I've heard from two baseball people today that the Seattle Mariners already have, or are in the midst of extending manager Mike Hargrove's contract through the 2008 season.

Obviously nothing is confirmed and to be honest, I won't be able to confirm this with anyone who'll speak outside of anonymity, but there probably is something to this since the two sources that dropped me a line on it are reliable.

The word is, Grover didn't like the idea that his new bench coach, John McLaren, got a two-year deal and wanted the equivalent of...

The Seahawks just got embarrassed by the Niners at home, 5 days after losing to the Cardinals.

The Mariners just traded two of my favorite young players for a declining second baseman and back of the rotation the starter.

The Sonics are stuck in mediocrity and may leave in a year or two.

Where the hell does this leave a Seattle sports fan?
