Big Country Down!!!......

Damn.  Good news is he's expected back for the opener.

Titans right tackle David Stewart is scheduled for arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday morning and is expected to miss at least two preseason games.

Stewart injured the knee in the team’s preseason game against the Rams and missed practices earlier in this week. He’s expected to be replaced in the starting lineup for Friday night’s game against the Raiders by fourth-year player Daniel Loper

To lighten the mood......

God asks Peyton Manning first: 'What do you believe?'

Peyton thinks long and hard, looks God in the eye, and says, 'I believe in hard work, and in staying true to family and friends. I believe in giving. I was lucky, but I always tried to do right by my fans.'

God can't help but see the essential goodness of Manning, and offers him a seat to his left.

Then God turns to Tony Romo and says, 'What do you believe?'

Tony says, 'I believe passion, discipline, courage and honor are the fundamentals of life. I, too, have been lucky, but win or lose, I've always tried to be a true sportsman, both on and off the playing fields.'

God is greatly moved by Tony's sincere eloquence, and he offers him a seat to his right.

Finally, God turns to Vince Young: 'And you, Vince, what do you believe?'

Vince replies, 'I believe you're in my seat.'

Who Knew.......

This was taken from an aritcle in the Tennessean that was talking about a DB the Titans are looking at out of OSU.  Didn't know Jeff was deaf in one ear.

Wonder if Jerry Jones and the Cowgirls would look at a guy like that.  I mean, I don't think Van Zant has a long rap sheet.

"While he's not in the Titans plans for 2008, the team at least plans to give him a look. Agent Kelli Masters said Titans Coach Jeff Fisher, who is 90 percent deaf in his right ear after being born without an ear canal, has taken a special interest in Van Zant."

Tennessean Blog

Hey Jimmy,  did you apply for or show any interest in the vacancy that was created when Kuharsky left?  Because the guy that they hired to replace him is a complete tool.  Have any of ya'll read what that dude posts on his blog?  He has thrown together a few random quotes and then doesn't even put them in any type of legible structure.

Our beloved Jimmy would have been much, much better.  Hell, ol' Beans or Joy Kat would be better.  I wouldn't agree with the crap that would be posted, but at least it would be well written with attempts to support their beliefs.  I'd even like to see our resident dead head writing on that blog.

I just can't believe that a newspaper or any professional outfit would hire a guy that writes that poorly.

Tennessee Titans Sign First Round Pick RB Chris Johnson

http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080726/SPORTS01/80726003/1027

The Titans agreed to terms with rookie running back Chris Johnson on Saturday morning.

Johnson, the team’s first-round pick (24th overall), is expected to undergo a physical today, and the Titans hope he'll be able to be on the field when the team practices at 3:30 p.m.

I was starting to get antsy.  Glad he only missed one day!

[UPDATE]--Johnson's deal is for 5 years and is estimated to be worth $12 million with $7 million in guarantees.

Just 2 more to go!

http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080722/SPORTS01/80722144/1027

"The Titans have agreed to terms with five of their seven 2008 draft picks. Running back Chris Johnson (first round) and defensive lineman Jason Jones (second) remain unsigned."

Almost here boys and girls!  2 days and a wake up!  I'm glad the Titans are getting most everybody signed.  Hopefully Reiny will have Johnson and Jones wrapped up by Friday.  Johnson really, really needs to be in camp on time.

Go Titans!

OT:New Move

Hey guys.  Sorry I haven't been around much, but I just transfered to Montana and have been dealing with that for the past couple of months.  It's been several years since I moved last and I had forgotten how horrible a big move is.  Of course, we've added another kid and dog since the last move and all the crap that goes with it, so that added to the mess.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and let everyone know why I had disappeared.  I've noticed a disturbing lack of posts by Beans.  Did you guys run him off?

Hope all is well with everyone.

Bill

Norm Chow's Offense

"The thing I like most about (Heimerdinger) is he listens to what the players have to say; he allows you to be a football player instead of a robot. He just lets you play football,'' Williams said. "Before it was a certain way you had to do things and that was it. Now it is basically, 'Get open'. I am pretty sure every receiver would like it like that.''

That was a quote from Roydell.  That about sums it up for me.  Chow didn't want playmakers, he wanted players doing EXACTLY what he told them to do.  Seems like that just about kills Vince's chance at doing what he does best.

I'm excited about this year with Dinger.

What do you think?
