Herschel Walker has multiple personality disorder
Turns out Walker may not be of sound mind. Found this interesting article: http://www.herschelwalker.net/content.asp?title=ABC%27s%20Nightline%20Interview%20with%20Bob%20Woodruff&menuid=Interviews&contentid=ABC%20Bob%20Woodruff&id=112
An exerpt for ya:
""I told somebody once, 'You don't want the Herschel that plays football ... babysitting your child," Walker told ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff. "When I am competing, I am a totally different person.'"
He means it literally.
For the first time, the 46-year-old former professional football player reveals in a book published this week, "Breaking Free," that he has a rare and controversial mental illness called dissociative identity disorder — or D.I.D. — formerly known as multiple personality disorder.
"I had it the whole time, I just didn't know what it was," Walker said.
The athlete who played 15 seasons of professional football in the NFL and USFL and pushed a bobsled for the 1992 U.S. Olympic team in Albertville, France; the family man who married his college sweetheart; the man who once danced with the Fort Worth Ballet; the business man
Walker says none of those guys were him. Not really. Those were his "alters," he says -- alternate personalities. "
The article goes on to list some rather frightening things he has done in the past involving guns and loved ones.
Dr Johnny Benjamin also has a blog post suggesting a link between the above and repeated concussions. You have to assume an NFL RB with a career as long as his, he must have had more than his fair share.
At first when I heard about Herschal entering into MMA I thought it was a bad idea. But I was quickly turned around when I heard he was donating his earnings to charity and recalled his long time martial arts training. Well, I've come 360 now. I'm actually hoping an athletic commision won't allow him in the ring.

Canseco betting odds?Canseco no show?
I don't bet on sports for money....because I suck balls at it.
I do still use centsports, a free site, for fun. They have all the super Hulk odds up except for Conseco vs Choi.
Anybody else see the same thing on their gambling sites? If so I'm thinking he's gonna no show.
Also of note, based on the same site, Houston Alexander appears to be filling in for whatshisface at this weekends UFC. He should be pretty ramped up, his youngest daughter just graduated 1st grade.

UFC vet sightings at NAGA Dallas
Participated in allegedly the 2nd biggest grappling tournament in America this weekend, NAGA in Dallas. Over 1400 competitors showed up.
First spotted Guy Mezger. Still looks in fight shape. Then noticed Tra Telligman next to him, who was definitely not killed in the ring by Tim Sylvia....
At first I thought it might even be Josh Barnett, but then we saw the tell tale missing pec. At that point I speculated with my girlfriend that if Tra does have a cat, it most likely prefers to nap in said missing pec.
Tra was there to coach some moppy headed kid that got 2nd his division. Kid had a different last name than Telligman so maybe it was a nephew.
Then my girlfriend spotted Travis Lutter....he was wearing a competitor wristband but sadly was just there in coaching capacity. He did not look in fight shape...not fat or anything but he aint gettin back in the UFC anytiime soon.
Next we saw Sam Hoger....who is huge. Not ripped huge, but has a giant frame. For some reason in my mind he was a middle weight, but the guy has to be walkin around at 220+. Sam also seemed to be the most approachable and always had a smile on his face.
Saw one other guy I recognised but dont know his name. Super bulky LHW spanish guy with longish hair. Usually fights for mid-tier orgs but think he'd done UFC.
Last interesting note was in the expert division for the 50lb and under kids division the final match was Rocky vs Ivan. Rocky won rather easily.

The Snowman Lands at Midnight
Sorry, that title was a code phrase we used for something else in highschool.
Never the less, Jeff "the Snowman" Monson will be in Austin Tx to fight for XFC.Whether he was planning this for awhile or it was spur of the moment to get some quick cash due to recent events I don't know.
What I do know is I should have an opportunity to ask him some questions...maybe. http://www.xfcfights.com/page/event-list
I am assuming I will have a chance to talk with him at the seminar or after the actual fight. If I am especially bold I may go to the unusual 'Meet a fighter at the bar event' they have listed as well.
On the other hand I may decide he's a scary and stay away.
But the question I pose to you, readers of BE is: What would you ask Jeff Monson?

Anderson Silva impersonates Bruce Lee
http://www.mma-id.com/Carlos/?mod=vvid&act=view&vid=85
This is the most personality I have ever seen out of the man. I first watched it on mute and then later found out he was doing the " waaataaaahhh!!". Enjoy.
The site also has a pretty cool gallery of kid photos of MMA stars: Fedor, Aleks, Crocop, Diego, Bas, Forrest, Tito (it explains a lot), Wandy, and others.
My girlfriend sent me this one today. Fedor feeding some geese. http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/MetellusCimber/FedorGoose.jpg

Effect of a DQ on rankings
Am I alone in thinking that a DQ (disqualification, not dairy queen)shouldnt be entirely ignored when it comes to rankings?
For example, when nick Diaz put the gogo on Gomi the fight was thrown out because Nick smokes pot. Gomi didnt drop in the polls, he's still #2 in some of them today and hasn't done anything significant since.
Another case: Crocop vs Overeem. It was a DQ for the knees to the nuts but anyone who watched that fight saw what was happening. Crocop was getting owned. And yet crocop is still in many top tens and ahead of overeem in some cases.
I'm not dissing any of the fighters. I am fans of all the aforementioned fighters. I just know what I saw and I think it should effect rankings.
Does anyone else have other examples of this?
Does anyone completely disagree with me? (regarding this post, not how pretty my mom is or anything)
Also, I'm new to this. How the F do I attach a pic from my desktop?
