"I really like the match-up. He's not as well known as Anthony Johnson or Rick Story, but I've been working so hard to get my skills better, to increase my level all-around with fighting. When you fight guys like Anthony Johnson, I'm not gonna try to stand with Anthony Johnson, that's common sense. So I like that Roberts is more on my level of striking. He's an explosive athlete, he's got great jiu-jitsu. Against Greg Soto he showed that he's pretty versatile with submissions so it's something I'm gonna work to use my new skills on, but at the same time if I can beat with my game, I'm gonna beat him with my game."

Up-and-coming UFC welterweight Charlie Brenneman, who was thrust into the spotlight with a sensational win over Rick Story, only to see it all taken away in an equally sensational loss to Anthony Johnson, tries to get back into the 170-pound title hunt when he takes on Daniel Roberts tonight (Jan. 20, 2012) at the UFC on FX event in Nashville, Tennessee. The mixed martial arts (MMA) community came together last Saturday (Dec. 3, 2011) for a special seminar to support the Daniel James Miller Foundation, created to assist UFC middleweight Dan Miller in caring for his son, who was born with autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD).

ARPKD is a cystic genetic disorder characterized by the presence of multiple fluid-filled cysts resulting in massive enlargement of the kidneys. The disease can also damage the liver, pancreas and, in some rare cases, the heart and brain.

Young Daniel, 2, has already had his kidneys removed and is currently awaiting a transplant.

MMAmania.com was on the scene at AMA Fight Club last weekend to talk to Miller as well as his brother, UFC lightweight contender Jim Miller, and fast-rising 185-pound prospect Chris Weidman, about the overwhelming support from the MMA community.

Can he go three for three on Aug. 14 at UFC on Versus 5 in Milwaukee?

I thought that the first day of the UFC 129 fan expo in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, had a large turnout. But the number of fans today (April 30, 2011) dwarfed the number of people that arrived yesterday.

From the opening of the event, fans were lining up outside and began pouring in. I felt bad for the security guards who did their best to handle the mayhem as best as they could.

There was no way to quickly differentiate VIP fans from exhibitioners, to regular priced fans, and I’m sure many people skipped the lines that were formed and were able to slip through the cracks. There was an immediate big "rush" to the Round 5 booth again where fans snatched up the last 100 or so limited edition Georges St. Pierre collectibles within the first hour of the expo.

Also at the Round 5 booth was Shannon Lee, the daughter of the one and only Bruce Lee, to attract attention to the line of Bruce Lee collectibles Round 5 will be releasing later this year. Shannon interacted with fans of the expo and discussed her father’s legacy with them, along with the progress the UFC has made in growing the sport of MMA.

What's up Maniacs, Harris Masood reporting live from the UFC Fan Expo here on day one in Toronto (April 29, 2011) and if there's one thing I learned on my first day, it's that Canadian fans are serious about mixed martial arts (MMA).

Very serious.

I arrived early to the Expo, before the VIP and the general admission audience. There were eager fans standing right outside the entrance to the center, staring at me with envious eyes as I was allowed past security while many of the Expo booth employees and promotional models were putting the finishing touches on their respective showcase areas.

When 9:00 a.m. hit, throngs of VIP fans came tumbling in and headed straight for the Round 5 booth to buy limited edition Georges St. Pierre figures that are an exclusive for the 2011 Toronto Expo. I saw fans buying up to six at a time, with some fans re-entering the long, winding line to hopefully purchase more figures of Canada's favorite MMA star.

Once it was 10 a.m., a stampede of fans ran towards the Round 5 booth even larger than before, adding to the already massive line that sprawled through the center. Round 5 also had a team of 3D graphics engineers with a face scanner system that they used to computer generate a virtual likeness of the fans' faces.

Round 5 emailed the scans of the rendered faces to the fans, and lucky winners who found a golden ticket on the back of their GSP figures were promised Round 5 figures of themselves.
