THIS IS INCREDIBLE
Journalist of the year and hair gel/ sideburns enthusiast, Thayer Evans had a live chat yesterday. Needless to say it did not go well. He finally had to comment on the NCAA/ Auburn/ Cam thing.
Here is the link to the chat. The first 1/3 of it is basicallly Thayer being assaulted by comments from the likes of "Cam Newton", "Cecil Newton", "The Ghost of Slander Law", and "Thayer's Conscience."
It really is a disaster. Enjoy.
I really enjoy the fact that this guy is going to be trolled by Auburn fans for the rest of his career. I hope it never lets up.
Spurrier lashes out at reporter/ Garcia dismissed from USC
Was on my way back from picking up Chik-Fil-A and listening to local sports radio. They were discussing Spurrier basically going into his press conference and telling the reporters that he wouldnt be addressing them as a group and that one of the reporters in attendance was lying and "trying to hurt the football program" He said he would speak to tv and paper reporters individually (tv guys first)
Here is a link to USA Today
Then in the middle of discussing that they say they just got word that Garcia has been dismissed from the Gamecocks.
Press conference to come, another link to USA Today
WTF is going on in South Carolina?

McDonald's hometown is listed as Huntsville, but he was born in Auburn and later attended AU. Doesn't refer to him as a graduate. Guess he left to pursue music.
Head HERE to find out how to support your fellow tiger.

Congrats on the cute girls.
Screw you Urban Meyer
As many of you know, Meyer was the ONLY SEC COACH to NOT vote Auburn #1.
HEREhe tries in vain to explain why he did so. My favorite line is this:
I watched that SEC Championship game and to say they are not the best team in America would be incorrect.
Uhh...WTF? He says Auburn is the best team in America, but votes for Oregon. What an unbelievable, egotistical, megalomaniac.
I hope he plans on returning his share of the money coming to the conference should Auburn win the National Championship.
Maybe he's still upset about losing the future Heisman trophy winner. Maybe he's upset that he's never beaten Auburn. No real way to know, but one thing is for sure; the dude is upset about something and he's decided to take it out on Auburn.
Way to support your conference, Urban.

Auburn's Tiger Walk won't be allowed at this year's Iron Bowl. Bama sez the new additions at Bryant-Denny causes too many logistical issues.
Great story on Burns
There is a fgreat story on Kodi Burns in the Montgomery Advertiser today.
It's nice to see hi get some press with the Iron Bowl coming up and his AU career coming to a close.
It's still crazy to me the path this guy has taken to be where he is today. I've said it before and I'll say it again he gets more respect from me than anyone on this team for his hard work and selflessness when it comes to Auburn football.
JFK assassin revealed tonight on TRU tv
Tonight on TRU tv, former wrestler/governor Jesse Ventura will appear in an episode of Conspiracy Theory which will a confession to the JFK assassination.
Sources have informed me that they are 99% sure that Cam Newton will be named as the second gunman on the grassy knoll that day in 1963.
I am also being told the operation was backed financially by Milton McGregor and that Nick Fairley drove the getaway car.
The NCAA will be sent a copy of the program for review and has said they will not comment until their investigation has completed.
When asked about the new allegations, Coach Chizik replied that "Cam Newton is still eligible to play at Auburn University".
It is unclear whether assassinating a President and possible time travel are considered to be infractions which could affect Newton's eligibility.
Why did AU fans boo the injured UGA player?
Amongst the assault, kidnapping, and attempted murder charges against Nick Fairely and some of the other AU players since this past Saturday Dawg fans have been calling AU fans classless.
Their basis for this is AU fansbooing injured players. The fact is these people have their heads up their back sides. Either they don't really understand what is going on or they just ignore it so they can bitch.
This is what happened between Cal and Oregon this past week. Cal went all European soccer and faked injuries to stop play and slow down Oregon's fast moving offense. Sound familiar?
No one was booing an injured player. They were booing a perceived tactic to slow down game play.
The haterade is really flowing in the SEC towards Auburn these days and a lot of fans who know a lot about college football are going to play dumb to the ins and outs of the game just to be able to hurl insults and accusations at Auburn. The problem with that is these "cow college" fans know better and this "cow college" team is still undefeated and will play for the SEC Championship in Atlanta. No other SEC team can make that claim so their fans will make the only claims they have left...
WAR EAGLE, BEAT BAMA!
Now off to bed with no supper son.
Toomer's Corner fire
I don't think this has been touched onyet, but there was a fire at Toomer's Saturday evening.
This article confirms what I heard from my brother who is a student at AU. There were 3 seperate fires, but it was definitely before 2am. My brother texted me a pic which I got when I turned my phone back on at 11:15pm.
Now, I'm not going to pull out my jump to conclusions mat, but I would guess this wasn't started by an Auburn fan and may have been started by someone from out of town.
Anywho, losses can burn deep so to speak and as this dog (dawg?) found out desperation is a stinky cologne.
Gregg Doyel of CBS Sports piece on the Newton stuff
Gregg Doyel at CBS Sports has been tweeting all morning that he had a piece coming out addressing the Newton stuff. Well, here it is. I know I'm a homer (though not as homey as most if I do say so myself), but I am really pleased to see someone write a levelheaded piece on the matter.
Doyel calls out Thayer Evans on his piece telling folks not to vote for Newton, calling it "utter nonsense"./
Doyel takes Bond, Floriuda, and the media to task on this whole thing. For rushing to get a story out without making sure all the facts are straight, and what motivations there could've been for this stuff to get printed in the first place.
Doyel doesn't make the claim that Cam is innocent of anything, but that there is not anywhere near enough info compiled or put out to back up the claims being made against him.
Anyway, take sometime and read Doyel's short level-headed piece.
Stressed? Your Dr. Recommends a dose of schadenfreude courtesy of the Bama nation
Bama fans are a tad upset over the loss Saturday. Boy has this escalated quickly.
- The man who never lost a game since he was a baby is now known as "Sackleroy" by many a bammer.
- McElwaine is just a step above needing a handicapped parking space and an escort to help him find the door to the stadium.
- Kirby Smart got outsmarted by the man many SEC fans feel is the dumbest guy in coaching.
In general the mood of the capstone has shifted. They don't like where the team is and it is everyone's fault (except Saban's, curiously enough). They're turning on folks faster than...well...something fast.
I just want to say, if the Cam Newton stuff gets to be too much for you, head on over to RBR and read some of the threads concerning the LSU loss. Don't troll, just read. You're sure to feel some relief.
The schadenfreude is so good you'll need a cigarette and a nap after.

