Quote from Smith: "We’re going to be as aggressive as we can be, like we always are." I don't know whether to laugh or cry uncontrollably.

I thought this was an interesting read. Basically says get what you want and not settle for better than what you have.

Holy flying bats, Batman! This guy catches a bat that was flying into the stands and didn't spill his beer. Awesome!

Battle Red Blog The Play Action Pass: Where did it go?

So I was thinking about why the play action pass just doesn't seem to be producing this year like it did last year. I know most of us have been wondering why. I've got a theory.

Yay for 301 passing yards per game! Don't ask what the total yards given up per game is.

"Garren in Clifton Park, N.Y., suggests that Buffalo bring back Wade Phillips to be its defensive coordinator now that the team has a 3-4. Phillips will have a lot of options and will be the hottest defensive coordinator on the market. Don't be surprised if he's in Houston before the end of the season."

I would be for it. However I am not going to get my hopes up too much.

Battle Red Blog Reliant

Well, I wish I was posting on a happier note. This was my first trip to Reliant. Even flew down from D.C. for it. The highlights from game day is that we met and hung out with Tim, Lonespot, and Steph! Tim was kind enough to give me a BRB koozie! We did have a good time at the game, you know, aside from that alleged 60 minute whatever you want to call it that took place indoors.

Beer was cold, burgers and brats were good. Thanks for a great little tailgate LS!

Battle Red Blog The FedEx Experience

First off, what a game! Of course I stayed through it all. Right up to the point when Rackers put it through in OT.  I was pleasantly surprised by the number of Texan faithfuls in the crowd. A pair of them were right in front of me. One was friggen hilarious! Had the 'Skins fan next to me and myself roaring.

Battle Red Blog Heading to FedEx

I'm heading to FedEx this upcoming Sunday to see our Texans in person for the second time. First time I got to see them live was at Lambeau. Man what a game that was! By the end of that contest I didn't care it was -7 and I couldn't feel my face, fingers, or toes.

Battle Red Blog Midnight Musings

I'm siting here at work doing my thing and reading some posts and comments on BRB when I had an interesting thought. Up here in the DC area the only games that come on Comcast are either Redskins, Eagles, or Cowboys. I have to hit the local bar with NFL ticket to see my beloved hometown Texans. While here I have seen quite a few of the Eagles games and thus brings me to my thought.

Battle Red Blog Pro Football Focus All AFC South Team

Did anyone see this? All AFC South

So of course Andre is on there. Pollard is on there as well as Cush. However, they have Chris Myers at C and they have Justin Durant (who?) at MLB over DeJesus. Oh and both Freeney and Mathis got the nod over Super Mario.

Granted that Mario did not have a great season this year but to take both DE from the Colts is a bit much for an All AFC South team. As far as the MLB spot to have Durant over DeJesus and even Brackett is unforgivable. He's no Patrick Willis!

Thoughts?
