From the Rink is claiming that the Kings are close to sealing a deal that would secure them Kovalchuk. They don't give any details but in the article Chen chimes in saying it's from a source they trust a lot.

So apparently Kessel is practicing with Stajan and Blake... I don't know about you guys but I really don't want to see Kessel with Blake on Tuesday, also Tlusty has been sent down to the minors to make room for Kessel apparently.

Brian Burke is apparently already making calls to the Isles and the Lightning inquiring about getting their first round picks in the upcoming draft.
