Hardcore Falcon
Feb 19, 2009 May 17, 2012 12 1659
A hardcore Falcon fan since age 10. I met Harmon Wages of all people when I was 10 years old and he told me to start watching the games on television. I did, and I have been hooked since. I am a season ticket holder and have had my tickets since Deion was drafted. I am also founder and president of the Hardcore Falcon Fanatics fan club. We have viewing parties at various members homes for away games and do various other social gatherings.

Supposedly "Leaked" NFL schedule
If this is true I am not too fond of what is in store for week 4. Please prove me wrong Falcons!
Going to the game tonight?
Going to the Falcons-Ravens game??? Me and a buddy are going. We are going to try to be at CNN center by 6:00. Find me in my Bartkowski jersey and I buy you a shot before the game. We may be in the mexican spot at the bar... hint hint
If so, a shot on me. find me.
State of the franchise event 05/11/2010
Am I the only falcoholic who received the exclusive invite to the State of the Franchise event??? This was held last evening at the Home Depot Store Support Center in Atlanta (Vinings). Arthur Blank, Thomas Dimitroff, Rich McKay, and Coach Smith were all there. They spoke about the draft and how they thought that they did in regards to addressing needs. Coach is very excited and can't wait for the season to start (just like the rest of us). They spoke about the schedule this year, and where they see the team going. Many things were discussed and fan questions were taken by all at the end. There is a video of the whole affair on the Falcons website. I was very impressed with everyone and even got to shake hands with them all at the end. They even mentioned that several players took MMA training as part of getting prepared for the season and that so many wanted to do it that some got turned away. Go check it out, I think you might hear some things that you like as well.

What NFL team allowed the fewest points ever in a 14 game season?
The 1977 Atlanta Falcons "Grits Blitz" Defense. They allowed only 129 points which averages out to 9.2 per game. The Greatest defense of all time.
Looking forward to the 2010/2011 Season
I just wondered if we were going to have an easier go of it next season so I went to the Falcons site and looked up our opponents for next year. It looks a little better than this year, but we will see. The road schedule doesnt seem as bad, but the home schedule appears a little tougher. We will see for sure once the actual dates are set. Right now it just has home and road games with no dates.

Interesting article on the Falcons amid pre-season
Anyone else subscribe to the bleacher report? Check out the article and let me know what you think.
Falcon encounters
I just had an idea and thought I would throw it out there. I thought it would be kind of fun for people to post any encounters that they have had with Falcon players past or present. Were they cool to you, were they rude, etc... and how the encounter came about to begin with.
I have a couple I could share. Complete opposite ends of the spectrum. I will just share the good one to keep this a positive post for now.
I met Jeff Van Note at the Falcons draft day event a few years ago. The year Duckett was picked (argh!). I had a football with me. I approached Mr. Van Note and asked him to sign my ball. He looked at the ball and then started talking about the ball. I was confused at first and thought he was trying to tell me that he couldnt sign it if if was not an official NFL ball. What he was really doing was telling me how to determine if it were an official NFL football or not. We then talked about his time with the Falcons and how he thought they would do that year. We talked for a good 10 or 15 mins. Then someone came over and told him he had 5 mins before air time (he was doing the draft day thing for radio that day). He signed my ball and handed it back to me and apologized for having to walk away. Needless to say this left me with a very high opinion of Mr. Van Note.

Interesting take on the return of Thomas Brown
I saw this article and found it interesting. thought I would share. Please feel free to share your thoughts on the subject. I tend to agree with what this guy is saying myself. If he can get back to PR/KR duties I think it only helps the overall running game in the long run and maybe helps some individuals in regards to them not getting worn down as the season progresses.
Newbie
New to the site, but like what I see so far. A Falcon fanatic since childhood, so this should be fun. Looking forward to reading and interacting with the things that you guys write about here. I am curious to see who we pick up in free agency and in the draft. If they offload that Vick contract it will be a freakin miracle though. We obviously need to focus on Defense this off season though. What do you guys think?
