Here is an article I was sent by a friend on Bobby Lowder. It deals with his time on the AU board, the rise and fall of colonial, and some other stuff on how the two are intertwined. A good piece that goes to show the kind of guy he is. I especially like the ending which quotes from the Alabama constitution:

Section 60 of the Alabama constitution provides that "no person convicted of ... infamous crime, shall be ... capable of holding any office of trust ..." For now, that's not him.

there is something about that that just warms my heart.

Sorry for the bama content, but just too good to not post. seriously, this guy actually took time out of his life to do this. not just once, but several times. this is by far the most awesomely awful alabama bs i have seen in so long. the bammers can post as many photoshopped pics of AU fans wearing Auburn stuff spelled wrong, but it will never ever be as awesome as this dbag. i know it is partly an act, but deep down... is it?

This guy is a great rep for you guys. Congrats.

Saban makes another Forbes top ten list

He is listed in the top ten of Forbes Most hated atheletes poll. Funny, I didn't know he qualified as an athlete. Did I miss something?

I will say he is the only one on the list who seems to be there based more on envy than anything welse. The other athletes are felons, cheaters, liars and just palin dicks. Except of course for McEnroe, who is the man.

Antonio Goodwin commits

Well we lost Grant to Bama which is disappointing, Considering he's from Opelika it is really disappointing. I think it had to do with where he would play at AU and where he would play at Bama. Bama offered him a spot at slot receiver which is what he said he wanted to play all along. To my knowledge AU never was able to guarantee him that.

The good news is that we just got a commitment from Antonio Goodwin, one of the top WR prospects in the country. The 4 star recruit has known for a while that he was bound for AU but he didnt verbally commit til today.

At the end of the day WR is where we need talent, we've got backs. It sucks to lose a guy from down the road, but getting Goodwin is pretty sweet.

Was cruising around th world wide web this morning and ended up over at Jay Tate's HABOTN (Hottest Auburn Blog On The Net).

I know a lot of you are familiar with Jay and his coverage of Auburn. Being from "The Gump" I have been reading his AU coverage for quite sometime. I don't always agree with him but overall his coverage is usually pretty good. He keeps you informed of small changes as they happen.

What I saw today that led me to post this is the piece he did on Roof in yesterday's Montgomery Advertiser (which as a paper is only usually worth reading on Sunday). Interesting piece that deals with Roof's struggles early on and how his coaching strategy will change at AU. One thing that concerns me is this:

"Roof feels like Auburn has enough talent to bang with the big teams in the SEC".

We have some talent that is for sure, but do we have the size? It will also be interesting to see how Roof's personality meshes with those of his players. Tate describes him as a blustery/non yeller (how that works IDK)

Tate is featuring a new staff member everyday or week (I dont recall which) He has also featured Malzahn, but there really is nothing new in that one.

Anyway check it out. Pretty good stuff.

I came across this top ten list on my lunch break today. It was linked over at Dawg Sports, but was written by a guy over at Arkansas Expats. Pretty funny stuff. I think bammers will even get a kick out of this as long as no one can see them smile. Any way without further ado, The Ten Ways to Better Punish Alabama in the Future. Be sure to read the comments below. I think it's funny how pissed these guys get considering I've never seen any of these names art RBR.

Saw this article in Saturday's paper. Raises some interesting points about Dr. Witt and the statements he has made (and not made) concerning Bama and the NCAA as well as some more facts about what was found in the investigation.

A lot of Bama fans have stated that only a handful of football players were involved and that it was mostly other sports.

the four highest amounts of impermissible benefits in the textbook case, ranging from $2,714.62 to $3,947.19, were run up by football players.

it seems, however that the few who were involved were really, really involved.

A lot of people are on "Malfunction" Moore (thanks Finebaum) saying the blame lies at his feet, but really there have been several president's at Alabama that have never put their foot down when it comes to the athletic department. It seems past presidents have been powerless when it comes to reigning in the athletic department or they have been willing to let them do whatever they want. This is something Auburn knows about and it damn near lost us our acredidation a few years back.

This is what Witt had to say about the penalties,

"It's also important to note that the penalties imposed affect the past. They do not impact our future. They in no way affect the ability of our football team to compete fully, without competitive disadvantage."

That is something you'd expect to hear from a coach and not the head of a UNIVERSITY.
