Is there a place that sells Warriors jerseys like Randolph, Wright, Morrow, Bellinelli? Monta, Baron, Jrich are all easy to find, but I can't find the undercovers.

Is Nelly Retarded?

Why in the hell does he start Randolph and give him less then 5 minutes. He was just starting to get into his groove and Nelly yanks him.

Why isn't Maggette starting in a team with a lack of size. There is a time and place to have Maggette come off the bench, but not when he is one of the top players on an injury plagued team. You bring Maggette off the bench with a full strength team (minus Monta).

Why are Randolph, and Kurz STARTING the game while Ronny is sitting on the bench. Ronny is the only thing close to a center we had without Biedrins and he starts on the bench? Nelly are you serious, or just plain stupid? Game in and game out, the Warriors loose the EXACT SAME WAY. Hey Nelly, at least TRY something different. The Thunder game was absolutely disgusting. Horrible defensive sets, and just horrible coaching. There was NO Warrior defender between Jeff Green and the hoop at the end of the game. 3 Guys surrounding him, but no one if front of him. That's Nelly's fault. Show your team how to defend a team with 1 second left. What are you doing in practice.

Don Nelson is hindering a young team from growing and learning from mistakes because HE DOESN'T LEARN FROM MISTAKES. Stubborn Nelly does coaches the exact same way every night. He is not a teacher, and that is what this team needs (*cough* Keith Smart *cough*).

The only way this young team can develope is with a smart coach, willing to try new things... like play defense.

"The lucky shot beat us tonight" says Nelly.

If he really thinks this game was about luck... he's way off. Its about him coaching a team into too many bad habits to break.

Thanks Nelly... for teaching the Warriors how to loose games.

What to Believe about the 2nd half of the season?

The first half of the season has been something we, as Warriors fans, want to forget about all together. 41 games plagued by injuries and drama, not only on the floor (Harrington, Randolph), but also in the Front Office. 12 and 29 is a filthy record, and any team who starts a season with this record should plan the rest of their games as a forfeit.... thinking towards the lottery.

But not the Warriors.

Warriors still claim potential playoff birth. Monta Ellis says he expects a massive turn around in the second half (with him back), and promotes that he "plans on making the playoffs." Capt Jax told Fitz & Brooks last Friday that the Warriors are "only 13 games back of a playoff spot. 41 games is a long way to go, look as us 2 seasons ago."

Why do they still believe? Do we still believe? Is there hope?

What we can believe in is a soon to be unified, semi-healthy team. Injuries have obviously held our impact players out for most of the season; but more importantly, injures have disabled any potential in forming team chemistry and cohesion on the floor. The first taste of team chemistry I've seen for a full game this season was against the hawks Friday. Warriors were a TEAM, fighting and scrapping in the last 2 minutes towards a victory.

Crawford looks to be dishing out assists without effort (over the shoulder, no look to Turiaf was ill!) Maggette seems to have accepted his role as the teams 6th man, and not the go to guy. Unlike the usual selfish Maggette, his new mentality is one of team mentality... shocking, but easily embraced. Jax is Jax. Yeah he takes bad shots, but his passing skills have improved after Don forced him into the PG position early in the year. And his defensive intensity improves the team defense as a whole. Monta Ellis? Although his is no savior, he is a star (and soon to be superstar). Adding a star of his caliber to any team (especially one in desperate need of a PG) makes them that much better. His morale (so damn positive all the time) not only keeps himself playing at his best, but he becomes the emotional leader for a team full of impressionable young guys, and vets who don't know how to win (Crawford, Maggette).

And dare i say, our bench?... I mean starters?.... wait... yeah it's our bench now. They've gotten so much experience on the floor, we have to expect to have one of the deepest benches in the league. Yes the young guys are still growing, but extended playing time has refined their games quite a bit, and we can expect a night by night game impact from the 2nd unit.

In other words, the 2nd half of the season is a "new" season, full of new hopes, new dreams... and being down in the hole 13 games.

What should we expect/hope for? A playoff birth? An amazing second half?... or more disappointment?

 <legend>Poll</legend>

Whats to be expected for the Warriors in the second half of the season?

21%

Playoffs Baby! Get ready for the run of a lifetime!

57 votes

40%

A Great Improvement. Warriors end up right around .500 in the end.

30%

Improvement, but not in the Wins column. Next year is our year!

81 votes

Nothing new. More Disappointment. Trades need to be made. Roster needs a new look.

This guy is a freak of Nature. Rookie mistakes yes. But unbelievable hustle plays and athletic moves? This guy should be getting more PT than Morrow. He gobbles up rebounds, He protects the paint, And best of all... he's got that killer instinct on O and D.

