Resign Clayton? Not as sensible as one would think.
Looking at Mark Clayton last season most would believe he's a logical resign for a team that lacks top talent at the WR position. Aside from his sophomore season his career in its entirety would strongly suggest otherwise. Looking at his catch rate during his time in Baltimore shows a very inconsistent side to the WR many here see as a lock to make the team.
In 2007 he caught 54% of passes thrown his way, in 2008 40%, and lastly in 2009 46%. Last year he had a 55% catch rate while most of the leagues top WR's were sitting at 60-64%. As compared to Avery career catch rate that sits right above 50%.
Now we can assume Clayton has topped out in terms of potential and hasn't lived up to his 1st round draft status but the same assumption can't be made about Avery. And if you tend to agree with CoachConner's take on WR's and 3yr development philosophy like I do you can see that Clayton has passed that point as he goes into his 7th season. Then it goes back to the decision between veteran legs vs. young potential. If you decide to go with the potential then you have the opportunity to let Gilyard and Gibson battle for the 6th spot while Pettis, Salas, Amendola, DX, and Avery occupy the other 5 spots.
If you disagree state your reasons in the comments! Lets hear 'em

Vincent Jackson Anyone?
Interesting story on a possible holdout by San Diego wideout Vincent Jackson. He is represented by the same agents who represented roddy white in his holdout last summer. Bradford could have a nice 6'5 target to help him develop and spread defenses for SJ39 if the rams are willing to part with a high round draft pick in 2011
Yes!!! Bradford to bay bay!!!
Soon to become a reality!
Rams Interactive 2010 schedule
Check it out. Has some interesting stuff. Our schedule happens to be ranked #31st and we play the raiders in oaktown. Coach and Cali you guys better be at the game with me!
OJ does a Q&A with former Ram safety Corey Chavous
As some of you may know Mr. Chavous has his own mock draft site and has been seen numerous times on NFL network with draftnik Mike Mayock(who i happen to prefer over Kiper). Anyways I thought it was important because he asks OJ about the contract siituation.
Really in depth look at why jimmy clausen is a god
This guy has way too much time on his hands but the article was pretty stacked
Offensive Line
With the new addition of Hank Fraley and the resigning of Mark Setterstrom our interior line is looking good. Although it isn't very high on this year's list of improvements, RT is going to need to be addressed sometime because while goldberg wasn't awful he wasn't amazing either. We could have greco play outside since he didn't look too bad at LT filling in for Barron against the 49ers. But this would essentially be the same thing as having goldberg play RT. Another route would be to draft someone. A few options in this years draft include:
Trent Williams
Bruce Campbell
Ciron Black
Jared Veldheer
I get a feeling that either Trent Williams or Bruce Campbell is going to fall to us at the top of the Second. Most likely Bruce Campbell with the strange injury history. What do you guys think?
Donnie Avery Bulking Up
This should help prevent a few injuries next year

Chris Houston
Adam Schefter reports the Lions are going to trade their 6th round pick and switch places with the falcons in round five for Chris Houston and the deal is going to be finalized Monday. I would've liked to see the Rams make a move for Chris Houston who from what i've seen is a man coverage corner who excels in press coverage something that Spags likes. I still have faith in what the organization is trying to do but this is a great deal and would've bolstered our secondary if we got in on this deal before the lions did.

What's OJ worth?
If Kerry Rhodes was traded for a 2010 4th rd and 2011 7th rd picks what do you guys think we could get for OJ?
The first set of Stats courtesy of nfl.com are OJ's and the second are Rhodes'. OJ is 28 and Rhodes is 27 so age isn't much of a factor
Demaryius Thomas
To me Demaryius Thomas is probably the best all around WR in the Draft. He has elite size(6'3 230) and reportedly runs 4.38. His hands are amazing and he put up above average numbers in GT's triple option offense this season (46rec 1,154yds 8 tds). The only problem with Thomas is that he doesn't run his routes very well. Now that we hired Nolan Cromwell, an excellent WR coach, we could allow him to sit while he develops into a better route runner and we could have our legit No. 1 we've been looking for. Now with the recent injury of his broken foot he might fall to the top of the 3rd but i wouldn't risk it, we should take him with the 33rd pick.
Here' s MTD's scouting report on him: http://www.mockingthedraft.com/2010/2/6/1284814/demaryius-thomas-nfl-draft
