden will always be our hero,
And that Luc Bourdon will never be forgotten.
My name is Jamie, and above all I believe that
WE.
ARE ALL.
CANUCKS.

Blackhawk Blog humour..
something new. enjoy!
Media They Didn't Show You..
It's understood that when you add up all the interviews done over a series, there are always clips that end up on the cutting room floor. Inevitably, some precious snippets will get left behind. I have the exclusive rights to share some of them with you - remember, you read it here first.
1) BHTV failed to air a clip of Patrick Sharpvs basset hound barking in time (and in tune) with Chelsea Dagger's now (in)famous goal song. Sources have now confirmed that "Shooter" just signed a multi-million dollar contract to become the new lead singer in the group to replace the previous dude who killed himself last night. Reports say he may have been a Philedalphia Flyers fan. It's hard to tell, though he was last seen wearing a Pronger jersey soaked in tears and gasoline.
2)Kris Versteeg belting out the lyrics to Celine Dion's "I will always love you" as he serenaded Dustin Byfuglien in the locker-room after party. There may have been alcohol involved.
3)Jonathan Toews revalidates his good behavior on air by not only avoiding the F-word, but also keeping his comments about the competition PG. One camera captured his thoughts best,"Mr Pronger is a great ambassador of the sport and not at all the complete douchebag his actions and words make people believe" Bizarrely, Toews was also seen mouthing the words "Seabrook says you're next" directly into the camera. Huh.
4)Joe Quenneville brushes his moustache before an interview and out falls the puck from Game 4, ("Chrissy Pronger is a meanie")one of Patrick Kane's mouthguards ("He likes them kept warm, like his pre-nap glass of milk")and 4 of Duncan Keith's missing teeth ("I figured he didn't need them on account of he's getting a fresh set of dentures, so I'm making them into a necklace for the wife.")
5)Patrick Kane grabbing fistfulls of specially-minted 20-cent coins and flinging them into the air squeeling "KEEP THE CHANGE, EVERYBODY CAN JUST KEEP THE CHANGE!!"
6)Duncan Keith's emotional speech in the locker room during the second intermission, "Ok guyth, it goeth like thith. I thoot the puck to Tharpie and then Tharpie patheth it to Kaner. Kaner pullth a Thidney Crothby and we all run around looking like idioths, but really we're tho money they didn't even know it".
7) Jonathan Toews shares his foolproof method for telling the Sedin twins apart. "Wave Dave Bolland in front of them and wait to see which one's heads explodes. That one's Daniel." (Was Daniel)

What's a "Versteeg", and other ponderings
I don't know about the rest of you, but I have some things I need to square up regarding this season.
What is a "Versteeg"? And where can I get one?
How do the letters T-O-E-W-S spell "Tayvz"? Why are the Blackhawk's names so misleading?
Does Dustin Byfuglien really wear his hat like Vanilla Ice or is it just a coincidence?
Did Marion Hossa finally with the Cup or am I cracked out on meth again?
Why did Mike Richards refuse to participate in the Finals? Was it because his soul was eaten previously by Zdeno Chara during round 3?
What happens to the playoff beards now? Is there a use for them or were they all just a waste of bodily resources?
What sound does Carcillo make while raising the Stanley Cup? (trick question since nobody will ever hear it)
Why is Jeremy Roenick crying?
Please, if anyone has answers, I'd love to hear them
Chasing Stanley
new blog. let me know what you think!
On a scale of 1-Incredible, how much does this look like Shane O'Brien? Interestingly enough, I ran across it via Google Images' "Similar Images" feature under Kyle Wellwood. Hmm.
Of Whistles and Defencemen
Louie's Got Game (to the tune of" I like Big Butts")
Louie's Got Game
I like the 'Nucks and I cannot lie,
You other fans can't deny
When our boys skate up with a pretty little pass
and Kesler on your ass
it 'aint fun.
We gotta keep it rough,
cuz we just don't have a Buff
wipe off that smile you're wearing,
Burrows will get you swearing
You know we'll probably just whip ya
and you'll need a picture
Cuz we dont ever stand still,
That first line you got?
Makes it so easy
Ooh lump of black death
You say you wanna get it in Lou's net?
Well try him cuz he ain't your average goalie.
They tend to skate like dancin'
Hank and Danny passin'
They chip, tip, and their cycle game just won't quit.
I'm tired of media sayin'
That Gillis is overpayin'
Poll the other GM's and ask them that
Their lines all come up flat.
So Nucks fans (yeah) Nucks fans (yeah)
Does your team own the ice? (hell yeah)
We'll pay it, pay it, pay it, pay it, pay the hefty price.
Louie's got game.

Ode to the Canucks 09-10 season
[Ed Note: This, my friends, is one hell of a fanpost. Well done]
Ode to Canucks 2009-10 Season
The season started with a few new lads -
A Shark, A Red Wing, and an ex-Hab.
Only AV knew what Gillis was thinking,
But fans seemed to trust him without even blinking.
2 of the 3 turned out awesome –
Paired up with Edler, Ehrhoff started to blossom.
Thunder and Lightening make a great tandem,
We should all thank Gillis for fixing to land them.
Even when faced with Sid and Ovechkin,
They shut down the snipers and gave us the win.
