Two Realistic MOCKS

Because of all the unrealistic mocks I've seen lately, I've developed two which I feel are very realistic and pertain to two different scenarios.

Scenario #1 We Do NOT Re-Sign D.Bell

RD1: Johnathan Martin, OT Stanford (Becomes immediate starter at LT)

RD2: Juron Criner, WR Arizona (At 6'3 224lbs he fits the big WR need) (Also if Alshon Jeffery, Vontaze Burfict or Chase Minnifield falls to us here, they are no-brainer picks)

RD3: Cam Johnson, DE Virginia (Could be a good 4-3 end)

RD4: Shaun Prater, CB Iowa (Fills need for additional corner)

RD4(2): Sean Spence, OLB Miami (Quick edge OLB)

RD5: Malik Jackson, DE Tenesee (4-3 DE)

RD5(2): BJ Coleman, QB Chattanooga (Developmental QB)

RD6: Kevin Kroger, TE Michigan (Depth TE)

Our Current Roster Analysis (Be Gentile Im New)

First and foremost I wanted to sincerely apologize for a derogatory term I used to describe Buddy Nix a few days ago. I dont want anyone to get the wrong impression of me right off the bat.

Now that thats out of the way, I would like to give my analysis of the current roster. Enjoy

QB: Obviously this has been a position of need since Doug Flutie (some would argue Jim Kelly) however Ryan Fitzpatrick is the most serviceable one we have had in over a decade. I would say that Ryan is right about middle of the pack when compared to other starting QB's in the league (maybe a bit below average). I strongly believe that we should bring a young QB to learn behind him for a few seasons. The 2012 draft has a few very talented guys projected to go early and realistically I can see us having a chance at at least one of them (Most likely Landry Jones IMHO)

RB: I strongly believe that Fred is more than serviceable and should remain our back until CJ Spiller can develop. Unfortunately the coaching staff does not give him the respect he deserves however he is at the age where a decline in skill may be on the horizon.

WR: Stevie Johnson is an excellent WR. But even the best need someone talented opposite them in order to truly flourish. We took that away from Stevie and I still have no clue why, but I digress. I believe that this has to be a top FA priority going into next season. Stevie needs a solid respectable vet opposite from him to draw aaway some of the coverage.

TE: Dreadful. Chandler looks ok but we really need a more talented guy here.

OL: By far the most dreadful aspect of our team. Both of our Tackles are suspect at times. Bell shows flashes of talent (VS Julius Peppers Last Week) but looks atrocious at other times (VS Dumerville This Week) and Eric Pears has looked somewhat serviceable so far but again is below average. At Guard I still like Levitre despite the game of musical chairs he seems to be playing as of late with his teammates. I also really like the grit and prospect of Chad Rinehart. I really hope he replaces Urbik (horrible) on the right side because he is miles ahead IMHO. Eric Wood at Center is a future Pro Bowler and really the only guy who deserves to start in the NFL on our O-line. We need to address the tackle position early in the next draft (no later than round 2) and also I wouldnt mind bringing in a vet FA if one is available in 2012...

DL: Looks sick nasty. By far our best attribute. Dareus looks fantastic and should be a force for us for a looong time. Kyle Williams is our best player IMO and I am very glad to see him being re-signed. Edwards is average but is fine for now at right end. This line (if healthy) should be one of the leagues best and really help our dreadful numbers against the run from last season.

LB: Also looks very good and keeps getting better! Merriman looks like his old self (for now), Barnett looks like a significant improvement over Poz and the addition of Kirk Morrison made me actually re-consider my stance on Buddy Nix (only slightly though). Kelsay still looks slow to me and really I dont understand his extention especially considering Fred Jackson still doesnt have one (I know that is like comparing apples to oranges but come on...) My only issue is with Moats being moved to the inside. He seems like too talented of a pass rusher to be there but, Chan clearly knows better than us armchair coaches.

CB/S: Our corners are the true Jekyll and Hyde of our team. At times they all have the potential to look terrific, but other times they can be atrocious. McGee is the most consistent however he can never manage to stay healthy for long enough to make a real impact on the season. McKelvin is an athletic specimin (spelling?) however he lacks the mental ability and discipline to be the blue chipper the organization was hoping for when they drafted him 11th overall. Florence was great last season however looks a bit suspect so far in the pre-season. Hopefully he pulls it all together because he was our best corner last year. I am excited about Williams but he needs time to grow. Same goes for Searcy at Safety. Byrd had a sophmore slump but expect him to rebound. Nobody with that much talent and ball-hawking ability stays down for long.

