Now I'm sad.

Yes, lots of dumb luck. I mean, even Humber threw a perfect game. And Chris Bosio.

This is one of my all time favorite things, I show this to everyone I know whenever they mention Scott Stapp

Morrison too, really?

I am already looking forward to this one. I'll have to keep an eye out.

I just posted on this above, and it answers the question I was asking in a roundabout way.

Yes--I actually think Americanized cider is pretty lame

Yes. That raspberry cider is my favorite. I originally was pretty into the cider craze but I think I've overdone it and have gotten a little sugared out

I would like for someone to join with the name ee cummings and see what kind of fun we could have with that.

Recced for ignoring the implosion threads above and just reasonably answering the questions and giving your thoughts
Commented on 7-7: Chart on Apr 17 2014, 11:44a
Yeah. It was 2 - 1 M's in the 9th when I sat down in the bar at my favorite Mexican place, and I hadn't even gotten my drink by the time they lost

I think this is an overly simplistic view of the outfield, personally
Commented on Seattle Mariners call up Nick Franklin on Apr 16 2014, 5:40p
Correct, otherwise you could go in circles. And if you're talking about damage to the team...

Todd, if you're reading this, I apologize for calling you an asshole, I was out of line.

I don't know what you're basing that on.

He has 0 innings in the majors or the minors, but he might have a few spring training innings.

Raul Ibanez level would be a win, in my book, because the floor is much lower.
Commented on Seattle Mariners call up Nick Franklin on Apr 16 2014, 4:27p
I just think people are underestimating the difficulty level of playing the outfield in the majors.

According to the Bill James defensive spectrum, as Goose notes. Also due to the overwhelming number of occasions where older players move to first base

Amusing, but Raul CAN actually make putouts. He made 164 putouts in 174 chances, with 6 OF assists in 99 games in LF last year.

Yeah. Even Ackley got a couple weeks of OF practice in the minors before coming up to Seattle.
Commented on Seattle Mariners call up Nick Franklin on Apr 16 2014, 3:56p
It's significantly easier to slot into 1st than it is to slot into the OF without experience

And the offensive bar for corner outfielders is a lot higher... at which point you're talking about turning Franklin into a replacement-level outfielder
Commented on Seattle Mariners call up Nick Franklin on Apr 16 2014, 3:50p
I'd be fine with Franklin in the OF after the adjustment period, but it's that adjustment that I'm worried about

I understand the angle being argued here, but we're talking about an easy decision with Miguel Cabrera's bat vs. some asshole like Chris Aquila or Todd Hollandsworth.

Kind of a stark change to last year's 24:52 ratio. I don't want to talk about it.

Coincidentally, Beavan's shoulder was stiff yesterday too. I'll cross my fingers that it's just the cold weather.

Nobody has this much depth. The Rangers, both this year and last year, have been forced to start a ton of young kids earlier than they'd like.

I got it to 50, at least. That's pretty good.
