Chiefs almost had 5 road games in first 7 weeks

Interesting story about the making of the schedule. The second best schedule would have been rough for the Chiefs.

Barkley could have been a Chief?

"Analysis: It appears Eagles coach Chip Kelly liked what he saw from Matt Barkley during his coaching stint at Oregon because Philadelphia traded up to acquire the former USC quarterback in the fourth round of the NFL draft. NFL.com's Albert Breer told NFL Network that the Eagles made the move to get Barkley since they believed the Chiefs were planning to select the quarterback at No. 99 overall."

Chances the Chiefs win a playoff game if they have a Top 10 Rushing Attack and Defense?

Lyle Graverson has a great article about the Chiefs' chances to win a playoff game off the strength of their rushing and defense. The money quote "So 71 percent of the teams that finish in the top 10 in rushing and points allowed make the playoffs and 40 percent of those teams make it to the conference championship game? I’ll take those odds."

The Ben Roethlisberger–Todd Haley Rom-Com Begins

Below is a great quote from Roethlisberger describing how he felt after sitting down with Coach Haley: "I get a little confused at times because I know so much has been made about us quote-unquote throwing the ball too much, or we’re going back to Steeler football and running the ball more … But in these meetings I’ve had with coach Haley he’s all about the no-huddle, and using our wide receiver weapons, and throwing the ball, and stuff like that, so I’m still confused," he (Roethlisberger) said. "I’m not sure what’s going to happen yet." Kind of how I felt watching Haley's playcalling, except with some anger/frustration mixed in.

Why are the Chiefs looking at so many QBs? I don't think Pioli is interviewing and observing college QBs to provide mis-direction or because he intends to carry 4 QBs next season. He is just doing due diligence. QB is the most important part of an NFL team. The Chiefs have to check each of these guys out to make sure that they don't miss out on the next Dan Marino in the draft. Pioli isn't going to depend on Mel Kiper or anyone else for an evaluation. The Chiefs have to be as sure possible that one of these QBs coming into the draft isn't better than the QBs we already have on the roster. If Pioli feels that one of these young (or in Weeden's case, old) QBs is better than Stanzi or Quinn, then hells yeah he better be willing to draft the QB. The QB position is too important not to do due diligence and check each and every one of these guys out. I think we as fans read too much into Pioli doing due diligence with the QB position (though it does make for some entertaining conversation).

John Carlson to MIN: He may be a good athlete, but Carlson is a poor blocker and has failed to make a consistent impact as a receiver. The Seahawks brought in Zach Miller to replace him for a reason. A truly baffling move.

ProFootballFocus FA Breakdown The Don might know what he is doing.

The worst...what if Denver gets Peyton.

I've been a big fan of trying to get Peyton Manning to KC, so reports of Denver being one of the favorites for landing him are like a big kick in the balls. So what if Peyton ends up in Denver? ...
