I have probably thought about this topic more than I should have, but this year's line-up of defensive assistants in the SEC really raises some interesting questions. First, you have some old faces in new places, like John Chavis going from Tennessee to LSU. Then, you have some extremely old faces in new places, like Monte Kiffin taking over the reigns at Tennesee. Other new faces of note include Ted Roof at Auburn. Of these, who do you guys think will make the biggest impact on the SEC this year?

SEC Head Coaches on the hot seat

It's that time again. Last year, Fulmer and Croom were squarely on the hot seat before the season began, and both were ousted. No one could have predicted the bitter fall of Tubberville. This year, it isn't as clear from top to bottom who is on the hot seat. Rich Brooks and Les Miles could probably both keep their jobs even with another underwhelming season (comparatively speaking, of course). So, with that I ask this question: Which coach, for one reason or another will not be coaching their team this time next year?

I said before that I thought Croom and Fulmer would be on the hot seat by the end of this year. I think that Fulmer is WELL on his way to proving at least one of those predictions as true. Just check this:

Seems like the fans aren't quite happy about dropping 4 in a row to Florida. Of course, over his last 30 SEC games Fulmer is only hitting around the .500 mark. Not good.

My question is, assuming Mississippi State continues its downward spiral, will Croom be in any danger of losing his job at the end of this year, or will McCorvey be thrown under the bus?

5 Bold Predictions for 2008

....

1) LSU will lose 3 conference games

2) Tennessee will finish fourth in the East

3) Kentucky will not go to a bowl game

4) Mississippi State will finish below Ole Miss in the West (read: Croom on hot seat again)

5) Georgia will claw their way to 9 wins en route to the Peach Bowl

Any more bold predictions? Disagree with any of these? And will any other coaches besides Sylvester be on the hot seat at the end of the year?
