After reading comments posted on various sites, as well as Ted Miller mailbags, I feel it is my duty to write this post.  While the majority of Cal fans are intelligent and level-headed, and appreciate Tedford for the fantastic job he has done at Cal, there seems to be a growing contingent of anti-Tedford Cal fans.  This is ridiculous and needs to be stopped.  Look, Jeff Tedford is not perfect; he is not the best college football coach in America. 

I have come up with an analogy for the sitution.  Think of college football coaches as high school girls, and college football programs as high school guys.  Tedford is like an attractive cheerleader.  However, he is not the most attractive cheerleader/captain of the team, but nonetheless Tedford is seen as an upper member of the social structure of high school.  You, on the other hand, are UC Berkeley.  You are intelligent, with a bright future ahead of you.  However, you are a nerd, you are not overly attractive, and you emit a strange odor, due to the fact that you are a hippie.  Somehow, you find yourself in a long-term relationship with Tedford.  Now, you could always dump Tedford because there are a few more attractive girls out there.  But then again, Tedford is already out of your league, and probably the only girl out of your league that would stay with you as long as they have.  Maybe, just maybe, you'll snag the hottest cheerleader of the bunch after breaking up with Tedford.  Unlikely, though.  And if you do, they'll probably leave you at some point for someone more attractive. 

The point is, Jeff Tedford is a very good football coach.  I trust all of the decisions he makes.  Obviously, they won't all work out - but most will, which is why I will not question him.  Cal fans need to appreciate what they have, and support Tedford to the fullest (and hope he doesn't realize he's too good for Cal).  I'm tired of this nonsense, it needs to end.  Please, to those anti-Tedford "fans", stop ruining it for everyone by voicing your terribly mistaken opinion.

Note: This in no way insinuates that the Giants Lunatic Fringe is off-base in their anti-Sabean opinions.
