Mile High Report Dear Bill Maher;

Back when Maher was on ABC I actually thought he was funny. But, over the years since his move to HBO I have found him to be more demeaning to anyone who doesn't agree with him 100%. The sad thing is that his last few years he has gotten to be even more demeaning towards even his own audience. Terms like "slopeheads" for pretty much everyone who does not live on the coasts just made me leave the building completely.

His recent, in my opinion, railing on Tim Tebow demands that I write an open letter to Bill Maher. See it after the jump.

Mile High Report I have heard that Bowlen wants to dip into the Broncos Past

Living in Oklahoma, I am not too privy as to what all is happening with my beloved Broncos. Although this season I HAVE been hearing it from Chiefs fans and the token Jokeland fan around here.

With the dismissal of McD and the buzz about the next coach and who it may be, I as a fan since 1964 would love to throw in my two cents worth.

I have watched the pitiful days of Mac Speedie and Lou Saban. I saw Ray Malavasi, who took the Rams to the Super Bowl get more out of his partial season than any other "intermittent" coach, including Studesville, so far. I really wanted Malavasi over Saban, but Malavasi did not look the HC part and was not the salesman Saban was.

Mile High Report Where do we go from here? Random thoughts and stuff.

I watched, I screamed, I uttered a lot of foul language. It got me nowhere fast.

This team had a choice after last week. Keep up the fight or just give it up. Sadly, the Denver Broncos gave it up.

Where was the leadership on the field? Where was the pride? Where was the determination?

Instead I have to ask... Where are the apologies?

This team came out flatter than my Jr. High School girlfriend. I know and hear all the time about all the injuries. That was no excuse last week against the Jets. The team was wired and fired up then. What happened? Was it because the Jets are contenders while the Raiders are pretenders?

Denver Stiffs It may be time for something totally different

This is my first fanpost. I have laid back and read all the people and their opinions hoping for something different in terms of how to rebuild/ finish building a team good enough to win an NBA Title.

I have been a fan of the Nuggets/Rockets since the old ABA days. I fondly remember watching Byron Beck, Dave Robisch and, God help me, Julius Keye get a great rebound and miss the lay up putback shot. Warren Jabali whom I think would be a star in today's NBA yet had a temper fuse shorter than short and even a 5'9" PG named Larry Brown.

So what is this, my first fanpost to be about?

Mile High Report History Repeats

Watching the game today I kept being struck by the way things just looked and seemed so familiar to me.

When the announcers Ian and Rich Gannon started discussing the 3-0 start being only the second time Denver started 3-0. Then they followed it with the fact that the previous team to start 3-0 was the 1977 team with Robert "Red" Miller as the Head Coach I jumped from my seat and hollared "Oh Yeah".

Mile High Report What I Liked From Sunday

After watching the game on Sunday I came away somewhat excited by what I had seen. I know there are many out there who will disagree, but I for one really do not care what anybody has to say. The Almighty gave me a brain to think, eyes to see and a tad bit of common sense to hopefully correlate the information into something be it good or bad.

Mile High Report My First Post, First Mock Draft

<!-- @page { size: 8.5in 11in; margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } -->

Okay, Ladies and Gentlemen, to stir up the pot even more I now present you Igor B. Strange’s Mock Draft of 2009.

1.

1A. James Laurinaitis ILB - Ohio State – Smart, versatile, just makes plays. My pick at 18.

2. Patrick Chung S - Oregon – High motor, good intelligence and leadership.

3. Keenan Lewis CB - Oregon State – Tall CB for the AFC West receivers.

3A. Sammie Lee Hill - DE/NT Stillman – Could be a beast in a year or two. Smart, athletic, versatile, good motor.

4. A. Q. Shipley - OC – Penn State – If he falls to here, I say grab him.

5. Frantz Joseph LB - FAU – Impressive kid, betcha he’s a pro bowler in a few years.

6. Bear Pascoe – TE – Fresno State – My kind of guy. Dishes out the hits and makes defenders pay.

7. Roy Miller NT - Texas – I think he’s a real sleeper. Great motor, good initial hit into the Offensive Lineman to push the pocket.

7A. Vaughn Martin NT/DE - W. Ontario – The size and talent of this kid are unreal. If he’s still available, I think he’s a great pick.

Why nothing for the first pick? Because if I had my way I would trade down, get more picks this year or next . Get Philly’s or TB’s pick plus a 3rd next year and another 6th or 7th this year. Then I would choose the BPA.

Heck, why not trade #12 to TB or NYJ for their 1, no. 3,7 next year and a no. 6 or 7 this year.

Then send 18 to Philly for the same package of picks? The Broncos still can get Laurinaitis and another very good player. Why not set us up for next year with a fat bag of picks for players or to trade for what we need then?

I just think this year is full of low round surprises and small college surprises ala Kendall Langford, Brandon Marshall, etc..

I would love to see Sammie Lee Hill and Vaughn Martin lining up in the hybrid 4/3 - 3/4 with their size and speed. I'm sure Nunnely can make these two into beasts.

How can you block two guys at 6-4 and 320+ pounds with their speed and strength? The opposing OL would be burned out by the 2nd half. Add to that the fact there will be a rotation with Fields, Powell, Thomas, Peterson? Oh me, oh my, oh goodness me. I love the thoughts.