Thamel non-interview on Finebaum
Thamel was on Finebaum and didn't answer more questiones than he answered.
On the Urban Meyer question (which Fbaum posed to him twice) he wiggled out of commenting as to if he had anything to do with it.
Thamel also gave credit to ESPN breaking the story despite the fact that his twitter msgs came out before ESPN's stuff.
When is the last time you heard a journalist give someone else credit for beating them in breaking a story. Fbaum pointed out afterward that he thinks Thamel is passing the "hot potato" to ESPN.
Does he not want the attention he is getting? Why wouldn't he?
On a side note I was unaware that Thamel is the guy that broke the Sociology stuff at Auburn as well.

Bo throwing out 1st pitch tonight
Bo Jackson will throw out the ceremonial 1st pitch tonight for the Home Run Derby. Usa Today did a little interview with him to discuss his career and does some comparison with Bo and stars of today. Nothing groundbreaking, really, but still pretty good little write up. Anyway, the Derby is tonight at 7 CST on ESPN; don't know if the 1st pitch will be televised, but thought I'd share.
Just for fun here is a link to one of Bo's best runs ever

Breaking News!!!!
Alabama has won their 13th National Championship!!!
The Tide declared themselves the National Champions Thursday at 4:30 CST.
Coach Nick Saban had the following to say, "With the possible winter weather we were worried about folks in North Alabama losing power and not being able to see the game. Rather than disappoint the fans we had a meeting in the locker room and decided to declare ourselves the National Champions before the weather arrived. This way everyone back in Alabama can revel in the victory before the weather hits."
When reached for comment Colt McCoy wondered aloud, "Can they do that? I mean I'm not too sure of the rules on this. I guess...congratulations?!?!?"
Longhorns coach, Mack Brown, was similarly confused. "Well I don't think they would do it if it wasn't right. I mean no one seemed to care when they've done it the last couple times so I don't wanna rock the boat. I guess I just have to tip my hat to this damn fine Alabama team."
Auburn Bar in Panama City Beach
I'll be ringing in the New Year at the Redneck Riviera (PCB). Anyone know what the best place to where the game is? Since it is so damn early an excellent Bloody Mary would be a plus. Staying at a place off of Front Beach Road.
I watched a game down here a few years ago at a place (Calypso, I think) that ended up being a huge bammer bar, and while I enjoy the back and for smack talk as much as the next guy I think I'll be a lil too hungover from NYE for that mess.
Help me!
SEC Network Championship Preview Show
If you live in or around Montgomery, WCOV FOX 20 will be airing the SEC Championship Preview Show tonight after the 9 O'Clock news. It'll start around 9:35. Just a heads up for any bammers in the River Region who may want to check it out. FOX 20 will also show an encore of the show Saturday morning at 11am for anyone who misses tonight's broadcast. For anyone outside The Gump, your local SEC Network affiliate should also be airing the special since it was included with the SEC affiliate package. Good luck to y'all this Saturday, should be a classic game.
Gameday Parking/festivities etc.
Hey Guys,
Wondering if I can get some info on gameday in Athens. My brother is heading up for the game and has never been. Can y'all offer any advice on parking, game day events or any must see/do stuff while he's in town?
I've been to Athens and it is awesome, but I've never been to a game so I basicaly have zero advice to help him out. Any advice you can give would be much appreciated. I know he's gonna have ablast cause the UGA fans are easy to get along with, but I don't want to leave him high and dry.
Anyway good luck this weekend, hope it's a good game, but I hope the Auburn Tigers come out on top. I think I'm at 75 words do I'll shut up now.
Thanks.
Just for fun. Heres a classic Auburn v. Georgia pic I'm surprised I haven't been seeing all week.