I've been saying it all season. Play this guy!

Nelly's quote after the Bulls game - "Maybe it's time to start playing him a little bit."

Ya Think?!?!

Start Randolph over Morrow.... period. He doesn't need to play 30+ minutes, but he and Beidrins will anchor the D right from the start.

Starting lineup -

PG - Crawford

SG - Jax

SF - Maggette

PF - Randolph

C - Beidrins

That is one hell of a line up. All 5 of these guys have Allstar capabilities. DO IT NELLY

We've caught a horrible string of bad luck. Its not Nellys fault, or Mullins, or Rowells, or any of the youngsters fault.

Its no ones fault that 3 of our 5 starters are out with either injurys or hurt emotions (harrington). Who could have called it? If we had our main 5 guys starting, with Turiaf, Buke, and the young guns coming off the bench, we would be a legit playoff contender in the West.

#1 - We need to get Maggette back. Even though he has struggled, he's still a very decent defender, and another main scoring option. He would give this team a big boost obviously. Without him, Warriors can't even beat the.... well.. lets just say the Grizzlies and Kings.

#2 - Get rid of Harrington ASAP! He brings bad morale to the team. He needs to be gone. Hopefully we can pull a decent deal pretty quick for Lee or Wallace.

Look, these are 2 obvious answers to the Warriors woes, but they are the ONLY answers. Without legit players, we can't win PERIOD.

BUT.....

This time hasn't all been a waste. Nelly has been forced to look at the youngsters, so now he can see who he can utilize when, further into the season when the Vets return. If we can stay affloat with the youngsters getting PT, Watch out when everyone gets healthy. Athletic Vets starting, and young athletic studs coming off the bench. A perfect recipe for Nelly ball.

Call me Crazy. Call this a wasted post. But these are tough times Warrior fans. We all are a little discouraged about our beloved Dubs. But we must realize the Season is not even close to over, and the Dubs WILL resurrect.

Patience.... Patience.... AAAARRRRRGGGGGH!!!!..... Patience

CHANGE!!! Either Nelly adjusts his coaching... or Warriors need a legit PG

Nelly has been considered a God in Warrior land for the past two years because he enabled athletic players to utilize their abilitys on the fast breaks, and in one and one situations.

This year he is still trying to utilize this same style of offense with a team that lacks quickness and athletic ability. PUT IN SOME PLAYS for late game situations. Pick n rolls, Give n goes... something. A one on one setup every time down the court makes players without the ball lazy and stagnant within the offense. If Nelly installed a type of constant motion offense, players would feel the need to be active w/o the ball. This would free up players constantly (with ball movement), and enable much easier scoring opportunities.

The problem? It's too late. Nelly should have implimented this offense in the preseason as soon as Monta went down.

The solution? Play the young guys (especially Randolph) and trade Harrington for a point guard. I hate to say this... but trading Harrington to either the Knicks or the Pacers for either Marbury or Tinsley would drastically improve the Warriors. The Warriors are desperate for a scoring threat at point guard. DeMarcus is a fine, solid player... but not even close to a threat. We need someone who will push the ball up the floor (even after an opponent score), and force the defense to collapse. If the defense collapses, dish it out.... if not.... take it to the rim and score. Marbury and Tinsley (but especially Marbury) have proven they can do that.

Yes... Monta is the PERFECT fit for this position, and once he gets back, Warriors will have an impressive, explosive, high powered offense once again. But until then, a legit PG is in desperate need.

Now don't quote me as saying I want Marbury or Tinsley. They bring much more (not in a good way) in addition to an ability to score. And in the long run, they might do more damage than good. So take it for what it is.

Reality? As Obama has stated time and again... Change!!! Change is in the air, and is a must if the Warriors want to keep afloat until Monta returns.

What is the biggest change the Warriors need, and where?

Its true I'm a brand new member of GSOM and this is my first post, but I'm surprised no one has posted a thread for member comments about each of the first few preseason games.

Last night produced a fairly exciting game with a few typical highlights here and there (and of course the game winner from Kurz), but did anyone witness a flash of "The Future Anthony Randolph?" This guy was defending the rim with tenacity! Three studly blocks and a sweet alley-oop off a missed shot. The potential this guy shows makes me feel giddy inside. Once he figures out the NBA game, theres no reason why AR shouldn't be one of the most exciting players in the NBA (especially because he's playing on the uptempo Dubs).

Am I silly for being so excited over a turnover prone, lanky, skin n boned, rookie?
