The definitive Iowa vs Pitt comeback pump up video.
I made this last night since I haven't made a Hawkeye video for awhile and the comeback vs Pitt is a perfect scenario. Hopefully that game fired up the team to win the division this year. Yes, these are supposed to be 70's porn songs. They are called Pimp Fight, Sexercise and SpiderPussy (it has you crawling back for more?). Its not as completely polished as I'd like but I did it all in one sitting and I wanted to get it up. I was inspired by some of those old 70's ABC videos.

Drunk. Pist. ISwho?
So did that shit really happen? Did I really spend 12 hours this week cleaning my place, doing yardwork, inviting friends over, buying booze and beers to watch us piss in the wind against shitberg Ames? I guess so... The one thing I can grasp at, like someone in icy cold waters fingering a floater is IT DON"T MATTER IN CONFERENCE. If this loss somehow fucks us out of the conference championship we will have done some amazing shit because at this point shit looks broke. ISfuckingU looked like mid 80's 49'rs and they normally can't even close a tab without shit going to pieces. I hope we grudge fuck the hell out of Pitt. I'm sorry if this post is crude, but SHIT JUST GOT REAL!
I'm headed to the Tenn Tech game. First game in 10+ years.
Hi guys. I graduated from Iowa in '95 and haven't been to a game since '98 or '99. I'm planning on going to the game w/ a buddy from high school and possibly my cousin. I have a few questions about how to make the most of being in town for a game for the first time in over a decade. Hopefully you guys have some answers that will help me and possibly others plan out the first Saturday of IOWA HAWKEYE FOOTBALL 2011!
Ohio St players charged with stealing keys.
Okay, so the title headline was a bit of a stretch but the "Ohio Player" in this video is doing some damage to musical keys in a way that is too hilarious not to share:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=TcMETIxUto0#at=66
As one youtube commenter proclaims:
"This dude is soooooo bad, he's not only singing lead vocals, but he's playing this electric piano parts and the horn parts at the same time...Do any of you know how difficult it is to pull this off?..."
To think that I just liked it for the squeaky cartoon voice he was using...
2009 Iowa vs Wisconsin. I had previously made this video without the cartoon effect and different music which was removed by Youtube. The effect doesn't work as well on this video because I didn't adjust the frame rate or speed. It would have entailed adjusting about 300 clips and cuts. Ideally if you want to use the cartoon effect you need to set it up one way for wide shots on the field and a different way for close ups. This was one of my favorite Iowa games from 2009. The song is called "Doctor Sex." Not sure if you should consider that a reference to Bret Bielema or not.
(Very nifty video, especially now when we're starved for football. FYI: you may want to play the music over headphones, though. It might be a little NSFW.)
Micah Hyde interception from the Insight Bowl. I tried to make it look animated by reducing the playback speed and frame rate while using a plug in called Cartoonr by NewBlueFX on Sony Vegas 9. The song is from a porno and is called "Special Delivery" so you know it will be catchy. Cartoon Kirk Ferentz loves it.
Son, I am disappoint
Yes, its a worthless internet meme bereft of wit, depth or anything resembling humor. You take a picture of a sad looking, working class joe with a thick neck and a heavy heart and plop some mangled english on it and you have the meme.
Yet, right now on this late Saturday, as the crepuscular light fades, I can think of only one phrase to summarize the hurt that haunts my heart. The team we love was once spoken of as a solid choice for the national championship. Now the Outback Bowl is sending out gift packs and well wishes. I'm sure I'll feel better by Tuesday, but right now...
Derrell Johnson-Koulianos is refraining from speaking to the cameras per his agreement with Coach Ferentz. DJK is normally very entertaining and informative in interviews, but if the Coach is making it "play time" vs "interview time," I'd rather watch DJK do his talking on the field.
Chinese factories gear up for Nebraska product line. Updated image!
Its a time of change in the Big 10. Its been 17+ years since our storied conference has added Penn St, the football power of the east. Next year we will incorporate the 4th most winningest program in college football, the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Led by a stingy defense and ultra intense coach, they look to make an impact in the Big 10 and college football during the 2011 season. Factories in China are gearing up for this massive opportunity to cash in on the Husker mystique as college football fans worldwide turn their attention to the changes developing in the midwestern United States. Chinese product development managers have done their research well and have developed the perfect product for the Big Red Nation:
It is reported that these products may be part of a product bundle incorporating a black shirt and a small booklet that lists every Nebraska score from the 90's.
*EDIT I put the new image above, the original is below:

What do Nittany Lions think about a possible Iowa vs Nebraska rivalry?
Penn St vs Iowa have provided football fans some very memorable moments. As the Big10 decides on divisions it seems apparent that Herbie and Herky are going to be in the same division, and probably season ending rivals with championship game implications. What advice do you have for each program about the other? You played Nebraska in some huge bowls and had some important games against Iowa. Any words of advice or warning for each program as they face each other? Any thoughts on Penn St and their place in splitting the Big 10 divisions?
The BigTenNetwork
I'm not sure how much of the Husker nation currently receives the Big Ten Network. Probably a lot of them, since the Big Ten Network is available most places. This week the BTN is showing a lot of Iowa football games on a show they run called "The Big Ten's Greatest Games." Check out this week's BTN programming with Iowa football games.
Tues: 2002 Iowa at Penn St
Iowa went undefeated in conference play this season. This game features an incredible Penn St comeback that almost succeeds. This might have been the game with Joe Pa running down a ref after a game that resulted in the Big 10 instituting instant replay.
Wed: 2008 Penn St at Iowa
Late in the season in 2008, #3 Penn St has to get past Iowa if they want to play in the national championship.
Thurs: 2005 Cap One bowl Iowa vs LSU
Amazing finish to a game that capped an amazing season. Iowa's 2004 squad excelled despite being down to its 5th and 6th string backs for most of the season.
Fri: 2002 Purdue at Iowa-
One of the toughest and most closely fought games of 2002. 90+ yard tight end Dallas Clark TD.
Sat: 2009 - N. Iowa at Iowa
A sluggish opening start for Iowa results in an exciting finish that ends with 2 consecutive play blocked field goals, a historic NCAA football first.
I'm not a BTN corporate shill, but since Nebraska joining the Big 10 is so huge, and since the BTN is part of the reason the Big10 is doing well, I thought you guys might want to check out some of their programming. Don't worry, there are also several Greatest Games episodes where Iowa ends up losing. I'm not sure if it's on purpose or not, but they really are playing a lot of Iowa content this week. I think it is because BTN believes a Nebraska - Iowa rivalry would be another game that draws national attention and could become an epic rivalry.
I agree with them and think the Nebraska - Iowa game would be a great rivalry game for both schools and fanbases. Welcome to the Big 10, I look forward to them airing some of your historic games from when you were in the Big 8 and Big 12.
Vandervelde singing national anthem in front of Obama.
* UI senior Julian Vandervelde, a Davenport native, will sing the national anthem. He is starting offensive guard for the UI football team, and a CLAS student majoring in English and religious studies with a minor in Japanese.

That's pretty cool I guess. Majoring in English, religious studies and a minor in Japanese. Maybe he's part of Iowa football's efforts at increasing their presence in east asia?
Girl's Generation - Oh! Iowa!
I was trying to blend some Hawkeye footage into the Korean pop video but it was more difficult than I thought it would be and taking too long so I only got half way. Maybe I'll finish it, maybe not, but in the meantime check out Oh! Iowa!
It would be cool to see a real editor try and blend in some raw HD Iowa footage to try and make the whole thing as seemless as possible. Is this 75 words yet?
