Why is Fox Anti-Chargers

In Los Angeles, Fox usually does not broadcast the Chargers games when they have them (when we are playing a NFC team). It seem every year there will be one game not shown in LA that is shown on SD by Fox. Since LA is considered "home" area for blackouts, if there is not a sell out, shouldn't they be required to show the game if it is not blackouted?

CBS always shows the Charger games in LA (unless blacked out). Fox usually does not. Any one know why they can get away with this?

Baylor & Davis Interviews

Both Elgin Baylor and Ricky Davis we interviewed on 710 am today. I missed them when they were live. Darn work keep getting in the way of my daily Clipper fix. I did a little searching for the link to the interviews. They are interesting. Here is the link for both of them:

Finishing the Roster

What a busy off-season. I really like what the Clips have done. Especially the way it was looking there in early July. So many signings, but there are still more decisions to be made. We have guaranteed contracts on:

B.Davis/Hart

Mobley/Gordon

Thornton/R.Davis

Camby/Thomas/Powell

Kaman/Jordon

That is only 11 players. You have to have at least 12 and no more then 15 (I know most of you know this, but there may be one person wondering)

We have made a QO to Fazekas. My understanding he has not yet accepted. He is a restricted free agent so we would have the option to match any other team (if there are any other offers). I think 75% likely he stays.

Taylor has a non-guaranteed contract so we don’t have to keep him. If we cut him we lose his rights since we have extended an offer. The coaching staff comments show they like him so probably will stay. I say 60% chance.

Now that would give us 13 players. 2 spots left with several players vying for them. They are

Q Ross

Livingston

M. Williams

P. Davis

At the end of the Times article on Ricky’s signing they said that the Clips have been talking with Francisco Elson. (Surprised with all the news hawks on this site it hadn’t been mentioned yet).

That gives us 5 for 2 spots. Who do we keep?

First off, if we can sign Liv for Vets min then lets do it. Give him a 2nd year player option if he wants. Personally I am not ready to give up on him until he has a chance. Would hate for him to go elsewhere and shine.

Does the signing of offensive minded Ricky give Q a chance of an offer? I would not be as unhappy keeping him with the players we now have. He would take up a spot that we could use elsewhere and probably use better. I say small chance of him staying.

I say the Davis signing leaves Williams out in the cold also.

We do need another big. This is especially true if we keep Liv. Davis or Elson would be fine even though they are necessarily my first choice.

But there is one more option. Stay at 14 players and wait to see who gets cut by other teams at the end of camp. There are always a few decent players.

Would we be able to do better then our current choices? Is it worth the risk of losing out on those choices?