Mock Version 1 (He Hate Me)

I feel very strongly that the Bills are committed to a BPA strategy. Within reason. I also believe that this organization has NO intention of trading down. They have made it very clear that they want to add marquee talent and they intend to do that with the third pick IMHO. That being said, here is my 7 round mock, enjoy and discuss :)

Round 1: CB Patrick Peterson, LSU -- Patrick may be the BPA in the entire draft and is a notorious playmaker. A team like the Bills who are looking to add starpower and build a winner cannot afford to pass up on him. However if the Bills want to gear more toward offense in the first round (anything is possible), then they may go with AJ Green or throw us another curveball and draft Cam Newton.

Round 2: QB Colin Kaepernick, Nevada -- He fits Chan's type of QB. Plain and simple. He is tall, athletic, and mobile. Plus he ran the pistol in college. Some will argue this is too high for him but his stock continues to climb. Other possibilities include Martez WIlson which would help our glaring need at LB or QB Christian Ponder who had a VERY strong senior bowl under Chan Gailey and who was apparently heavily scouted by Chan while he was at GT.

Round 3: LB Greg Jones, Michigan State -- Fills a hole at LB and was once considered a very early pick. Also he can play both middle and outside linebacker which I believe ca be valuable in the 3-4.

Round 4: FB Owen Marecic, Stanford -- Versatile and a natural leader. Just the type of guy we could use.

Round 4 (2): ILB Casey Matthews, Oregon -- If he is anything like his big brother Clay, he could be the steal of the draft.

Round 5: TE DJ Williams, Arkansas -- Need a TE and he is a gamer.

Round 6: SS Eric Hagg Nebraska -- Donte Whitner is as good as gone.

Round 7: BPA?

Again this is just my opinion, I am no draft guru like some claim to be. Thoughts?

I know he is old but he could rly help w some veteran leadership and a stop gap at center until Wood is healthy. Plus he has started every game for the past eight seasons (between Denver and KC). He was recently released with Lamont Jordan and should come cheap at age 36. Just sayin he could be a good option to help develop a young o-line. Not to mention he was a pro bowler in 2008 just one season ago. I would seriously consider him if i was Chix.

Rumor has it (according to SB Nation) that hes being released. Id take him in a heart beat! Removes some of the need to immediately acquire a younger tackle. Also if we decide to draft a tackle in this year's draft, he is a great guy to develop behind. Should come at a reasonable salary, and for all the critics, he definitely has at least one season left in him to start. One of the best of all time. GET IT DONE!

Round 1: OT Anthony Davis, Rutgers

Big big man, shows excellent skill. Work ethic is a slight issue but the Chan Man may be able to fix that with a no-nonsense approach.

Round 2: DT Terrence Cody, Alabama

What a force he can be and now that the defense is officially in a 3-4 set, we need a mammoth in the middle, and hes one big bulldozer.

Round 3: ILB Pat Angerer, Iowa

Depending on how far Tebow falls he could be had here but as of right now he will not be a 3rd rounder. Angerer is a gamer and will fit the 3-4

Round 4: QB Dan LeFevour, Central Michigan

We need “Gailey’s guy” but unfortunately other positions need to be addressed first and unless you want Snead (God NOOOOO) then theres nobody in the 3rd round worth taking. Luckily this guy is a developer’s dream with an excellent attitude and work ethic. Someone to develop behind a stop gap like Pennington, Vick, etc…

Round 5: TE Jimmy Graham, Miami

Still need blocking help and this guy is a giant at 6’8 and 256 lbs. Great compliment to Nelson’s athleticism and catching ability. This man will be a steal in rd.5 and my surprise of the draft.

Round 6 WR Freddie Barnes, Bowling Green

Need another taller WR with the probable departure of T.O. And at 6’2 hes no shorty. Sure hes from a weak conference but a great pick in rd 6

Round 6 (2): RB James Starks, UB

Injury sent this kid from a potential first rounder to a potential undrafted signing. Great scat back to develop behind Jackson.

Round 7: Center Jim Cordle, Ohio State

Line depth which we sorely need.
