Thirty-Three in Montreal. Thirty-Nine in Buffalo???

It was announced by the Montreal Canadiens today that Patrick Roy's  #33 will become the 15th Jersey Number to be retired to the rafters at a Bell Centre Ceremony on November 22rd before a game against the Bruins. Roy already a Hall of Famer will be honered for his contributions to the Canadiens franchise. It is an honor that is well deserved.

It might be too late for this season, but I would like to see the Sabres send #39 to the rafters of HSBC arena. If any former Sabres player deserves to be honored  for his play in a Blue and Gold Uniform it is Dommink Hasek.  It took a couple of years until the "Dominator" became a Hockey Hall of Famer to be, but for five years Hasek was nearly unbeatable.  The thing that will last with me was with his unorthodox style, and how #39 was able to make the spectacular seem normal.

The question that must be asked is, will the Sabres be willing to make the first move and contact Hasek? What will Hasek's reaction considering how his relationship with the Sabres ended??

I hope that Sabres fans have a chance to thank Domink Hasek for the memories he gave to so many
