I am a student currently at Western Connecticut University. After college I plan on attending graduate school in hopes of receiving an MBA and from there I plan on going on to receive a PhD in some field. Personally, I have been a New York Mets fan since a very young age and the person who introduced me to baseball was my mother and she too is a Mets fan. She is the bigger of the two Mets fans out of my mother and my father. Like Casey Candaele my mother taught me mostly everything she knew about the game. Since she was a young girl, she had been playing baseball since she was one of three daughters with no sons for my grandfather. My grandfather was a huge baseball fan to having grown up a huge New York Giants fan in the 1930s and 1940s with actually having sold hot dogs in the Polo Grounds. He told me stories time and time witnessing Carl Hubbell and Mel Ott play. Another baseball connection that my grandfather had was he routinely bowled at an alley owned Ralph Branca and became close to him and Branca's son who actually went to school with my mother. My grandfather always spoke highly of Mr. Branca. After he died in 2005, the baseball stories he told me will last forever.
