I came across this top ten list on my lunch break today. It was linked over at Dawg Sports, but was written by a guy over at Arkansas Expats. Pretty funny stuff. I think bammers will even get a kick out of this as long as no one can see them smile. Any way without further ado, The Ten Ways to Better Punish Alabama in the Future. Saw this article in Saturday's paper. Raises some interesting points about Dr. Witt and the statements he has made (and not made) concerning Bama and the NCAA as well as some more facts about what was found in the investigation.

A lot of Bama fans have stated that only a handful of football players were involved and that it was mostly other sports.

the four highest amounts of impermissible benefits in the textbook case, ranging from $2,714.62 to $3,947.19, were run up by football players.

it seems, however that the few who were involved were really, really involved.

A lot of people are on "Malfunction" Moore (thanks Finebaum) saying the blame lies at his feet, but really there have been several president's at Alabama that have never put their foot down when it comes to the athletic department. It seems past presidents have been powerless when it comes to reigning in the athletic department or they have been willing to let them do whatever they want. This is something Auburn knows about and it damn near lost us our acredidation a few years back.

This is what Witt had to say about the penalties,

"It's also important to note that the penalties imposed affect the past. They do not impact our future. They in no way affect the ability of our football team to compete fully, without competitive disadvantage."

That is something you'd expect to hear from a coach and not the head of a UNIVERSITY.

NFL on FOX in Montgomery

Just a heads up for anyone who lives in and around Montgomery.

WCOV FOX 20 has posted a poll on their web site asking people's preferences on NFL games. Sometimes FOX national gives their affiliates the options on which games they can air. Each affiliate is allowed to pick 3 team preferences to air when given that choice. There is a list of ten NFC teams and you can vote on which one you most want to see. Here is the web address cause I'm to dumb to get the link to work on SB (the poll is on the bottom right.)

First Scrimmage

Burns and Caudle split time in the first half. Looks like they may be the two really being considered for the starting job. Trotter got sometime in the second half, but it doesn't say how long. Nothing really said about how each performed so who knows where we stand on that.

Great to hear that the offense is moving quickly and getting plays called in in a timely orderly fashion. After last seasons simon says whack a mole style offenseive play caqlling it will be a nice change.

Some of you may have noticed that over the weekend SBNation got a new member. His name is BamaRulz. More than likely he is a troll, but who knows where he came from?

There is no way that someone actually types like this and owns a computer. The ebonics that this guy uses aren't even acceptable in the most out there circles. I theorized at RBR that he may be a convicted felon who is posting during his internet time at the county penn. This would explain the bad grammer/spelling and how this guy has managed to flood almost every SEC blog's comment sections over the course of 3 days.

All I know for sure is that I pray that this dude is an actual Alabama fan. If he is than this may be the best thing to happen to SBNation since I joined (ba dum che).

Anyways, as you are posting here and on other blogs keep an eye out for this dude. His posts ar pure comic genius. And BamaRulz, if you read this please share your story with us. I am sure it is one for the ages.

WCOV FOX20 coming off Charter Cable in Montgomery

December 22, 2008

WCOV-FOX20 announced today that as of January 1, 2009, Charter Cable will no longer be carrying WCOV-FOX20 in Montgomery and the surrounding area. “We’ve spent several weeks negotiating in good faith with Charter but have been unable to reach an agreement. We have reached agreements with most of the cable operators in the area, including Knology, Troy Cable, Brighthouse, Comlink, Sky Cable, Galaxy Cable and others.” said David Woods, President of WCOV FOX20.

Woods said “We find it unsettling that Charter Cable recently announced a rate increase in Montgomery of several dollars per month, yet they have been unable to reach an agreement with WCOV-FOX20. Without WCOV-FOX20, Charter customers in Montgomery will no longer be able to watch the popular programs such as The FOX20 News at Nine, American Idol, 24, House, Judge Mathis, People‘s Court, The Sunday NFL games, the NFC Championship game, NASCAR and The Daytona 500, and the Sugar Bowl with the Alabama Crimson Tide on January 2nd.”

Charter customers have several options in which to tune in to WCOV-FOX20 and watch American Idol and the Sugar Bowl. In Montgomery WCOV-FOX20 will continue to be carried on Knology Cable (356-1000), many viewers can use an over-the-air antenna or they can install DishTV satellite, which carries the local Montgomery stations. In Troy, WCOV-FOX20 will still be carried on Troy Cablevision at 566-3310.
