Lots of Morrow Love Today...
Great time to be a Jays fan...
I'm so full of.... well er Pride!
When was the last time the Jays were referred to as "Big Boys"? I know it's crappy ESPN power rankings... but what can I say I, like every other Torontonian have an inferiority complex… so the below brings a smile to my face.
"After narrowly avoiding a sweep in New York, the Twins must find success in Toronto and Boston this week to prove they can hang with the big boys."
Halladay Open To NL, Big Market
Good day all... just sharing the latest not sure if you have seen this...
Let's Disscuss the Rotation
[Note by hugo, 05/11/09 6:26 PM EDT ]: Promoted from FanPosts - Hugo. Welcome! I thought this was an interesting thread for discussion on an off-day
On an off day I decided to dive in and make some comments about my beloved Jays. A little about me... I am not a Stat guy... I watch players and go by what impression they leave with me. I don't always follow the trend but life wouldn't be fun without a contrary opinion... that being said Bunner (who introduced me to this fantastic Blog) will tell you I predicted that the Jays would win the division this year with Boston a close second followed by the Rays and then the Yankees. No logic just the impression the teams left with me... I'm looking good so far but it's a long season...
On to my Topic... Jays Rotation I believe should look something like this:
Rotation:
Halladay, Richmond, Janssen, Litch and Romero.
Bull Pen
Tallet (long guy), Frasor and Carlson (hold Guys), Accardo and Downs (set up guys), Ryan closer and League as the bridge guy.
Demoted:
Ray, Cecil, Murphy, Camp and Wolfe
Cecil has looked great but he is a rookie who's service time we need to control, also we have way better control over is innings in the minors. Accardo should be up. He has the track record and he is performing at a high level Camp and Murphy do nothing for me. In the end we may need to package some of this pitching to get a bigger bat in the infield or an Ace... Could we put a package together for Peavy (though I don't love him)? Could we put a package together for Dan Haren? Should we consider anything like that...?
So at the end of this historic first post by Humble Dragons I ask the Bluebird Banter community; do we become very aggressive right now and try to sell high on some of our assets? And do you see the Rotation shaking out as I have listed above.
Thanks!
