Calm down, we are only rebuilding!!
Some of you folks need to calm down and quit getting so worked up! We are only in year 53 of our rebuilding effort. Have some patience with these coaches and the front office personnel. We have played the 3 freaking best teams in the NFL the past few weeks, and we are 3-0 in the moral victory column. I don't know what everyone is getting so worked up for. This winning thing is a slow arduous process that takes many years to accomplish. You can look around the league at the teams who are winning this year and clearly see that.
Martin Mayhew has got to go.
I know there are quite a few of you, that for whatever reason, think Martin Mayhew is a genious, and every move he makes is astounding. But frankly, he's not, and they aren't. I hope the Lions can somehow win this weekend. But I think most of us know, that realistically, with the way the past 3 weeks have gone, and the way the Packers lost on Monday night, we don't have a chance in hell this Sunday. That being said, the Lions will be 2-18 during Mayhew's reign. He will have a .100 winning percentage. Much lower than the .242 winning percentage that his predecessor Matt Millen had. I agree with everyone else, that Matt had to go. But Martin is not cutting it. You can get on board now. Or you can wait another couple of years, and eventually each and every one of you can climb on one at a time. Clearly, there is no doubt, that Martin has got to go! If you disagree, then tell me why other GM's are able to go into places like Miami and turn things around so quickly. Why can teams hire a new GM and new coach, and turn things around in a year in some places, but we have to give everybody a minimum of 3 years to figure out that they aren't the right people for the job. What great trades has he made that have gotten the Lions any more wins than they would have had before? What great draft picks has he made that have gotten the Lions any more wins than they would have had without him? Case closed. He is not the right man for the job. Maybe it would be tough to get the right man to come here. But I am tired of heading into games like Minnesota and Green Bay, knowing that we don't even have a chance.

Which one of these guys do you take in Round 3?
I am ecstatic with what the Lions got on day 1. They filled 2 of their biggest holes, and didn't have to give up too much to do it. Suh will be an unbelievable force for the team his rookie season. But as a Lions fan who is use to being beaten down by many years of losing, I am waiting for whatever can go wrong to go wrong. Reggie Brown would have been a great player for the Lions too, if he hadn't got injured in 97. Hopefully the same thing doesn't occur again. The Lions still have a few glaring needs. Especially after trading Ernie Sims, which I still don't completely understand. Most of the players below will not be around when the Lions pick # 66 overall, but.....
