Sean Payton Banned for Year!
I was listening to 97.1the ticket, and they just announced that Sean Payton has been banned for 1 year. Gregg Williams has an indefinite ban. Obviously, while I am not a Saints fan, I think that 1 year is a really long suspension. With all of the shakeups within Saints organization (Drew Brees, ect.), are they still likely to be a power, or is there one less "top tier" team with the Leos to compete with?
*Also heard that New Orleans lost 2 second round picks!
Donte Whitner Leaving Buffalo?
There is a story over at Buffalo Rumblings (the Bill's version of POD) that is saying that Donte Whitner is not expecting to be resigned by the Buffalo Bills. What would y'all think about a safety duo of Donte Whitner and Louis Delmas. I liked Whitner back when he came out of the draft, and he would be an upgrade of Spievey. (not ready to give up on Spievey, but I think he isn't ready to be a starter yet. I'm just assuming that Buffalo will be cheap enough to let a quality guy go like this. If Buffalo ponies up the bucks, I guess this is a non-issue.

Anybody still upset we didnt get Haynesworth?
So Haynesworth CAN be a beast if he decides to, but stories like this (link to story) make me so glad that this guy does not wear the Honolulu Blue. Anybody who will make $100 million from a team, had better be GOOD enough to do anything. Hell, for $100 million, he should be returning punts for Washington if they asked him too. I am excited about our d-line, and I wouldn't replace anybody on it for Whinesworth.
P.S. Excited about seeing the boys back in action this week. Bye weeks suck, when you don't care about other games.
Does Gym Shorts have Math Abilities?
Let me preface all of this by saying that I do not doubt Jim's strategies too often. I am not ready to throw away the season after two losses (unlike some people on this blog). I see a lot of positives in the Lions vs. years past. HOWEVER, Why did Gym Shorts not kick the f-ing field goal in the fourth quarter. When you are down by 11, you can not get back to even with one drive. On third down, we cannot move the ball the 2 feet that we needed for the first down. So what do we do on fourth down? Run the same stupid play where they destroy us off the line and end our drive. Do we win if that happens, not necessarily, but at least make qb Dog Killer beat us in overtime. Gym Shorts has my faith when it comes to most football decisions, however, he should consider hiring me for math related decisions. (by the way, I realize hind sight is always 20/20, but when they were going for it, I thought it was the wrong decision)
I am impressed by the grit Shaun Hill has in the Fourth quarter. He seems to be one of those guys who only performs when pressure is at its absolute max. We should just keep Hill in a hurry up offense for the entire game and not allow him to look at the scoreboard.
Dan Haren traded
I know that there were some people on here who thought that Dan Haren could be somebody that D.D. could possibly be interested in trading for. While i'm not sure that the Tiger's should really be in a position to be buyers or sellers in the coming week, what would you guys like to see the Tiger's do as the trade deadline approaches?
Dan Haren went to the Angels by the way.
Bad teams rising in 2010?
Mike Florio thinks that the Lions might actually be a surprise this year because of the aggressiveness that we have shown in free agency and smart picks in the draft. I, for one, do not see this as a surprise. I do not see as pulling a Miami Dolphins (1-15 to 11-6), but I finally feel that the Lions have a direction, and it finally seems like it is the right direction. I know from reading on here (POD) that we all "drink the Kool-Aid" to some degree, but out of any of the teams listed in the video, who do you think has the best shot for a quick turnaround?

Lebda Signs with the Maple Leafs
Lebda might actually get to see some playing time. It will be a whole new experience; instead of watching games from the press box. Funny how the KHL tells the guy to get lost, but Toronto says "eh, what the hell?"
Now that we know for sure Lebda will not in Detroit next year, which veteran defense men would you like to see the wings sign (with or without Modano).
