South Side Sox BMO: Because closed commenting makes it hard to comment.

It's getting harder to find things to write about because of my increasingly jaded state as owner of the Brewers.  I just can't seem to get over the hump, hence the raising of the white flag.

At any rate, there's plenty to talk about if you dig a little.

In the NL Atlanta and San Fran seem to be the teams to beat, while Chicago, Houston and St. Louis are beating the tar out of each other with my Brewers playing the role of the '11 White Sox.  Arizona and Florida are both playing really well and could make second half pushes of their own.

The AL is tighter across the board, as there is less disparity between the first place and middling clubs, but watch out if Tampa Bay gets it together, that team looks brutal on paper.  If they go on a run, I think they'll take the league.

Also Minnesota has a baseball team named after a voracious and ugly fish, and they are in first place.

A link to something we probably all have bookmarked by now.

South Side Sox BMO: Fighting for a roster spot on the RR

Sheesh!

With the influx of "talent" to the Right Rail lately, we've had a hard time keeping these threads visible.  Anyway, where were we?

In league one, with just about a week remaining, the top spots in four of the six division are all wrapped up, with the exceptions being in the AL Central and West.  The race between the Caesars and American Giants for their division is tight and the Carmines are nipping at the heels of the loser for the wild card spot.  Should make for a really interesting finish.  The AL West, however is an abomination, and should be demoted to the National League for their subpar effort. Speaking of the Junior Circuit, there is a pretty good dust-up in progress between Chicago, Milwaukee, New York and Atlanta for the final playoff spot.  With the AL West being as piss poor as it is, there are ten teams in all still vying for a chance to play in the BMO second season.

In league two, we've just about wrapped up our first season and Arizona and Anaheim will play for the league's first championship.  Arizona allowed just 6 runs in their 4 game domination of St. Louis, meanwhile the Angels have played the maximum amount of games this postseason, having gone the distance against Minnesota in the first round and Oakland in the CS.  Doesn't matter how you got there, though, just that you arrived.  It should be a low scoring series between these two teams as both teams did a fantastic job shutting down opponents during the regular season (Angels 2nd in the AL in RA and Arizona 1st overall in run prevention).

With both seasons winding down, the offseasons are upon us and with them will come the draft, free agency and the trade window reopening.  Should be an interesting week.  Thanks for playing, and if you have any questions feel free to message me in game.

One last note, we're still looking for players to take Cincinnati in both leagues, and Pittsburgh will be coming open in league 1 as well.  Additionally, Colin has been conspicuously absent (17 days since last login), despite the fact that he's a regular contributor to the site, so if anyone wants Oakland, I'd be happy to bump him out and plug you in.

South Side Sox The Pablo Ozuna BMO Utility Thread

There is probably no easy way to do this, with two leagues chugging along on a consistent basis, but I think we'll all figure out the best way to post here as we go along.

Somehow, both leagues have but one opening, and in both leagues it is the effin' Reds.  I know Cincinnati isn't the first place you think of when you start planning your retirement, but c'mon, it's not nearly as bad as say, Cleveland.  So it goes.

Both leagues are rapidly approaching their trade deadlines, so post your trade chatter here and as always, post any questions, comments or concerns here on what you think we can do to make our leagues better and more interesting places to play.  Linkage below:

South Side Sox BMO Breakaway League

Hello friends,

We need to discuss what pace we want this league to move at; what, if any expense caps we'd like to see instituted; revenue sharing guidelines; salary caps/floors; and most importantly - what freakin' teams you guys want.  As far as I'm concerned, it should be on a first come, first serve basis and Rhubarb, Matt, Scott 2.0 and I are the only ones to claim teams thus far (San Fran, Seattle, NYM and Milwaukee, respectively), so everything else is relatively open season.

Any other issues that we've had with the game that need to be addressed, we can hash out here before I unlock the gates to let us all in to play.  Here's to BMO 2.0 - or something...

Arizona: Gus
Atlanta: grp
Baltimore: treehousewarrior
Boston: mwjergs
Chicago (N): tkhawk
Chicago (A):
Cincinnati: Daryl
Cleveland: IronSchenk
Colorado: Rhubarb
Detroit: Craig
Florida: 3Run
Houston:
Kansas City: Blackoutsox
Los Angeles: Candiru
LA Anaheim: SteveKerr
Milwaukee: Hazymania
Minnesota: Shoeless
New York (N):
New York (A):
Oakland: GiT
Philadelphia: Powerdgr19
Pittsburgh:
San Diego: Thrustacular
San Francisco: stein
Seattle: Whitesoxmatt
St. Louis: Kyle
Tampa: Scott2.0
Texas: Rhythm
Toronto: 3E8
D.C.: Barold? (pending)

Rhythm, has your friend emailed me?  I've gotten several from people from other SBNs so I'm not sure if he's one of them.

South Side Sox BMO: Where we've survived several raptures already.

The previous Post was rapidly being pushed down into obscurity.  This happy little post takes us into 2015 where our boys in pale hose can't seem to get past the might of the batting pitcher.  While we all would have liked to have seen the White Sox play the Expos in the 94 series, I know none of us would have wanted it to end THAT way.  Oh well, on to the obsession.

Here be your elusive link to BMO.

The closest he's ever going to come to making the hall of fame is apparently to portray a hall of famer in a movie. Personally, I see big things for him. Sports entertainment? The WWE can't be far behind.

In what has otherwise been a very slow couple of weeks for news, I just happened to come across this on MLBTR tonight.

I think most of us know what this entails by now.

Hilarity ensues, though it makes me miss JI, all the more.

So there's this site called Fangraphs that exists. This Dave Cameron fella wrote this about Farnsworth being in the mix for the fifth starter spot.

South Side Sox SSS Fantasy Football Reminder

SSS Bukkake members this is a friendly reminder that the Live Draft is this Sunday at noon.

Names I recognize are Peder and Furby and well that's really it.  At any rate, so nobody misses out mark your calendars or at least grab a post-it note!

See you guys there, let the smack talk begin!

And here begins the cumpulsory sprint to reach 75 words, a truly asenine quality of the fan post and with any luck one that will be done away with in future variations of SBN sites.  That should do it.

South Side Sox Thome; Forever an Indian?

Currently, Jim Thome sits at 509 homeruns thus making him a member of the coveted 500 club.  While there seems to be some debate as to whether or not this guarantees a player a spot in Cooperstown, one can at least assume he stands a chance of making it.

Having said that, Thome has received a less than warm reception every time he's stepped to the plate in Cleveland, the city he first broke in to the big leagues with in 1991.

For the sake of discussion, let's say Big Jim is honored in Cooperstown a few years down the line.  Which team's hat does everyone think his bust will be wearing?
