FO 1st Quarter Titans Review
This piece is behind the paywall in Bristol, but it's a solid and well-reasoned distillation of the mostly good and some bad we've all seen and read about the Titans so far. If the running game simply stabilizes to middle of the pack and the pass rush ticks up just a notch or so, we should go down the wire with the Texans for a playoff spot.
Peak Performance
Shocked he was able to do this without Donnie Nickey.
In the Trenches With Washburn & Mudd
How'd Andy Reid get so smart? Washburn & Mudd together at last should send shivers down the trenches of the NFC East.
Solved our QB problem
I've done it. I can't believe we didn't see it before. I'm a genius. We don't need to draft a quarterback. Peyton Manning is not under contract anymore. Let's just go sign him.
It's All Raaaaaaaaandy's Fault
In his TMQ column this week, Gregg Easterbrook makes some solidly obvious points about the Colts' dire straights. But buried in the middle of his piece is the hilarious, reckless, and wildly unsubstantiated suggestion that !Randy Moss! is responsible for the Titans current meltdown...
Mike Keith
telling us things we already know, but in his voice, so it's better.

This year's O-Line = last year's CB/Return game
I am real skeered about the depth of our offensive line. If we don't shore it up we go from solid wild card team to out of the playoffs for surezies. Last year the same roster/personnel/coaching arrogance produced the CB/Returner travesty that kept us out of the playoffs. The first chance FisherFeldt has to apply that lesson is to this year's O-Line. And they seem thrilled to not do so. Today we're all aflutter of Albuurto coming home. But the D-Line is not the problem; we have a killer rotation there with excellent chemistry. Any picks we're willing to deal for Fatso should be packaged into some move for a G/T. We're living in crazysuperbonusluckytime with injuries to our 1's on the line the last few years; this sweet fortune will not last. And god forbid we go out and resign Mawae.
This Onion, so many layers!
I demand entertainment! In these lean times we must amuse ourselves. Or have people do it for us. I submit the following, sobering, take on the future of our backfield.

Pay CJ Now
Chris Johnson is about to be one of the most underpaid guys in the NFL. He has season-making, singular talent, and Reinfeldt/Fisher should get a lot of credit for drafting him where they did, locking him in at such a phenomenal 5 year price, and developing him the way they have.

Jocklife Titans Season Preview
Here's a Titans season preview from Jocklife, the website that broke Derrick Mason's retirement news a few weeks ago. Of course that news has since healed and Mason will be back. Typical lack of acknowledgment for the passing game, which by and large did its job on third downs last year. But all in all, a pretty fair summation from an outsider perspective.
