Alex Gordon Is Good at the Baseball

He's currently 10th in career WAR for position players in franchise history. Even with significant dropoff this year, he can pass Sweeney and move all the way up to 7th place. With a repeat of last year, he can pass Beltran for 6th place and almost catch McRae. Fun fact of the day.

Butler, Gordon, Frenchy, Escobar, Getz, Moustakas all top-five vote-getters at their position in All-Star balloting to-date. I can't remember the last time we had position players actually known in other cities well enough to draw enough votes for this.

Lost in all the suck is that Hosmer has four homers in 17 games even though he has started slow. That puts him on pace for 38 taters, which would, of course, be a club record. We should have a daily tracker for this.
