Cleveland Players.
As I look at Phil Dawson, I notice that this man has played all 192 games of his professional career in Cleveland. All 192 games with the same struggling squad. I think to myself... what's the incentive for players like him to come and stay here? Besides a lucrative contract and a chance to play for an NFL team, it seems like some players are quick to dismiss the Browns as a potential team they'd like to play for.
General thread
In case there is no thread for the Orlando game tonight, let's use this one if anyone feels to talk about the game. Our last game was actually exciting; we stayed with the offensive powerhouse Denver for most of the game. Anywho, that's not all I wanted to discuss here.
Now that we are way passed the Decision and all that crap, does anyone else think that firing Mike Brown was solely done to appease LeBron? Or were their other issues that warranted it? Also, who do you want to see gone from the Cavs by season end? Who do you want to stay? I personally would like to see Powe, Parker, and Moon go. Everyone else is up for consideration.
I am really excited for the upcoming draft and to see all of our young players make contributions. This youth movement will pay off in the long run as long as we keep adding prospects and developing a system based on depth.
Just a general thread, I guess. I want to see some life back in this place!
Pre-games and threads.
Why is there a lack of posting from the authors/editors on this site? Sure, there are not that many people, but I'd like to hop on here and discuss some Cavs basketball with everybody. As grim as our situation is, this is still my team, my team that I will watch till the end of time. I'd like to see some more pre-game previews and larger game threads so we Cavs fans can stick together.
Cavs to STO
Would anyone be in favor of moving the Cavaliers from FSN Ohio to STO? Here's my dilemma. I'm a huge Blue Jackets fan and a Cavaliers fan. When the Cavs and Jackets play at the same time, FSN Ohio shows only the Cavs in the Cleveland area and I am forced to find an internet feed or watch the game on Time Warner's Center Ice package. STO is pretty vacant after the Indians season is over. Personally, I don't give a rat's ass about high school football (I am baffled as to how many people actually care that have nothing to do with their kids on the team). I think, for people in my situation at least, it would be beneficial for STO if the Cavs moved there. I want to watch my two beloved teams at the same time. Does anybody know how long the Cavaliers are under contract with FSN Ohio?
Broadcasting problem
Does anybody know how long the Blue Jackets are under contract with FSN Ohio? And, does anybody receive two channels from FSN Ohio?
The thing is, whenever the Cavs and Jackets play at the same time, the Jackets are not shown in the Cleveland area. I love both teams, but I prefer to watch hockey rather than basketball sometimes. I have Time Warner's Center Ice package, but I'd love to not order it and just watch my teams on local channels, because Center Ice is expensive. I'd like to see the Cavs moved to STO. Not that FSN Ohio has bad coverage, I just need my teams to be shown simultaneously.
Call me crazy, but....
Since Redden got placed on waivers, I think now is a great opportunity to pick him up. Maybe see what he's got before the season is over. Worst comes to worst, we can always just put him back on waivers when we send him to Springfield. Everybody struggles in the Rangers system these days. I'm not counting him out, yet. I still am not satisfied with our defense. It looks generally the same since last year, and I don't like that. We have nothing to lose with Redden. He might even come back to his Ottawa form with us.
Thinking out loud
How much would Modano help Columbus if we were to pursue him this summer? I know Columbus loves to pick up washed up players (the sting of Peca is still felt) but I think Modano could be a steal. Maybe we can move somebody down to 4th line center and have Modano on the second or third line? I know he's a goal scorer, not a grinder, but with his age he's not as mobile as he used to be. Just something to think about.
